Rude and Unprofessional Staff. Since moving to Baltimore over three years ago I have been taking my two dogs to Light Street Animal Hospital. Although I didnt find anything spectacular about this animal hospital (I went to the same vet for many years while living in Maine. I was used to the vet in Maine and Light Street was different which is probably why I didnt find anything spectacular about it), I also never had an issue with the doctor himself so I continued going there. That changed today when I was treated extremely rudely by the staff. After bringing my golden retriever to the groomer I was told she has an ear infection and I should stop by my vet to get her medication. I walked in expecting it to be a simple visit, explaining my dog has an ear infection, paying for the medication, and walking out. However, I was told they cant do anything unless I set up an appointment with the doctor. Given that my golden is completely up to date with all her shots and everything else, she has the ear infection now, and my work schedule makes it difficult to set up an appointment at a set time in the future I was hoping they would work with me to get this taken care of. Instead, the receptionist was very rude and I all I received was an "I dont care" attitude. Later in the day I realized the appointment I did make was not going to work and I called back. Again whoever answered the phone was very rude, and after some conversation I finally said "Maybe I will just take my dog somewhere else." The answer I got was a sarcastic "Fine" and she hung up on me mid conversation. According to many of these reviews it appears Dr. T is a good animal doctor, but his staff is very rude and unprofessional.

After seeing a couple of negative reviews about Light Street Animal Hospital and Dr. T., I feel moved to write a review of my own. You will never find a more compassionate animal lover than Dr. T. When I first started going to Light Street, I based the decision on price, but after the first visit with my four dogs, I knew Dr. T. would be their doctor forever. He allowed me to bring all four dogs in at once, but still took excellent individual care of each of them. He remembers each dog when I bring them separately. He tries holistic approaches when possible. He is never condescending about any home diagnostics. He listens to me when I explain whats happening with them. And he returns phone calls the same day, identifying himself as "John," and taking however much time is needed to discuss the matter at hand. When my very old pug was ready to go to the bridge, I asked Dr. T. to come to my home instead of doing it at his office, and he immediately said yes and came over. Johnny was able to go in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by everything he loved and was familiar with. He hugged me and consoled me when I cried, and carried Johnny away wrapped in a blanket, with dignity. Ive moved to Virginia, three hours away from Light Street Animal Hospital, but I cant find a vet to match Dr. Ts kindness, knowledge and accommodating attitude. So were headed up to Baltimore next week, now five dogs, all going in at the same time, to visit Dr. T for all the vaccinations, and to have the new addition to the home checked out. Its worth every bit of gas and inconvenience to go see this wonderful doctor.

I just moved to Baltimore for school and with the reviews for this place I decided to give it a try. I have a savannah cat which is a hybrid cat and Im very selective of who sees him cause of special ways he has to be dealt with for surgeries. My first and only visit my first impression was a rather unprofessional environment. The techs just told me the room to go into and didnt lead me back there or come back to do preliminary stuff. My girlfriend (a vet tech and in vet school) and I sat in the exam room for over 10 minutes with no one coming in but heard the other room get cleared out, have someone else come in and the doctor come in. We left after that and have not been back. A few more negatives a dog with suspected kennel cough was allowed to sit in the lobby where it could spread to any unvaccinated dogs. The doctors degree is in written in Spanish. The doctor (or who I think was the doctor) wasnt dressed in scrubs rather pants and a t-shirt was standing at the receptionist desk and talking to the techs when I left as I told them that we waited in the room for a long amount of time and he didnt apologize or say he would come in. I do not recommend this vet at all. I found a cheaper much nicer looking vet at city pets a few blocks away.

Ive been to many veterinary and animal hospital establishments over the years and must recognize Light Street Animal Hospital as one of the few places where excellent service meets fair pricing. Moreover, every time I had a pet-scare, the staff at Light Street were able to squeeze me in to make sure urgent needs were met in a timely manner. The staff was very helpful, fair, understanding and prompt whenever I needed information or service (i.e., answering questions about care/pricing or faxing documents). Additionally, veterinary doctor, Dr. T, took excellent care of my dog. As a result, my dog has no vet-related anxiety and is even eager to enter the building and be seen by the doctor. Every experience was calm and reassuring. Dr. T clearly loves his work and his clients (our pets) and has a skilled, kindly and reassuring nature. Ive moved out of state now, but wish I could bring this veterinary establishment with me. Highly recommended.

What can I say about Dr. Trujillo and his staff............Absolutely fabulous!!!! No doubts that he is a great vet, he has been my vet since 2007 and I will not change my vet even though I have to drive over 30 mins just to get to his office now. Dr. T (as we all know him) is the most kind, caring, honest, sincere and compassionate vet that I have had. He is always conservative in his estimate of things, he tells you as he sees things, he gives you his open honest opinions and best of all, you are not just a "number" of his....you are a person. He is willing to listen to you first and then give his responses. He is never pushy about extra things. I really know that my dogs are in good hands. His staff are always attentive and they are accommodate most reasonable requests, even help with my parking on busy days! Thanks Dr. T and your staff for all your help.

I love the care and concerns Animal Street Hospital staff shows. Dr. T and his staff are the best ever. My cat was blocked and I took him to Falls road animal hospital. They charged me $1.800 dollars to unblock my cat, which he wasnt unblocked, but Falls Rd gave me my cat back the next day. My cat still was blocked and dying. After searching the yellow pages for help ! I prayed and asked God to give me a good caring doctor to help save my cat from dying and that was reasonable, because I didnt have another $1.800 dollars to give again. So I called Dr. T and he only charged me $300. Dollars plus he kept my cat for a week to make sure he recovered before releasing him. He is definitely heaven sent and as long as I have animals I will forever bring my babies to Light Street Animal Hospital. Thanks Dr. T and staff !!!
