I need to write this review of Creature Comforts as I see it. First of all I have to rave about Dr. Karins practice, she gives 150% and expects no less from her staff, and isnt afraid to let them know it. She also let us know she expects they give the best customer service, and they do. I have never gone away from there with any questions left unanswered. The information that is given to us is always given and reviewed so they know that we understand everything. I would rather walk into a practice that has papers and things on a desk with a room full of people than to go into an office with everything in its place and no one in waiting room. The office is a very busy place so you know there are a ton of people who love this place as much as we do. After all we are not there to see what papers are laying around, we are there to get excellent care for our "fur and feathered" babies. I will admit the rooms are small, but when I asked about that a long time ago, I was told this... a dog who can get away in a bigger room is harder to get ahold of... it makes perfect sense. again, we are not there for the décor, we are there for the care we receive. I have called there in the middle of the day, the middle of the afternoon and the middle of the night and have gotten answers from Dr. Karin directly or she has given the techs info to give me. I have even gotten calls directly from her at 3 or 4 AM. Now that is a sign of a good , no make that a great vet. Dr. Karins practice is far better than I can describe in this review. I have been to many practices and this one far outweighs them all. The care, the follow up, the dollar amount, yes even if its given before the pet is admitted, just an FYI most vets do that as well is outstanding. That way you know the idea of the cost and what to expect for the care your pet receives. Valley Central makes you put 150.00 down before they take your pet into even look at them!!! Personally and fortunately I have never had to ask for payment arrangements but I have been there when someone was in real need for them, and that woman had no problem setting it up with the staff and I would not have known had she told me how awesome they were to work with her over money issues. Kudos to CC for helping people out when a woman who wants to take care of her baby and they go above and beyond to help her. DR. K, her office and staff are great, keep up that great work... you can bet we will always be back, again and again!!! I have sent many people there and will continue to do so. As far as some of these other reviews... well I see it as either sour grapes or just plain meanness... and all I can say about the negative reviews is... "If bullshit was electricity these people would be a power house".

My Aussie BOOMER was neutered last Monday 14 May, 2012, apparently they had complications and some excess bleeding so he was kept over night.I picked him up Tuesday evening. Wednesdays I took him back because poor dog was so swollen and he was quickly looked at by a technician in the waiting room and was told to put Ice an or cold compresses for 10mins that should do it. I explained he was not eating or drinking and they said it was from being in pain. Well we Iced his package which was still swollen and tender and black n blue Thursday he develops a cough and begins to start vomiting just once. Of course the dog is not eating or drinking anything so another call Friday afternoon to the Creature Comforts they said to give him Chicken broth which will help him cause he is in pain. Friday night he continues this weird cough and is vomiting this flem and green stuff. Saturday comes all to quick now the poor dog hasn t ate anything and won t even drink the broth. So I call Creature Comfort Saturday an explain the situation they said some one would call be back. Never happened so Saturday early afternoon I bring him in and I get yelled at to bring him outside so I did. 30 Minutes later I get some pills for a Kennel Cough and antibiotics and told to go away because he is extremely contagious know one even looked at him. Well today Boomer is in the ICU at Barton Heights Hospital under going all kinds of test being fed with IV and being taken care of by a great and wonderful staff. I will never return to Creature Comforts well my animals will not. I will be returning to retrieve my dogs records and that is about it. I strongly recommend you take your loving pets someplace safe because this is not it...... Update 24 May 2012 after taking my dog (Boomer) to Barton Hospital where he spent 3 days in ICU being treated for Para-influenza, which he contracted from Creature Comforts. His scrotum ruptured which he was in Barton Heights do to the massive swelling from his neutering he received by Creature Comforts. Thank God he was at Barton Heights and they were able to treat it with no complications. Now he might have to undergo another operation, scrotum ablation to remove the excess fluids that might stay in his scrotum. Boomer is now home and resting. I have another dog much old who now has the Para-influenza which he contracted from Boomer, but Barton Heights looked Kinoo over and sent me home with the correct medications to deal with this disease.

We brought our cat in late January since he had a scab that was not healing. The vet assessed the cat, cut some hanging skin off, gave us a collar, and sent my wife on her way. No one requested or scheduled a follow up. The wound kept scabbing but the cat one way or the other kept knocking it off so we figured it just needed time to heal. Around the end of March the wound was not getting better so I called to come back in. My wife called and the technician/secretary mentioned that it was strange that they had not scheduled a follow up. When I brought the cat in the vet tech sort of made me feel bad for not bringing him in sooner and discounted my statement that we had not been instructed to schedule a followup. They brought the cat back and told me that he had cancer and needed surgery immediately to remove his ears. This was the first time that the possibility of cancer was raised and was diagnosed subjectively without any testing. The vet said we were lucky that they had an opening that day a would prepare a quote right away. The quote came back around $900 and I told the vet that I could not commit to the surgery until I spoke with my wife. At that time they said that I needed to sign a form saying that I was taking the cat against medical advice. I stuck around a bit to ask some more questions and a tech came through the office saying "Money Money Money they never have the money" It seemed to me that she was speaking about my case and was unaware that I had not left yet. When I asked to speak to the vet about the cancer the other lady vet came out and was quite rude when I asked her a couple quick questions. Rate of spread, ect.... I took my cat to my previous vet and had the surgery successfully completed. My problems: 1) There was not mention of cancer on our first visit. 2) I felt that there was a hard sell to complete surgery that day to fill out the schedule. 3) Staff should not rudely comment on financial issues. 4) No testing was done or suggested to confirm that is was cancer. 5) When we requested his medical files for my other vet they made it difficult to get and in the file there was no mention of a cancer diagnosis. I have NEVER been treated this way by any doctor. DO NOT GO HERE!
