I had to change dentists because of a change in insurance and I made a very poor decision choosing 1st choice Dental Care. I went in for a routine cleaning. The hygienist was very gental, the place was clean, everyone was very nice-- I felt comfortable. Dr. Vaughn said that my x-rays showed that I had 3 cavities. Given that Dr. Vaughn is not at the location every day I made an appointment with Dr. Kataria (Dr. K) to fill my cavities. When I arrived Dr. K numbed the upper left and bottom left portion of my mouth, when she should have numbed the upper left and bottom right. After she numbed my mouth she proceeded to drill on the right side (which was not numb). When I basically jumped out of the chair, Dr. K realized that she numbed the wrong part of my mouth. She had the x-rays in front of her and was completely negligent in looking at them. I was hesitant to allow her to continue but she reassured me that it was OK to numb my entire left side as well as the bottom right side of my mouth. My mouth was held open (non-stop) for a full two hours (I watched an hour of the news and all of the Chew). When I went to check out I was furious. She had nicked my gum, causing it to bleed, my face was numb past my eyebrow on the left side (which has never happened) and on the right bottom portion, my jaw was so sore, and then they charged me even more than I was told. I could not argue with the charge because no one could understand me when I talked. I was numbed at noon and when I went to bed that night at 11pm, I still had the numbing sensation. As a nurse, I know how important it is to not make mistakes and Dr. K was clearly careless. Although she did call me from her house phone that night to see if I was ok, which means she obviously knew that she had made a mistake. A few days later I felt something loose, it was the filling. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is the worst dental experience I have ever had in my life.

I have a severe dentist phobia. I havent been to a dentist in 15 years and would not have gone if I wasnt in extreme pain. From the first second Holly answered the phone I knew I had called the right place and that everything was going to be ok. She assured me that they would take good care of me and that she would even hold my hand, and thats what she and the entire staff did from the moment I walked in. The office is very calming and doesnt feel like a dentists office at all. I cant say enough good things about the entire staff. They took care of me like I was family. They didnt laugh even when I cried over something as silly as exrays. They were gentle, kind and comforting the entire time I was there. Dr. Vaughn was very sweet and didnt hurt me at all. She explained my options and referred me to an oral surgeon so I could be put to sleep when the work was done. Because of their kindness I actually decided to get an implant done instead of just having my tooth pulled. It means more work and return trips to the dentist, but Im ok with that knowing how they will treat me while I am there. I am switching my entire family to Dr. Vaughns office and will be singing their praises to everyone I know! I highly recommend this practice!

When it comes to finding a dental care that provides great patient care and experience 1st Choice Dental Care is the one! I recently needed dental care which Ive been putting off due to fact I really havent found a place that makes me feel comfortable but when I discovered 1st Choice I was more than pleased! The staff is wonderful from the front office ladies to the dental hygienist, assistant, to the checkout and especially the Doctor which at the Woodstock location is Dr. Vaughn. They all made me feel comfortable and eased my fear! When a Doctor actually calls to check up on you to see how you are doing and if there is anything needed to please call them back...means a lot! I plan to continue my care with them and if you are searching for a dental office 1st Choice Dental is the one to visit for all your dental needs! Thank you 1st Choice for your professionalism and overall patient care!

I have spent much of my life avoiding the dentist, so starting off, I felt embarrased, not to mention afraid, of how much pain I was in for. However, from the moment I entered the office, I was made to feel completely at ease. From the front desk, to the technicians, to the dentist, everyone was beyond professional. They were so caring and generous with their time and expertise. Now to the meat of it...The Proceedure. NO PAIN!! When I left, I not only felt much better, but I had a plan of action going forward, taking my personal situation into account. I cant think of a better result. I would recommend 1st Choice and the amazing Dr. Vaughn to anyone and everyone...David S

I am not one who likes going to the dentist office. 1st Choice Woodstock has changed my mine about that. The staff there are freaking hilarious. They make me want to smile before I walk in and they keep me laughing even when I am leaving. From the ladies checking me in, to the staff members who do the work, and the dentist herself all make me feel like I am their number 1 patient. (Cant put a price tag on that) I can honestly say that they are a part of my family. I have going to this office for 3 years now and I highly recommend you try them out. If you are ever looking for a great dentist, let this office be your 1st Choice. Thanks, Abraham Grant, Jr.

Going to this place is like when a woman goes to get her oil changed. You just want a regular cleaning or whatever, and they look at your mouth for a few minutes and then tell you all this work you need done. Oh, you need the deep cleaning, and new x-rays, and then you need these fillings re-done, and probably a root canal. wtf. They told my wife all this stuff and it seemed sketchy to me, so I sent her to a different dentist. The new dentist confirmed that everything they told her was BS. All she needed was a regular cleaning. The people there are friendly and courteous, but they tried to take us to the cleaners. I would be wary.

I had my first appointment with 1st Choice today and could not have been more pleased with my experience. First impressions first, the office environment was warm and welcoming. From beginning to end the staff were courteous, considerate, and professional (not to mention prompt, no endless waiting in this office!). Aubrey and Dr. Lily were thorough in both my exam and cleaning. From my initial scheduling interaction to the friendly "have a great day" I received as I walked out the door, I have been greatly impressed with the level of care provided by the team at 1st Choice Dental Care Woodstock.

When my last dentist for 12 years retired 5 years ago it was hard to find another dentist. I went from dentist to dentist. I was referred to Dr Vaughn and I have been very pleased. I have been a patient for over a year. The level of service I have received from 1st Choice Dental is beyond expectation. Dr Vaughn explains everything she is doing. The office environment is pleasant and friendly. Dental Assistants are personable. They incorporate technology and personal touches into appointments. They also work with my dental insurance.
