I brought my dog here for his gum cleaning because it seemed like a good thing do. Sign up for plan, I wouldnt have to pay for the cleaning and I got free doctor visits by signing up. I had nothing but problems. I notice an abrasion on his testicle the same day he got his cleaning and the bruise where they receive blood work from was growing. I took him to the doctor the next morning and doctor didnt did a thorough examination and just sent us home with pills and we left under five minutes. Next day I had to rush him back because he was bleeding out his anus. We learned that his anal gland rupture. They clean and flush the rupture and gave us different medications. We ended up going to an emergency room and spending more money because it was bleeding again. There we learned that his blooding was probably having a hard time clotting and they outline the bruise for us to see if the bruise was growing. They always cut the hair around his rupture, which this location failed to do, and give him a shot to stop the pain and his discomfort, which this location also failed to do, and give us two more medications. So in total he takes five medications. Today, his bruise grew outside the outline and when I brought him back I couldnt see a doctor because they only have one doctor, who was booked with surgeries, and they refer me back to the emergency hospital we were. My mom called around to ask about the price of blood transfusions, since the doctor at the other hospital said theres a chance he may have to have it, and one doctor told her out of honesty that there is only a 50% chance it will work because hes a Bichon Poodle and there could be a chance hes in more pain then we know and the best option is to put him down. All of this happened in a matter of four days. Theres a chance I have to put him down and this all happened after four days. The doctor should have done his job and checked him more properly because theres a chance that he couldve caught the anal abscess early before it rupture and he shouldnt have been so nonchalant about his bruise that was growing. Now were stuck with even more problems, five medications, and the possibility of putting my dog down.

Only good for routine vaccinations. A constant turnover in vets (basically a training ground - you very seldom see the same vet twice). Our 8 year old OES almost died in their care. Found out that after 18 months on Banfields preventative care program, none of the vets were reading blood work analysis which indicated critically low blood cell counts over several comprehensive bi-annual exams. When brought to Banfields attention, they just apologized and recommended an aggressive steroid treatment plan which almost killed our dog. Banfield finally admitted that they could not help our dog, could not explain why she kept deteriorating in health and finally suggested that we take her to a "real" animal hospital (we chose Coral Springs Animal Hospital). After 7 days in ICU and after being completely removed from all the medication that Banfield had recommended, she recovered fully. As a result of the misdiagnosis and treatment at Banfield, our dog developed Diabetes and must now received daily insulin injections. My advice is to "stay clear" of Banfield except for the very rudimentary health care issues that may face your pet!

Ive been using Banfield for several years now, but this particular location has been mainly a disappointment. I would not recommend it and would stop going there myself if it werent close from my house. For serious issues, Ive learned to go to Margate or Coral Springs. I went against my judgement again this time, and sought advice from their doctor in the last week regarding my pets weight loss and bloody diarrhea. Pills they gave me didnt make the slightest differnce. When I called after a few days asking for different treatment options, despite promise of a call back from the doc, noone bothered to return my message. Im not even going to talk about previous neglectful actions I encountered in their place. Huge UPSET!!! Dont go!!!

I had very poor service and no good experience with Banfield recently when my dog had an emergency. All Banfield locations Fort Lauderdale, Margate, Coral Spring, Riverside had just one doctor in surgery and i have to wait until later afternoon in order to get some medication for diarrhea and vomit for my senior dog. The last appointment i dropped my dog in Fort Lauderdale location early morning, he was there all day without service until i went back later afternoon to pick him up. the last 6 months Banfield services are no filling customer expectations because missing Dr and workers i guess. Hopefully this situation is being reviewed and we can see solutions soon.

My dog was throwing up and had diarrhea, and I immediately took him to Banfield. Wed previously gone to the Sunrise location, and this was our first experience with the Ft Lauderdale office. The staff is very nice and patient, and ran tests to determine what was going on with our pup. A few medications to treat symptoms and help get his appetite back did the trick, and the Banfield staff called several times throughout the week to check up on him and make sure he was improving day by day. Great experience!

At this location a doctor did minor surgery on my puppys face to remove a wart type bump on his lip. The bump just came back weeks later. When we took him to another vet (also a banfield) they explained it was caused by a virus and would definitely go away all on its own but would take a few months. They said it was fairly common and would take a little bit of time but required no actual treatment whatsoever ... forget about doing any cutting on my dogs face. Terrible experience.

Staff and Drs always changing and worsening over the years. Poor customer service, waited almost 2 weeks for a call back from manager regarding situation. They make commitments over the phone they dont keep. Go to a real animal hospital or veterinary that truly cares about your pets and people.

A bunch of rip offs!!! Very unprofessional and all they care about is how to stick you with a huge bill. Also they refer you to a "professional" place for your dog so just it happens that dogs pads get all cut up. Do not use them or any of their "referrals".

Dr Parsons and the staff was great. My dog got attacked and her leg was very bad. They took great care of Dutchess and helped ease my mind. Dutchess got better and they also helped me financially since Im on a fixed income. Thank you so much

I like the staff, even it might be a bit expensive I know my Guinea pig (Petunia) will get great care. It is difficult to find a exotic pet care at times, for a nail trim or even a routine check up.

I have a very grumpy cat and besides her bad temper, Dr. Murray knows exactly how to handle her and is very knowledgeable. Overall great staff I definitely recommend this place.
