Craig Road Animal Hospital used to be great, but they no longer call us when test results are in. We thought that maybe the first two times were exceptions, but it is more like the rule now. The first time, they did not call to let us know that Lita and Natasha were ready to be picked up from their dental cleaning. We had to wait until the next day to pick them up which devastated us because Lita had back problems, so she had to be readjusted throughout the night to sleep properly at home. Who knows if they made her comfortable throughout the night there. A couple other times was for Natashas or Chimeras test results. Recently, our cat, Chimera, had to get a urinalysis done along with a culture. Dr. Major had told us that we were going to get a call back later that day for the urinalysis result. Did not get a call. We called the next day, they told us that both the results had not come back yet. Now we are told that the urinalysis was available the day of, and that we were just waiting for the culture, which came in late last night. Why did we have to call about 2 pm today then? When were we going to get a call? We have no problems with the actual veterinarians, but we do not like being kept in the dark. We are so sick of the lack of follow-up at this place that we have decided to find a better rated AAHA accredited hospital. Maybe Desert Inn Animal Hospital? We found out that its closer too. UPDATE 7/29/17 Even after moving to a better vet hospital, Craig Road Animal Hospital has still been giving me trouble! After I moved my pets to Desert Inn Animal Hospital, I called Craig Road Animal Hospital 3 times requesting them to fax over my pets medical records. They assured me that each time after the first that they did, but hey theyll do it again. Desert Inn Animal Hospital received none of their "faxes". I went in-person to ask for the records. I was told that because my husbands name was the primary one on the account that I would have to bring him by and have him show them his identification. I was annoyed because I have never had this problem with any other animal hospital...ever. So, next week, I brought my husband with me, which is difficult for us because he is a disabled veteran, and is constantly in pain. Gizel at the front told me that she would have to have the doctor review it before releasing it, and that I should get a call back. By the way, she DID NOT have to check my husbands I.D. because my name is also on the account. I cannot believe the other assistant wasted my time and money driving over there the first time, and made me drag my hurting husband out of the house this time! Did not get a call back the next day. So I came in the day after by myself. Gizel recognized me immediately and asked if I got the call. I said no. She felt really bad and rushed getting me my records herself. She apologized profusely. Gizel seemed to genuinely care, and I believe her customer service is wasted here since that is not the kind of culture they foster here.

My daughter in law took her two year old Chautese here for an irritation on her paw, back in July 2016. The vet there, dug in to her paw, flushed it and wrapped it. Charged $100. It seemed to be better for a while, though not healed completely. In October, I noticed the paw was very red and irritated again,so my husband and I brought her back here since this is where my daughter in law took her initially. The vet we saw, once again dug into her paw, and flushed it.This time, giving her a local anesthetic, I assume because she dug a little deeper, and it would be more painful. She gave us an antibiotic and pain meds to take home, charged us $291.00 and told us to come back in a few days. I waited five, went back in and was told it wasnt any better. They rewrapped it and charged me $62.00 for that. She gave me two estimates, one for $435.00 that included an xray and a second that was for $468 that included a biopsy. The only two choices they gave me. Because I dont have $500 laying around the house to pay them, my husband and I waited a few more days, but I was getting very worried because her paw was continuing to worsen. We take our dog, Ruby to Banfield, so my husband decided to take her to see them today. We have always been pleased with the service they have provided our dog. Lo and behold the Vet there did a simple test. Turns out she has a bacterial infection. They gave us the CORRECT meds to treat it and directions to take care of it. Apparently, the antibiotics that Craigroad gave us were wrong, another reason it wasnt better. The cost was $90. I was so happy our little puppy was going to be ok, but I was really disgusted that Craigroad animal hospital did this to us. If we would have gone back to Craigroad, the bill would have gotten to well over $1000.00 and we still would not have gotten a cure. Really? An xray? If they would have done the simple test for bacteria or fungus the first time, my daughter in law took her, our sweet little dog would not have suffered so long. But then, they wouldnt have been able take us for close to $600.00. They almost had us for $1000.00. Thank goodness for Banfield, a real animal hospital I called Craigroad and asked to speak with someone in charge. I got Chad. He said he was a manager. I told him all of the above, but I could tell right off the bat, I would get nowhere. He said he was sorry I felt this way, but their vets do tests to rule thIngs out and all vets are different in how they deal with a situation. Either this place has no clue what they are doing or they are just in it to rip off people who love their pets. I think it is a little of both and I would not recommend this place to anyone that loves their pet. If you want a correct diagnosis at a reasonable price, DO NOT take your pet here. Unfortunately, it was a $600.00 lesson, I wont have to learn again. My granddaughters dog will be just fine. No thanks to this place.

Im getting ready to bring our sweet baby Heart in tomorrow for her "Big Girl" surgery & caught up on her shots and routine examine health/ check up. I would like to thank CRAH- if it was not for your entire hospital and staff Heart would not be here alive now and have made it passed 5 months old- she just turned 5 in September. Before Heart we had Little Bear and with him was our first introduction to CRAH. They saved both of our Shiba Inus lives Heart & Little Bear who has since gone to the rainbow bridge. We didnt know about pet stores and thats where we got Bear in 07. We call both our rescue babies as we did save their lives from their start in a puppymill then to a "death $hop" - with the help and thanks to CRAH they both where saved. Little Bear was beyond sick he was knocking on deaths front door. If you know the gimmick of how these death store$ oops I meant pet store- how they operate and with their "free vet" visit then you understand what we went through pneumonia- incubation nebulizer treatments for both both of them . My grandma accidently let Little Bear out Jan of 09 when he was about a 1 1/2 old he was hit on the 215. My mom went to the same pet store traumatized over Bear and come home with Heart. Same thing all over with the pneumonia but she was even more sick than what we had already been through. There are just no words that you can express when it comes to saving lives and thats exactly what happened for our family 2 seperate times their lives where saved inside your hospital. Our little Heart girl is the glue that holds our family together she is our reason for living breathing and existing my girl is our lives. Now she is getting ready for her "Big Girl" surgery tomorrow.. Why now at 5 years old? Well we are bringing home our Shikoku puppy within a week and we have to get Heart ready so they will get along better and hopefully she wont exert her dominance as much after her surgery. The Shikokus are the rarest out of the 6 native Japanese dog species going back to 12,000 BC the Shiba Inus date early as 5,000 BC. There are only 3 Shikoku breeders within the US they are a very rare breed in the wntire world. The mother and father of our Kima girl are very famous in the dog & show world her father is on the cover of books and magazines. This is the first generation within their bloodlines to be born within North America we only demand the best for our special girls (every life is special no life more so than another) and just like Heart when she was a puppy this is where we are going to take Kima of course also. The only difference this time around is my puppy is healthy and not knocking on deaths front door as Heart was and will actually be looking forwa rd to this experience this time around- and because of you all we can I just want to extend my sincere gratitude thanks and appreciation for truly giving me my "Heart" back to myself and our family
