VERY disorganized with mediocre physicians except in two or three cases. The supporting staff is subpar, disrespectful and obviously hate their jobs, and there is a high turnover. Two of the receptionists who work there told me that they cant even afford the health coverage that Soundview offers them, because its so expensive and crummy. And these are women working in a group doctors office -- one of the most expansive around! Its bad enough that the support personell is pretty awful; weve also survived doctors who were borderline-negligentful, and/or just too busy to be bothered. One of the primary care doctors is visably quite depressed and barely speaks. I wound up in the ER once, when I had a serious staff infection, because my then-doctors assistant forgot to call in a prescription for me. Hard to believe, but true. I have much more to tell but you get my drift. Find another doctor/s. This is "factory" medicine!!!!!
Their office staff is so fresh and rude! You can tell they havent had the proper training as far as customer service goes. The low-class receptionists are BEYOND unprofessional. What a disappointment! And dont even bother taking your complaints higher-up, theyll blow you off all the same. So much for waiting a MONTH for this appointment that I didnt even go into as they made me wait nearly an hour! Walked out! What disrespect. Youre in CT - You should uphold the standards of the state and behave professionally. Respect patients, do your job, and leave your bad attitudes at home and out of the workplace!
Do not recommend, steer clear! I had made a name change on my account in their office, on their web portal, and on the phone and they STILL were making mistakes. The woman who called this morning to confirm an appointment was rude and inconsiderate. The supervisor who called me was apathetic and did not care at all that I was cancelling my appointment and finding another Dr. In the three years going there I rarely saw the same doctor more than twice, as they kept leaving the practice! They were plenty nice and helpful for the most part, as were the nurse practitioners I saw. The rude office staff, billing mistakes, and constantly changing doctors will have me looking for a more stable practice.
I have been requested my refill prescriptions for one week. They havent called my pharmacy yet. I have not having my medication for almost 5 days. Luckily my pharmacy gave a few days medication until my doctor office respond their phone call. So far no one call my pharmacy yet. This is unacceptable!!! Not professional at all! This is not end yet. I have been calling the Soundview and the line is busy for this entire morning. Cant get anybody. This is ridicules!
COMPETENT HEALTH FACILITY! Ive used Soundview for a few years now and for the most part, they have good doctors. I use Dr. Timothy Bookus, DO and hes great. His nurse Rosa is wonderful and very helpful as well. I also have used Dr. Harvey Riback for gastro and hes nice and very comfortable to work with. Dr. Beger is great too. Everyone there is helpful and competent. I would highly recommend this facility as a good place to receive sound medical care.
I would never recommend Soundview. It is like a factory. My new primary-care doctor did not return my phone calls, though I called twice to get the results of blood work I had done in the emergency room. When I was in her office, I asked her to check my nasal passage because I had chronic nose bleeds. She informed me that she didnt have the instrument to look into my nose.
Ive been a patient with this practice since the early 90s. Ive always had the best of care. I find the nurses and all the staff to be knowledgeable, experienced, kind & compassionate. I have experienced the delay in refill approval. When I call the refill into the pharmacy, I call the doctors nurse to leave a heads up and the Rx is filled accordingly.
Twice it took over two weeks for them to respond to CVS to refill a prescription. If I hadnt hounded them I dont know what would have happened. Had to go back for blood work because the tech did not order the tests that the doctor requested. Fairly chaotic and disorganized place.
The doctors and majority of the staff were wonderful. The office manager on the other hand is rude and does not care for the patients. She is not professional and shouldnt be running an office of that size. I am leaving the practice, not because of the doctors but because of her!
I have been pleased. Going on 2 years. Dr. Bookas runs on time yet I have never felt rushed when I am in with him even though I may ask many questions. The communication through the Soundview Portal seems to work well. For me, this practice has been a great find.
The place is understaffed, not enough doctors or nurses, plenty of receptionist discussing among themselves in Spanish about lunch that was two hours away. Lack of customer service, in a few words, "Dont bite off more than you can chew".
A high quality and fully equipped facility (including x-ray, etc) that efficiently schedules, diagnoses and treats patients. Excellent follow-up.
McDonalds of healthcare. While the staff is nice, youll spend more time with the paperwork than your doctor.
