We were looking for an eye doctor in the Plano area and although there were many, we decided to try out this one - mostly because of its central location and the fact that it is open on Saturdays by appointment. First of all there is ample parking available and the building has several other independent medical practitioners so it is almost like a one stop place for your medical needs. My wife and I, had made no appointment but the front desk folks were great about squeezing us in, great flexibility. I would recommend making an appointment though, just so you get the doctor you want. The facility has several eye doctors and a vast selection of contact lenses and eye glasses, if you are just looking at purchasing eye products, I am sure you can bring in your prescription and they would accommodate you, they even have a special area where they show new contact lenses how to put on and take care of their contact lenses. Once our preliminary exam was complete, we were greeted by Dr. Khoja, she was phenomenal in trying to understand what my daily routine was like, the issues I was facing, she put me at ease (I hadnt been to an optometrist in over 5 years). Once she had completed an interview, she then began a thorough in depth exam. In the end, she shows you a before and after image, to give you an idea of how much of a difference eye glasses/contact lenses would make. I like that they were very honest and practical, based on my prescription, they recommended I get corrective vision to fix my astigmatism but they also suggested that my wifes vision did not require corrective vision at this time. The other thing that is so great is that during your eye exam, the optometrist takes a second look at your previous prescriptions for you in case you wanted a second opinion. We have since moved away from Plano, but we can guarantee that we will be returning back here for any of our familys eye care needs.

Do not go to this place! They will try to force you to give your medical info and SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER even if you have vision insurance AND YOUR Identification. My initial call was good ...the lady Lorie was very nice that made my appointment and at the time I only knew my vision was VSP and did not have my medical card with me. I told her I would call back with it or bring it to my appointment. Well I got a call the day before my appointment from a heather the insurance coordinator and she was extremely rude and was trying to forcefully make me give her my social security number and medical information. She stated that I could not be seen unless I gave her that info. First of all Nobody can ever make someone give them your social. I am a lawyer and I am well aware of the law. This place is terrible and unless you want to give your personal information to some unknown person over the phone you should avoid this place. I cancelled my appointment and will never recommend this place. Very disappointed because I had heard nice things about the Dr. and was looking forward to seeing her for my routine exam not a medical exam. There are 100+ eye doctors in the area so you are better off going somewhere else besides The Plano Eye Care Center. Did I mention a friend of mine actually went here this week and waited way after his appointment time to be called back and while waiting he over heard the receptionist ask the other receptionist to take him back and she said he could wait for the tech to get back from lunch .. Well apparently he found out later the receptionist who was asked to take him back was the office manger.. This place is a joke! Do they think we cant hear them talk or that our time is not valuable?

I came to the Plano Eye Care Center in hopes of finding a facility that would take care of all my vision needs and in return got so much more than that! Dr. Khoja demonstrates how much she cares by taking the time to explain in ways so you can understand whats going on with your vision. Being a patient just recently diagnosed with Keratoconus trying to find the perfect fit for contacts, Dr. Khoja took the time to truly understand and get the ideal fit for me. Several visits were made to ensure that I was leaving with a vision that I was happy with, and throughout the whole process she was so patient and helpful and made me feel at ease with it all! I couldn’t be happier! The friendliness of the staff contributes to a great office environment that is conducive to customer service excellence. Her office is also very efficient and on top of its administrative stuff – Heather, who is the insurance specialist at Dr. Khoja’s office was by far the most helpful person I have dealt with. Prior to even walking into their office she was so supportive in helping me transition from offices and explaining me the rights and wrongs of what should and shouldn’t be happening in regards to my specific insurance plan. Prior to even meeting me she took an immense amount of time to go above and beyond and exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t thank her enough. She answered all insurance questions I had, and even helped me get estimates on frames and allowed me to get a better understanding of how to purchase the proper eye glass frame and what to specifically look for with my prescription! I definitely recommend the Plano Eye Care Center!

I would like to preface this review with: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS EYE DOCTOR - SHE IS THE REAL DEAL! Dr. Kohja is an incredible, thorough, caring, and patient focused professional. I chose The Plano Eye Care Center specifically due to their location where I live. I saw my previous optometrist for 28 years after he caught a retinal tear in my early twenties that saved my vision in my left eye. He recently retired so I made an assumption that all eye care places would be the same and just pick convenience. On my first visit to Dr. Kohja I related all the issues I had with my contacts and vision over the past few years. She immediately asked if she could try some various lenses to help my reading/distance vision issues. Over the next two months she has created the best eyesight I have had in over a decade. She could have easily fitted me with my same contacts and sent me on my way. Instead she has improved my quality of life, improved comfort during long days of contracts/computer reading, and improved my safety as a pilot. I recommend her and the staff completely - they are even worth a long drive based on my experience!

I am not rating the doctors at this facility, I am rating the experience I had today. I had an appointment set up for today, which I scheduled on December 19th- over a month in advance. I went to check in and the receptionist was very unfriendly almost instantly. I was informed that I had apparently called on January 18th and cancelled my appointment. I never called and cancelled. I then asked how the appointment was cancelled, which she then responded that I myself had called and cancelled. I explained to her that I never cancelled and if I had why would I take time off from work and drive there if I knew I cancelled? The response given was "well it wouldnt just pop up showing that you called and cancelled. You will need to reschedule for another time." It would have been nice to have been given some common courtesy and just a friendly disposition in general. I was looking forward to ordering new glasses and contacts and now I will be finding a new eye care center. What is unfortunate is that I read so many reviews that were great and I took a good amount of time researching before scheduling my appointment.
