Took my injured 10 yr old domesticated feral cat who is PETRIFIED with anything new and unfamiliar. She has been an indoor cat since the day we took her in when we learned she was pregnant. 9 years ago Dr. Jacobs spayed her and the 4 kittens she delivered (we found homes for 3 & kept the last born) in our large bathroom closet. He was so gentle and caring. We started taking our other pets there after that, because of their flexible hours and started seeing Dr. Andrea Niggemeir when she joined the practice. Dr. Niggemeier left the practice and we liked her so much, we started seeing her elsewhere. Dr. Niggemeier was on vacation this week so we gave Wissahickon a call. They squeezed us in on a holiday weekend and met Dr. Dana Yard (new owner). First of all, the overgrown run down building I had remembered was totally overhauled (thanks to Dr. Yards husbands talents) & the place was so much brighter, Extremely Clean and tastefully remodeled. Great, compassionate staff. I had a very short wait, but most of all I was astonished at how our cat Snickers felt so comfortable with Dr. Yard. It was magical - no one in our family could pick her up but Snickers was so at ease with Dr. Yard. Dr Yard clearly has a deep affection for animals and was so patient and caring. Snickers hated the car ride, but it was well worth it. The charges were very fair with a great outcome. THANK YOU DR. YARD

The staff at the vet is AMAZING! I was very worried that I wouldnt have a safe place for my kitties when I relocated from MT this month. I already have a job in Philly, but it will take me a while to find a place. Im staying with a relative with a cat allergie and I need to keep my 3 therapy/companion kitties. They have been the only place that will board for more then two weeks at a time AND they were truly genuine in showing concern with all of my questions. It is a relief knowing my babies will have a temporary home with loving folks! They will definitely continue to be my cats vet after the boarding too! Bridget is the BEST!

I called there because my dog did not eat in days and was throwing up yellow orange stomach flem. I wasnt going to get paid for a few days and asked them if he can be seen and I would give them my debit card to pull moneynoutntwo days later. They basically laughed. The children, girls, who answer the phone should be working at McDonalds and not a vet hospital. So they could careless how sick my dog was, definitely didnt put the animal first. I found Dr walls, in German town. He saw and treated my dog and said "dont worry about it. I never turn an animal down. " THAT IS A REAL VET AND THAT IS WHAT REAL VETS DO.

We had to bring in two very unhappy cats for their shots and annuals. The vet techs were so gentle when our cats were scared and sweet and understanding. Dr. Dana Yard was really wonderful with them as well. I wanted to microchip and get a prescription for my cats and considering we had an office appt., 3 shots in two cats, microchipping, and prescriptions, the price was really reasonable. I also really loved how gentle they were with my cats. Dr. Yard made me feel at ease and showed how much she loves animals in every way she interacted with them. Im so happy with this office I wont go anywhere else.

Ive had animals my entire life and this is by far the best vet hospital Ive ever dealt with. I have a two year old pit Lola who can be a real handful. Unfortunately she ate one of my slippers and ended up with an obstruction in her stomach and intestines. The lead vet and a vet tech took Lola in in the middle of the night and did surgery to remove the obstructions. As a pet owner its a very scary experience but they made me feel at ease not only by their skills but by their genuine care for my dogs well being. I would recommend them to anyone hands down!

I took my cat in today for the first, and last, time. The office staff and vets were very nice, but I spent all of 10 minutes with a vet. In those 10 minutes, he listened to her heart, touched her, and answered a few questions. Then he gives me a medicine to treat a problem I very clearly told him she does not have. Unless you have something that can be obviously diagnosed / routine, Id recommend looking elsewhere.

Your check-ups for my pets are thorough and you explain everything about my pet so I understand. I have recommended you to many people. I wont go anywhere else. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Theyre under new management and Dana is amazing. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Theyre doing a lot of work fixing the place up so its a bit loud and dusty at the moment but the changes look amazing. Theyve taken an older, dumpy looking vet and made it look like a modern, clean operation.

When I first dropped off my dog here to board her for 2 nights, she was absolutely terrified. When i came to pick her up, not only was she ecstatic to see me, but she was almost just as excited to see the vets and vet techs. Seems that she made some new friends.

We had to euthanize our wonderful dog Sadie. The veterinarian and staff were wonderful. My daughter and I could hardly breathe, we were so sad, and they showed our dog, and us, great compassion. Sadie left us peacefully and Im so glad we went to this group.

Best vet weve ever had! Was a bit worried when it changed hands, but OMG its even better! Dr. Yard is a dream: very caring, attentive, and knowledgable. Staff are also fantastic. The renovations are great. We have three animals, so we rely on this place often.
