I took my dog in because she had a lump on her butt. Having a history of anal gland problems, I thought they might be related. I was waiting in an exam room when Andrea walks in and says "So your dog needs her anal glands expressed?" Wait minute, I say, Im here because she has a lump on her butt and has a history of anal gland problems, but her anal glands might not need to be expressed. Well, youre going to have to wait then, she says, backing out of the room, because we have three ahead of you. Three ahead of me when I have the first appointment of the day? Yes, three emergencies just walked in. I can prep her, she says, so maybe the doctor can take a quick look at her between emergencies. But I want to know what youre going to be doing with her I say, because she might not need to have her anal glands expressed. Well, (calling my dog by another dogs name) will have to wait, and it might be a while. As she starts to leave I ask whats a while? I have no idea she says. Ill come back later then, I say. Thats why Im offering to get her prepped so the doctor can look at her, she says. Okay then. A couple of minutes later Dr. Cattani walks in and I relay what just happened -- that there was confusion about why my dog was here and was taken away without me really knowing what would be happening with her. "Im sorry youre displeased" is all she has to say. "Lets worry about your dog instead". Zero concern, zero compassion, zero empathy. I have no problem waiting to have my dog looked at, especially when emergency dogs come in, but I still want to know whats going to happen with my dog before she is whisked away, and that shes going to get the same level of care as if there werent three emergencies going on. And when I complain about that, I want some agreement and understanding. The fact that I dont get it tells me its time to find a new vet.

We took our dog here while we lived in WI. It was recommended to us by 2 other families who were longtime dog owners. Were we glad we listened! A caring practice; Dr. Krueger is an excellent listener; The staff is friendly and helpful; As new dog owners we appreciated very much the sensible advice and compassionate listening. We will miss this practice so much!

Dr. Aspan is a wonderful vet and we are grateful to have him take care of our cats! My kitten went in this week for his surgery. We paid much less than I had anticipated, the staff was kind and friendly through the entire process and my kitten is happy and healthy. I cant say enough about this clinic; I highly recommend Lake Country Veterinary Care!
