I went to intake in the middle of October. I was given a therapy appointment for 11/01 but they couldnt get me in for a psychiatric evaluation with a doctor until 12/22, leaving me without medication until then. The November therapy appointment went great but they didnt have another appointment available (therapist recommended two weeks) for over a month. I scheduled it for 12/06 and asked if the next time getting an appointment two weeks out would be easier. She laughed and said "I hope so." I got a call today, 11/29, about my therapy appointment on 12/06. Literally a week away, and Ive already waited nearly a month for it. The therapist tells me she is no longer doing therapy and will put in a transfer for another therapist. She said she does not know how long that will take but I should get a call to schedule an appointment within the next week or two. For an appointment I can only assume will be MONTHS away. Meanwhile, the mental health of patients going through this scheduling nightmare will suffer. Update: Its now February and Ive seen the new therapist one time. They have handled the scheduling slightly better than they did previously. The reason I remain at Cape Counseling is because while their scheduling is a nightmare and their office staff cant do anything about it, their counselors are spectacular.

They schedule more than a month and a half in advance, and require you to call into a message line to confirm your appointment. When I confirmed my appointment (well within the window required, on the message line required), I arrived and was told that it had been cancelled because I "didnt confirm". They were not at all empathetic about my having done so or my need to stay on daily medications, and scheduled me for a month after my medications ran out. Additionally, if your doctor calls out sick, you are forced to wait at least three weeks for another appointment. Overall, they are overscheduled and under-empathetic. They have showed more than once that they do not care at all for patient health.

Ive been going here for roughly 8 years. The therapists can be hit or miss, the doctors too, but overall the service is great, especially now. You get what you give with the receptionists, as most humans do. Their appointments arent just over-scheduled, which you can ease into after a few appointments and have the ability to make three appointments ahead of time; their staff is also overworked. If they seem short or unsympathetic, they arent, but youre not the only one with problems there. Great people, decent service, with the only downside being that there arent more staff to handle the workload.
