If I could give no star, I would. I am a Grandma visiting my daughter and four grandsons in Austin. The boys had the chest crud over the holidays and unfortunately passed it on to me (The boys saw their doctor, received prednisone syrup, nose sprays, an antibiotic, and albuterol treatments) They are much better. It was Wednesday, December the 28th, two days before I was to fly home on Friday the 30th, and I had 100.4, tight chest congestion, and felt horrible. I knew I had caught their chest croup. So, I went to this clinic seeking relief and help to get home as I was beginning to think I would have to cancel my flight home to Amarillo. I received a face mask upon entering and signing in (which I was glad to take.) I saw the Dr. on duty, Kim K. She listen to my plight, said my ears had a small amount of pressure, no redness in throat, which I agreed. My ears did not hurt, my throat was not sore. I had 99.something fever. My problem was in my chest. She listened front and back and said it was clear. Now, folks, Im telling you I could hear myself wheezing. So, I kinda though she was joking. She wasnt. She swabbed my nose for flu. It was negative. What you have to understand is that, I had hoped to get at least a steroid shot to start nipping this in the bud before my flight. I was handed three copies of paper about how our evil overmedicating ways had to change. So with my mask in hand, an insurance payment in their pocket, I flew home Friday. I am writing this Saturday morning, December 31st. I have just gotten home from a visit to my Urgent Care Clinic in Canyon. I was diagnosed with bronchitis. I received a steroid shot immediately, and antibiotics, cough syrup, and albuterol for breathing treatments were called into the pharmacy. *** Edited: I am writing this edit several weeks later. I had my regular checkup with my Dr. Feb. 9th. My blood work showed elevated Troponin levels. (Which my dr said can be indicative of recent heart damage.) Hmm... I was sent to a cardiologist. Several tests later, my heart is fine, albeit other than a benign irregular heartbeat, or arrhythmia. I have an extra heartbeat, but the heart tests coming back basically ok, I asked the cardiologist what has created the elevated Troponin levels? And how long can they stay in your blood, since they are not usually ever present? He asked me if Id had pneumonia recently, as that can cause the enzyme to be present in blood work, too. Hmm ... Ill let yall figure out the ending to this story.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had at this location today. I am needing to get a UA due to a CPS case that came up due to domestic and sexual abuse from my former partner and father of my child and because I decided to press charges and fight for me and my childs safety. I have never done a drug test before, so I was not familiar with the rules, including NOT to flush the toilet after you have your sample. The nurse went over this with me, and I went into the restroom repeating "Dont flush. Dont flush. Dont flush." Of course, I naturally reached to flush the toilet as soon as I went and wiped, and I cursed myself immediately after. I went right out and told her my goof, and she told me I needed to wait there until I could pee again. So, I stay. I drink and drink and drink. I spend 45 minutes trying to fill up on water and go again, even though all I want to do at 7PM on a Monday night is see my child and eat dinner. I go back to the counter and ask the receptionist if she could write me a post-it or something that says "DONT FLUSH" so I could put it on the toilet this next time and hopefully not make the same mistake as I did the first time. She told me to wait while she went back to ask the nurse who gave the UA about my request. Receptionist comes back and asks "didnt you see the signs that are already in there?" I replied as politely as possible that, obviously I didnt, and even if I had, those signs obviously did not work for me. I then look up to see the UA nurse literally roll her eyes and shake her head at me. The receptionist tells me she cant do that for me, and that I should be able to use the ones already in there. I waited for about a minute before I inquired about whether or not there was some rule against writing on paper for patients. She informed me that I would need to take it up with the nurse who rolled her eyes at me (and my apparent stupidity). After the horrible week I have had and the 20 hour day I was ending, I was not about to go back with the nurse who obviously made ZERO consideration of my situation. Such a disappointing and degrading experience. So didnt need to be that way. Please work with your employees on straight up customer service. The receptionist was wonderful, the nurses behavior, however, was appalling. I left without doing the test again. Note: clinic waiting room was completely empty when this occurred.

I would not recommend going here. To start off I am a RN and have recently moved to Austin and found myself having a UTI. Due to recently moving I have no PCP close by and therefore had no choice but to go to an urgent care. At first I was rather impressed with the wait times but it was all down hill from there. I gave them a urine sample where they then ran a urine dipstick on it in house. I informed the staff multiple times that I had been taking an over the counter medication called Azo to help relieve the pain. A side effect of this medication is that it changes the color of your urine and in turn makes a urine dipstick not work.Mind you this is common knowledge to any medical professional. I was then told I do not have a UTI but they will send off the urine for a culture to the lab. I then sat with the doctor who I was seeing and explained to her I had all the symptoms of a UTI: foul smelling urine, cloudy urine, frequency, urgency, painful urination, and only being able to urinate small amount at one time.I then requested again to be given an antibiotic for my UTI. Once again the doctor refused stating I do not have a UTI. As a medical professional myself one is taught in school to use common sense and if someone has all the symptoms of a UTI you then are to treat it even prior to the urinalysis culture results. Mind you this was all on Tuesday. Finally on Friday after my symptoms worsening the clinic finally calls to inform me I have a UTI with a lot of bacteria in my urine. I then was finally prescribed an antibiotic. Now think about this my bacteria count in my urine was high on Tuesday so by Friday it most likely doubled. I then consulted with another physician (NOT from TX Med Clinic) who based on my urine results recommended a much stronger antibiotic than TX Med Clinic prescribed. I was also informed by this other physician (not from TX Med Clinic) that I could possibly have a kidney infection due to their delay in treatment. So thank you TX Med Clinic for letting me walk around with an untreated UTI for 3 days and possibly a kidney infection. DO NOT GO HERE you will be left untreated for multiple days and just overall the providers are not knowledgeable once so ever.
