I have to disagree with the previous writer who said he was transferring service. There are no perfect medical facilities either for humans or animals. Wait times are often par for the course and after experiencing serious health issues with myself and my animals, I have come to realize that when I have to wait a long time it is because some other animal or human is suffering more than mine. I have had worse wait times in other vet clinics and the excellent service makes up for the wait. (which is not often) I transferred to Poquoson when my other clinic was simply so busy that I didnt feel as if I was getting quality and personal service for my animals. I went through the death of my 15 year old lab there and they couldnt have been more supportive and professional. Even though I was a mess and extremely emotional, they didnt miss a beat. I also went through a dog that had cancer and it was really difficult and sensitive and the vets were always honest with me. I also have a special needs dog who is fearful and they have helped me with his care tremendously.. I would recommend this office to anyone who has a pet who they want treated with special care. If my fearful dog can wait for his appointment and not complain, anyone can. :) TaMarah Brown

My family has been going to Todd lane vet hospital for every animal they have ever owned. I was originally going to go there till I ran into this nice young woman that said she worked at this hospital. I thought I would give them a try and all I can say is I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them from the medical staff and office staff. They all seem to really love what they do and care about the well being of your pets. I noticed some people have posted about how they had to wait long periods of time before even seeing the veterinarian. I havent experienced this problem any time that I have gone to this vet. The only negative thing I could say about this vet is about the office manager. Every time that I have gone there, she hasnt been rude to me, she just comes off as if she doesnt enjoy being there. Though this is just the vibe that I have gotten. I could be wrong. I will say even when I got that vibe she was still professional when interacting with her.

Ive been taking my pets to the Poquoson Veterinarian Hospital for about 18 months. I like the veterinarians and technicians that work there. So Im saddened to say I am changing clinics. This clinic is run very poorly. Multiple times I have waited over 40 minutes in the waiting room for my appointment. This is unacceptable. To further rub salt in the wound I filled out an email survey two days after my latest appointment. I took the time to detail my dissatisfaction with how the clinic is managed and did not receive a response. Again my time was wasted. Im in the military and change vets every few years. So I have experience with no less than eight clinics in the past fifteen years. I dont feel as the Poquoson Veterinarian Hospital is run efficiently. They certainly do not value their customers. Luckily there are plenty of other veterinarians clinics just up the road.

Recently added two guinea pigs to my home, patches and buzz. Was overly worried about one of my boys and was recommended this veterinarian clinic, which is also very close to where I live. The front staff was nice and knowledgeable, the vet tech I had was awesome (thank you for standing by as I sweat through my first nail clipping), and Dr. Gibson was a rock star! She got down to business, but I could tell she enjoyed her job and has her own guinea pigs as well. The only downside is the wait time, they are definitely very busy, but they fit me in on the same day I called, so I cant complain to much. The money was well spent and my pigs will be getting some much needed meds as well. Would recommend and will definitely use them again, just be aware of how busy they may be.

My first experience here was several years ago. We had purchased a mouse at Petco, it was sneezing so we called Petco. They wanted to mouse returned to them (they would have killed the little guy!), but we insisted on a Vet, according to their purchase agreement. We were sent to Poquoson Veterinary Clinic. That mouse received amazing service, as though she was the most important patient they had. We are now there for our rabbit. Again, we are receiving amazing service from warm, caring staff. Our rabbit was near death. It looks like she will pull through. The doctors answered many questions, explained all options thoroughly, and were very kind. I would not hesitate to bring your exotics (including reptiles) to this office. Very grateful for them!

My family has been going here for years and now that Im grown and moved out with my own pets, I bring my animals there as well. Dr. Gibson oversees my dogs care and she couldnt be more of a sweetheart. She genuinely cares about each of her patients and is just a joy to see. My mothers cat swallowed a needle and needed stomach surgery; Dr. Gibson went out of her way to give my mom a call from her vacation time to see how the cat was recovering. Ive been working with her and the folks at Poquoson Vet for several months now and I wouldnt dream of taking my animals elsewhere. My dog has become notorious for his chill personality while at the vet because he gets so much positive attention that he doesnt fear the clinic at all. 5 stars for sure!

We recently lost our beloved 15 year old dog, Maddie, and from the very beginning of her life until the very end, Poquoson Vet has been there. Dr. Ashworth and the entire staff are kind, available, knowledgeable, and thorough. I respect their attention to detail and think that they perfectly blend clinical skill and decision-making with empathy. Thank you to Poquoson Vet for giving our Maddie the best care possible and for helping us say "good-bye" when it was time.

I brought my 16 year-old Chihuahua in for her last visit to the Poquoson Veterinary Hospital. The whole staff was very professional but yet compassionate to both my dog and me. Throughout the process, Hillary was very considerate, and while moving Mia, she cradled her as if Mia was hers. Dr. Williams explained the process which helped softened the inevitable. Mias paw print was a very nice remembrance. Thank you all very much. Tim Kozlowski

My pets get the very best of care with the Poquoson Veterinary Hospital. The staff is wonderful, they clearly care about the pets theyre entrusted with, and they make sure all concerns and questions are answered. They know repeat pets by name, they make sure customers know how to get discount coupons on the more expensive RX pet foods, and just in general are great folks to take your furry friends to.

They went above and beyond. The veterinarian pulled some strings and we were able to get my dog in for emergency surgery the next morning. They kept my husband and I updated the entire time. Not only did they do amazing work to save his life, but the price didnt break the bank. 10/10 would recommend. Extremely caring and compassionate with your fur babies.
