I am 70yrs old, & have had a number of pets while living here in the South Hills, 44 years. Of course, I required & visited Vetinary Facilities throughout this span. Sometime in the middle, for a number years my family & I traveled to Penn Hills, because we appreciated & respected a particular highly recommended Doctor there. Then moving forward, sometime between the last pet & our brand new one, we had heard about a particular local clinic. When the time came, it was on to see them. Soon, Id say, after a couple visits we moved back into search mode. And OMG, we then had on top of that, yet again another but extremly disappointing & expensive, exhausting & emotional experience. And believe me, this time had followed a good bit of effort, searching & researching, to find recommended quality Vetinary Services. And Oh p~l~e~a~s~e, I was sure there were, had to be, a good number of fine Animal, Medical People out there & within our area! OK ok Now, NEEDLES TO SAY, AFTER MY 5☆s, & likely considering what Ive been getting at from the above ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ 10 or 15 Star Story, you have picked-up on message. WE TRULY HAVE FOUND HOME-BASE. See here, it was my daughter, from Bethel, who said to me "I LOVE LOVE LOVE OUR NEW VET!" And ☆we ☆do ☆concur, with the LOVE LOVE LOVE part. I want to shout out "to whom it may concern" that we have never seen or felt such kind & knowledgeable devotion, in this specialty. Her bedside manner is beautiful & inspiring, plus a noted high regard is demonstrated to the animals family (&this can include their pocketbook too). ALL OF WHICH CAN NOT BE BEAT, thats East, West, North or South! So with pure satisfying relief, plus pleasure, we give our whole hearted recommendations, for Dr.Leia & her staff! I have been going to Companions first for about 2 years now. I am a complete animal lover and will do anything for my little guys (2 dogs, 2 cats - except that becomes 4 when my daughter is home from out of town, 1 parrot). I have been to several vets over the years. I have a low trust level with vets... always have. Well, that is over now. I know that Dr. Goodell will take the best care she can possibly give to my loved ones! She actually takes TIME with the animals, getting to know and their owners first. Her exams are very complete and has always given me options for treatments. I want to be consulted about treatment....just when I was at a pediatrician with one of my children! No one knows your pet better than YOU! Dr. Goodell is a GREAT listener! Her support staff makes it a point of knowing every animal and owner that comes in, too!! I cant tell you how much it means to me that she is our vet!! I feel relieved after each and every appointment. I always feel she has the diagnosis right on the nose. Do yourself a favor....switch vets to Companion First.

Initially went to contiune to control a thyroid issue in our boxer. Even after continuing with thyroid medication out boxers health and quality of life did not improve. We tried to talk to the vet about other possible options (different medication, changing dosage, other possible health issues, etc) but they refused to listen to us and continued to say progress with the medication and dosage and he should do better eventually. Well unfortunately eventually never came. These vets neglected to fully evaluate our boxer and missed clear signs of cardiomyopathy, cardiomegaly, and cardiac stenosis. Thankfully another clinic and excellent veterinarian was able to quickly identify these symptoms and conducted tests to find out what his condition was like, when his health turned for the worst, and was able to provide us with some help to try and help him live out his time as comfortable as possible. If I could I would give 0 stars but they lucked out that Google does not allow that.

I have lived in a lot of places, and our dogs and cats have had a lot of veterinarians over the years. This Dr. Leia Goodell and her staff are the kindest and most caring people that Ive encountered in a Vets office. I have been very happy with the professionalism, the quality of care, the post-visit followups, and the level of genuine concern for my fuzzy friends.

Every one of the employees is very friendly and go out of their way to make your pet at ease while they are there. They are all very compassionate and show much concern for all of the sick animals. Companions First is very reasonably priced. .....and Dr. Leah is the best. As long as they are around I will never go anywhere else!

I love this place!! Dr. Goodell is the best, she loves all of her patients, she treats them with love and kindness, she is also great with the families. The staff is so wonderful well knowledgeable, friendly, loves all the pets. I would highly recommend taking your pet here!! Family and friendly atmosphere.

This is the best vet in the South Hills! I have a German Shepherd and the vet there Leia Goodell knows the breed very well! The prices are they best you can find and the staff is A+! You can tell that they care about animals! Will always go to this vet as long as I have pets!

Love them.. prices are very good and they explain the prices. My dog has had a bloody discharge from his nose the Receptionist and the Techs and Dr. Goodall was wonderful Gus gives them 5 stars... Clean, efficient and professional.

Fabulous! Dr. Leia Goodell is smart, kind and really knows what she is doing. My pup loves her too - she sits down on the floor and interacts with him and makes him feel totally comfortable. The staff members are great too.

Everyone thier is so kind. I have boxer and they treat her so nice. I could not ask for a better vet. I just had her in for her legs and the vet took her time and talk to me.
