I have never been as uncomfortable as I was sitting in the exam room. I had the paper gown on only to have it removed while being examined in my bra and panties. I got the feeling the office is more about quantity than quality. Every time Ive gone into the office I cant get all my questions out and answered before Im rushed out the door. Ive been wanting one bump removed on my shin for over a year now and it wasnt until I had a crying melt down in the office before it was removed because he stated that he had already removed one little mole he was concerned about, and he didnt want the lab to be confused.... This would be the absolute only doctor Ive ever had to convince to do something to my own body. They are only willing to address one thing when you go in and everything else needs to be made into another appointment. Seriously? Has anyone gone into the dermatologist for only one thing? I could see that if there is cancer they are treating. But someone like me who has a lot of skin moles and various other things, I only get one thing to talk about. Its hard enough for me to come in once with small children. I have to find a babysitter and its not always easy. Needless to say i became "one of those patients" the office staff talks about, which is fine because I have no intention of ever returning. One big word of advice, go to a dermatologist with an background in cosmetics before you start removing moles or bumps, or you will end up like me with big, ugly scars. Dont learn the lesson too late like I did. Find someone with better bedside manner, that doesnt make you feel like an idiot for trying to do whats right for you and your body.

I saw Dr. Carter and it felt like an assembly line. I went to this doctor because I have ethnic skin and I assumed since she was Black, she knew how to treat my skin. I dont think this is an area she has passion for, which is sad. Also she seemed hurried to get through with me and did not offer any viable solutions to my problems. When I asked her questions she tried to rush the visit by finishing my questions before I could. She was very rude and the visit was a waste of my valuable time and money. I will never go back and would not recommend her. I was a new patient, and there was absolutely no treatment plan given to assist me with future issues with my skin. I could have been treating skin with battery acid, as far as she was concerned as long as she got her $150.00 bucks. Awful.....I will have to keep going to Dr. Raymond Blackburn until I can find someone who can and has the desire and ability to treat ethnic skin in a consultative manner.

Absolutely horrible! If there was a rating less than 1 star Id give them that. Being new to the area and away from my regular dermatologist I made an appointment here and was seen by Heidi. She was not helpful at all, extremely rude and insensitive and used bully tactics to push expensive treatments at me. At the end of the appointment when I stated that I did not want to be put on a certain medication due to other health concerns she said quote " What do you want me to do create a magic cure?!" and then insisted that I leave. The entire time I was there I felt that she only wanted to push high priced options at me that I have already tried in the past with no success. There was no conversation of alternative options or even small samples of things I could try. It was either you try this option or leave. Trust me, save your money and go anywhere else. I have never left a doctors office crying but I did there.

Moving here from Ohio, I was not looking forward to finding new doctors. I hit the jackpot with Dr. Desai. Having trouble with adult acne and on oral medications that were no longer working, Dr. Desai immediately changed my course of therapy. He took time to explain the choices I had and the benefits/limitations of each. I am doing UV blue light therapy and am already encouraged by the results! I also brought my 7 year old daughter to Dr. Desai for another opinion on a skin condition she was experiencing. As it turns out, she was misdiagnosed twice and now Dr. Desai has her on the right treatment. The entire staff is friendly and professional. He also has a registered nurse, Kezia Mirzadeh, certified in medical aesthetics. I have had a wonderful facial and chemical peel. Dr. Desai and Kezia work together to determine what my skin needs in between my UV light treatments. I couldnt be happier!

My son had keloid removal from his ear lobes by Dr. Carter. We had delays due to the insurance questions and she waited over 1 hour for the issue to be resolved without rescheduling. Unfortunately, the insurance did not cover the procedure but we were fortunate to be able to afford the cost for the removal. Dr. Carter allowed me to witness the procedure and she was EXCELLENT. We followed her from the Cedar Hill location to Plano because we really like her hospitality and service. I have been seeing Dr. Desai for issues in my scalp that has resulted in hair loss. He immediately recognized the issue and started treatment. Heidi was wonderful in making sure I was comfortable while administering injections in my scalp. The service and hospitality was EXCELLENT.

I highly recommend Dr. Desai. I have been procrastinating about going to the dermatologist to have some bumps looked at on my face for years. I finally decided to go in and his office fit me in within the week for a Dec 23rd appointment. I wanted to take advantage of having fully met my medical deductible if possible. He stayed late the Friday before Christmas so I could be seen. Most doctors "shut down" the month of December, but not a caring physician like Dr. Desai. I ended up having 46 bumps lasered off. I would only trust Dr. Desai to work on my face. I already gave his name out to two other friends and my husband is going for a consult as well. Excellent care, super staff, very thorough, explained everything.

Dr. Desai is very conservative with his skin cancer checks...he does biopsies far more than he should and he doesnt just take a little off to have it tested. I have scars that I dont like, for biopsies that were benign freckles. Some people may not care, but he should be more concerned with the cosmetics of what he is leaving us with.

Dr. Desai is very helpful and knowledgable in the field. After seeing him for my hormonal cystic acne my skin began clearing up within the first week! Also PA, Heidi Cook, is extremely detailed and accurate in her dermatological assessments. The office staff is helpful. Overall an excellent practice!
