Dr. Wood and Dr. Kritzer are really fine doctors... I have enjoyed being treated by them. However, their office staff has finally made me choose a new eye doctor. The office staff tends to come off as cold and uncaring and rather "bitchy". Ive been going to Allen Eyecare since 1996 and have put up with the "ladies" but I wont do it anymore. For example, I recently had an issue with my eye. When I called in to make an appointment, the lady that answered was more concerned about telling me the cost of the appointment and had little to no regard to my eye problem... I have great vision and medical coverage and the payment wasnt going to be an issue (never has been in the whole time Ive been going to see Dr. Wood), but her instance about payment felt cold and impersonal and uncaring... no thanks... Ill find someone else closer to home.

Dr. Wood is great. Hes very thorough and takes his time. I felt like he truly cares about the vision of his patients. The staff is great however the only negative thing I have to say is in regards to one of the eye technicians. Shes this older woman probably in her 50s that has the smallest, most annoying, little girl voices Ive ever heard in my life. She came across as rude and impatient with me and a bit annoyed with me. Im not sure what I did to annoy her but everytime Ive gone she acts exactly the same way with me. Anyway, its not something Im worried about considering that she comes across as a complete weirdo with that wierd voice of hers. Other than that its a great place!

The doctor is great but the optical store in there is horrible. They are very bad. They made mistakes on my order, did not deliver what I ordered and on top of that made me pay an insane amount on top. I have the best insurance but still ended up paying hundreds of dollars just because they made mistakes. I have been wearing glasses for a long time and never I paid so much. They cannot even explain the charges properly. I just had to get it over with and paid. I do not recommend buying glasses and lenses from here. There are tons of stores that have better service and charge a lot less.

Dr. Kritzer and staff are amazingly wonderful!! When it was more expensive to go through my insurance to get my glasses they offered me something through their office that was $100 less and I could make payments on AND offered frames! Ive been seeing Dr. Kritzer for about 3 years now and would NOT go anywhere else, if he moves, Ill follow. Ive been reading the reviews about the ladies up front and will talk to them. They are great to me, Ive never had a problem with them.

Dr. Wood and staff have always taken good care of my vision needs. Dr. Wood has been available to me even in emergencies when I was traveling. The staff have always been helpful and courteous, starting with Barb, Christi, upfront, Sonja(sp), and Kristi in the lab. Kristi goes to great lengths to insure I have a good fit both physically and visually so I have a positive result from my prescriptions.

BNI North Collin

I have been a patient for 25 years, and I have always been well taken care of by Dr. Wood and by his office staff. I cant imagine going to any other doctor for my eyes. Super job!! This is Melissa Simmons. I dont know how BNI North Collin showed up for me. I am a member of BNI North Collin, which meets every Wednesday from 11:30 to 1:00 at El Dorado Country Club in McKinney.
