Ive been coming here with my family for probably 20 years, and now that I am adult actually paying the bill, Im shocked at how much they nickel and dime you here. I brought my kitten here today for her 2nd round of shots, after coming in for her first check-up 3 weeks ago. Even though I was there 3 weeks ago for the check-up, I was charged for another check-up that I did not schedule or request. The last time I was there I told the front desk specifically that I needed an appointment for booster shots, not another check up. This was also after waiting at least half an hour, for what I thought were just booster shots. So dont bother being on time because apparently they dont schedule appointments appropriately. After being charged $115 for this second visit, instead of the $23 it was supposed to be for the shot, I questioned the front desk why I was charged this much and why I needed a 2nd check-up. The best answer I got was "thats just how it is for everyone". Ok, well watch out everyone!! After looking over the bill, I noticed more things that they charge you for that they dont tell you about. Like checking a stool sample? They told me to bring it in, so being the naive new pet owner, I did what I was told. They neglected to tell me that every time you bring in a stool sample, they charge you another $35. I didnt even get the results. After catching on to their little game, I started to notice how much the doctor tries to up-sell things that you probably dont really need. I will say that most of the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. But overall, Id watch my wallet here. Make sure you understand what you are agreeing to, and how much it will cost you! Dont be naive like I was! I will only be bringing my pets back here if they are sick. No more surprise fees for me please!

I have been taking my dogs to Pleasant Valley for almost 4 years. However, I recently took my small dog into the vet because she was vomiting and very lethargic. Dr. Brad informed us that he would need to keep her over night for review. We did not hesitate. He also stated that he did not feel blood work was necessary (since he is the trained professional we did not question his decision), however, he did put her on an IV. She received TWO IV treatments (she only weights 11 pounds). He called to let us know that she could be picked up the next day. Upon picking her up, her belly was significantly distended and she was breathing very very heavy. We asked to speak to the doctor and we were told "Dr. Brad said she was fine". Over the next 24 hours my dogs condition worsened dramatically. We took her back to the vet the very next morning, and Dr. Brad completed x-rays on her belly. The X-Rays concluded that her lungs were filling up with fluid (the IV FLUID). He THEN decided to complete blood work. The blood work revealed that she had low protein in her blood and that her body couldnt process fluids. He informed us that we needed to rush her to a vet hospital immediately, and that she might not make it there. If he had completed this blood work two days ago, we wouldnt be in this position!!! We ended up spending thousands of dollars at a vet hospital to save our dog, all because Dr. Brad did not follow protocol. Think about it, when you go to the hospital for "flu" like symptoms, the hospital always does blood work before giving you an IV. Please DO NOT take your animal there. I would not want anyone else or any other animal to go through this experience ever!!!!

Would not recommend, especially for first tome pet owners; you will get ripped off. Constantly pushed me to get more and more done to my cat than what he actually needed. When I refused unnecessary procedures, the doctor kept trying to sell them to me. He does a good job at trying to convince you, but Ive had plenty of healthy cats and I know what does and doesnt need to be done. He even almost went through with a procedure without my knowledge (even after I refused the process twice) until one of the helping nurses let me know he was just about to do it, and I had to say no once again. They force you to get procedures done to your pet even if you refuse so that they can make their money. They dont give you the right to choose for YOUR own pet. Again, wouldnt recommend, especially for first time pet owners because youll get ripped off. I do not feel comfortable entrusting them with my pets; seems like the doc makes commission off of how many procedures he can complete in a day.

My 18 year old cat took a turn for the worse this past weekend. Growing up, she visited this vet regularly. Since that time, I have moved downtown and her vet visits were sparse. Over the weekend I was researching local vets/options for where to take her. I was mortified reading the reviews of so many vets in the downtown area. I opted to drive out to Pleasant Valley as they had her records. Fortunately, I had mentally prepared myself for the worst because that was the recommendation of the vet. It was a day that I have been dreading for years. That being said, the complete professionalism, courtesy and compassion from the staff made such an awful experience a little bit better. My sincere appreciation to the staff here.

Dr Stephanie deserves all 5 stars. I have had experiences here that werent as great with other vets, but now I see only her for my cat. What impresses me the most is how she remembers him from one visit to the next. Of course I think my cat is the best, but she really likes him, too. At Christmas time my cat needed some teeth removed, which is likely to be expensive. She really worked with us to keep the procedures cost down so we didnt have to use our whole Christmas budget or put him down. I nearly cried with gratitude when I got the bill. Actually, I think I did cry. Thanks Dr Stephanie!

I worked as a veterinarian for this clinic for 3 1/2 years and I can tell you that you will not find a better vet clinic. All the vets are wonderful, kind and compassionate. This place truly has a family feel and your pets will be treated like members of their family. The doctors all have excellent skills and the clinic has the most modern equipment but most of all a great heart. I recommend this clinic to all my family and friends and they treat them like their own family! I wish they would relocate to Colorado (where I am now) but my loss is your gain!

My dog recently had surgery for bladder stones. It was a difficult decision for me because my dog is older and blind, but Dr. Mike thoroughly explained the risks of not getting the surgery. I totally trusted leaving my dog in his hands and in the care of his staff. He worked with me to accommodate my schedule because there is a lot going on in my life at the moment. He answered all my questions (I had a lot) and addressed all my concerns. Thank you to Dr. Mike and his staff for taking such good care of my precious gem.
