Would not recommend. The aids were more knowledgeable than the Psychiatrist and social workers. Very unprofessional and the activities that go on that are not documented as far as medication and medical issues. They allowed and treated a 67 year old woman for an addiction that she did not have while they ripped her off of medication that you can have seizures from being ripped off of and allowed her to go through severe withdrawal. They have horrible policies about patients leaving for medical procedures due to their lack of attention to what is going on in previous situations. Their tract record for certain employees violence against the elderly as well as allowing violent addicts and the depressed elderly in the same areas. They also lie to the families about treatment plans and after care. Stated the patient would be cared for with medication treatment and only gave patient enough for a few days just to be spiteful because the client chose a better resource for after care. Other patients suffer because they cant get their legal issues in order and come up with decent compliant plans for outside medical treatment so they deny patients outside medical treatment for preexisting issues. They allow elderly patients to suffer in pain while changing and falsifying medication distribution when meds were not given. This place is not a treatment center. It is a playground that the state would have a field day with due to the horrible mistreatment by the presiding physicians such as Dr. McAndrews and social worker Caitlyn Alford whom held a family meeting over the same phone that patients speak to their families on instead of being within the confines of a professional office environment. They released an elderly woman early when they realized that she had family that are practitioners and was knowlegable in the field. They were annoyed that the patients family was able to identify that they were not handling things appropriately. The worst place ever. Not saying much being in affiliation with Kennedy washington township and Dr. Friedman. Whom falsified info to have patients admitted. People do your research and make sure that you have your legal papers for your loved ones in order so that you dont have these issues arise. This physician was spiteful, unprofessional and her ethics were below standard. Do not hesitate to contact consumer affairs, the state of New Jerseys Medical board for practicianers and physicians, and the medical ethics board when you or a loved one receives below average care. I found it disturbing that they cant have certain items which is obvious why. However, they can have plastic silverware. Very backwards. Last but not least there was no handling and discussing matters and tools to be given to help rehabilitate the depressed. Nice on the outside in appearance and a nightmare on the inside. There were several professional people that worked there minus those who were supposed to uphold the utmost professionalism that have taken oaths.Elderly patients with depression should not be treated in the same treatment areas as violent patients. Also, it was like a jail. Their are no proactive or systematic procedures for the aging community and those with depression. It is unfortunate that once caught up in this type of network they retaliate against the patient for their own wrong doing. Do not be afraid to complain and force people in these high positions to do their jobs efficiently for all patients. Not just the ones they want to.They also made a patient wait all day to be released while they knew that she had a procedure to have done. While she sat in severe pain.removed her from the tv area after discharge and made her sit there for hours waiting to be picked up.These people in charge are Definately products of their work environment and when it gets to that point its time to retrain or go into another field. There is way more to this story but I ll give it time to see if Ill be pursuing my lawyer to look into things from the beginning hospital to her admittance into this DISCUSTING place.

This place is HORRIFIC. My 70 year old mother was there for depression because she has a debilitating disease. This place was like a jail when i visited her. I cried I was so upset. Everyone visits in one room, a bunch of tables set up. Patient sits on one side and you have to sit on the other. I got fully searched and couldnt bring a phone or anything. If i left for the bathroom I got searched again. They have their geriatric patients mixed in with the involuntary SEVERE mental patients. My mother had a group with people with Schizophrenia and violent patients. She is an old lady who can barely move because of her disease. The night I visited my mother she was so doped up on medication she was drooling and couldnt make eye contact. She just stared at the lights. When questioned, they state they didnt change any of her medication. How do you explain her state then? If your loved one has a severe mental health condition requiring in patient care, then this would work. But not for people who simply have depression, and certainly not for geriatric patients.

This hospital should be condemned! It is infested with bed bugs and they treat the patients as if they dont matter. They feed them stale sandwiches that you can break a window with and expect for them to wash it down with sour curdled milk. It is so sad to see the patients treated in this manner as they have noone to speak on their behalf. Im hoping to make a difference, time will tell.

The performance of the social worker Jeff was unsatisfactory, also he is rude and should learn how to speak to people with respect. The young man at the front desk is just as bad. On the other hand nurses were very nice and my daughter did get the medical treatment she needed. In the future, Northbrook will not be my first choice.

Unbelievably bad food, dirty paper plates, shocking treatment of seniors, depressed/ broken staff. Nightmarish changes after privatization.

Could do somethings differently like having a gym, more times outdoors to excercise. There were a few flaws in the medication aspect.
