I have used this veterinarian the past several months for my dogs vaccines and check ups until I decided to neuter him (the surgery was scheduled for today. They asked me to take the dog early in the morning (at 8 am); however, six hours later they called me to tell me that the dog hurt his foot "mysteriously in his cage" and they could not do the surgery. When I picked my dog up around 3:30 he was limping severely on one leg and he can barely walk. The clinic came with many excuses, including the argument saying that my dog is very active and they could not explain how my dog got hurt that bad. I am so concerned he is at home right now with his leg shaking and he seems very uncomfortable. I am very disappointed for such of lack of professionalism and care, although I do have to recognize that they are really good in ripping people off with high fees and extra costs. I do not recommend this place at all. As some other reviews below I recommend to switch vets and hope they go out of business soon. We need a professional veterinarian in the neighborhood.

Dr. Yao is a superb vet. Probably the best in Miami. The minute you enter his establishment with your sick animal, you are warmly welcomed and seen immediately. Dr. Yao is kind and understanding, When I arrived with my sick cat Aphro (I even showed up without an appointment and was seen, there and then), he diagnosed him on the spot. When I brought Aphro home after several days, Dr. Yao and/or a member of his staff rang me each day to make sure Aphro was improving and that I was handling his treatment correctly. The staff, Anna, Andy to name just a few are smart, sharp, well-trained and so kind to the animals. Yaos is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and if you are looking for a vet, look no further. They are efficient, have a clear understanding of the expense a sick animal incurs and wont add anything on to your animals treatment that is not vital. I couldnt be more pleased!

I joined Yelp just so I could write this review. Dr. Yao and his staff took care of my dogs for almost 10 years. One of them made it to 16 this summer and the other to 15 this Christmas. Although they both had a share of health issues, their last days were happy and full of life. Every time my pets confronted a new hurdle , Dr. Yao and i talked it through from a health perspective, a financial perspective and a quality of life perspective. As I had to say goodbye to each of them Dr. Yao and his staff cried with me. As with everything in life, some staff are better than others, some moments you do not get people at their absolute best but I ony wish I could find human primary care physicians who balanced the physical/mental/emotional health of the patient and the care taker with the same grace

In August 2011 we took our Yorkshire terrier back for teeth cleaning & asked if they took Care Credit Visa; they did not & since we had just moved from that area across town we didnt have enough cash to have the work done & went to another vet, Yao had been our usual vet. In February 2012 we went back to Yao for annual shots; there was a new worker/doctor; short & nasty, a woman we had never seen. She was rude, cursed at us, gave bad advise; I was floored by the unprofessional treatment; have sworn to never return and hope they go out of business. I have since found a wonderful vet. Do yourself and your pet a favor; stay away; save your money, forego poor service, & grief. They also did not properly enter notes in the pets folder.

They have been amazing to my dogs and cats problems and solved everything without a hiccup. All I can remember once I had an issue with an older man who I hadnt ever seen before work there one weekend and he was a waste of time. I only saw him the one time, but other than that its been great. They are a little more expensive, but its worth it if you only have to take your pet in a few times a year. I do have a dog that has some allergy problems so it has been a bit costly the first couple of years. I have since moved from Miami and miss their services, but my mom and brother go there if there are any emergencies with their pets.

I have to say that my only good experience was the first visit. Every visit that I have had since then has not been very pleasant. Waiting has not been an issue and luckily for me they are open on Saturday mornings. Only bad thing about going in on a Saturday is that Dr. Yao is not there, so you are seen by a Vet that isnt familiar with your pet and it seems like they just want to get you out of there as soon as possible so they can continue with their weekend. They charge for everything possible and Im glad I moved from that area because now I have no reason to go back.

When first opened this place was great .Over time they have gotten so bad that i am finally switching vets.Over the years the satff has become quite negligent even once letting an unauthorized neighbor check out my cat , without my permission.I almost left then but they wrere appologetic and i stayed.Their appointments no longer have meaning .You will still wait in line even if you have an appointment.Today the last straw sat in waiting room while 2 people were taken ahead of me even though they came in later and had no appointments either.

Dr. Yao and all of his staff are super knowledgeable, nice and friendly. You can tell they love helping animals. I took my mini schauzer because she was sick with bloody stools. They took her immediately, and she was seen right away. The pricing is great too!! And they do not try to over sell or perform unnecessary treatments or exams. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I will definetly keep coming here for all Pookies needs!

This is the best place I have ever been, the staff is out standing and the Dr. is a great guy, I live on a fixed income and they worked with me on treating my cat ( FACE) Now he was no happy about the shot but when we got home he was a happy camper.

Sensitive doctor & crew. Very supportive and good explanations of whats happening to my pet. rates are affordable compared to the good quality of attention. Unfortunately, they dont have Emergency service.

this place has class and the doctor actually has patience and really cares. Ive had so many bad experiences being ripped off by Vets in Miami, who use scare tactics, this was a refreshing change.
