As my companies healthcare administrator it is my job to know what the insurance company covers and the standards of dental care. When I arrived for my visit with River Point I thought with all the technology I noticed they would be a good practice for my family but that was not the case at all. I was only going in for a simple cleaning and I also made an appoinment for my son, I wanted him to have a cleaning and have his teeth look at because he has started grinding at night. They had nothing to say about the condition of my sons teeth at the end of his exam even though his front tooth is cracked, they wouldnt even let me in the exam room with my son when they called him back. I expressed that I would like to stay with him but they were worried I would put them behind schedule if I didnt get my x-rays done while my son was in his exam. It was just acrossed the hall and I could hear him in the exam room so I went ahead and got the x-rays out of the way. When it came time to examine my teeth I was never made so uncomfortable by a hygenist in my life. Upsell! Upsell! Upsell! She immediately started discussing periodontal disease with me before even looking in my mouth, as soon as she started her exam I knew I was not ever going to go back here. I have always been told I have great dental health, naturally straight white teeth and healthy gums. I have gone to the dentist consistently all of my life with only a few cavities and no other concerns, ever. This was my first visit here and I felt all this office wanted was my money, Ive never had an experience like this before anywhere. It was awful, they talked to me like I was stupid or something when as a healthcare admistrator I am actually well informed and educated. The hygenist wanted me to have a high priced laser treatment done on the spot for periodontal disease "Are you serious?" I know for sure I do not have this problem. This is fraud by the way, recommending treatment for a condition that does not exist. I refused the treatment and had to sign more waiver forms than I did forms to receive treatment. She finished my cleaning after that and made a real mess, letting saliva drip down my neck, gross! I had to wipe my self off before she even noticed. When the dentist came in he wanted me to take out two old cavities and put in two crowns...Why would I do that?, I have no pain, no sensitivity and 6 months earlier my old dentist said all my older cavities looked great, I always have my dentist double checked the condition of my older cavities and never mentioned I would need to replace them, so when this dentist told me he recomended $3500 in crowns on good teeth I about lost it. It took them 2.5 hours to fininsh two preventative exams, most of the time was focused on getting me to agree to more treatment on the same day which I did not. This practice is money hungry, so beware. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I wanted to cry after I left just thinking "How can they get away with that?" I am reporting the fraud to my insuarnce company and the ADA. The only reason I switched is because we moved but I am going to make the longer trip back to my old dentist office!

I had gone to Dr. Ashleigh Harrison at River Point Dental. Now she has transferred to a different location, which is related to the same group at River Point Dental. I had a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Harrison and the staff at River Point Dental. She first appeared nice and the office was new and clean. The staff was VERY inexperienced! The technology was nice and new, but the staff was not adequately trained on the equipment. She had to train a tech how to do my x-ray after taking many x-rays that did not turn out. Dr. Harrison said I needed FOUR cavities filled, even though I regularly went to the dentist and had only had one small cavity filled before in my lifetime. She insisted that we fill the cavities at my initial appointment (rather than scheduling a future date to come back to have them filled.) Dr. Harrison used some sort of clamp to hold my mouth open while filling the cavities, which took a long time. After my appointment, my jaw was very sore for the following week. I thought this would be just temporary. I went back several times because they thought my bite was off. I followed up with Dr. Gail Raether, which I was also not impressed with. She just adjusted my bite and wanted me to come back to River Point Dental to get a root canal immediately. (I believe this practice is very pushy and recommends unnecessary treatment!) Ever since my appointment at River Point Dental, which was one full year ago, I have been experiencing extreme tooth sensitivity and horrible pain in my jaw and face. I now have TMJ disorder, which I never had before my appointment with her. This was due to the trauma I experienced on my temporomandibular joint while she held my mouth open overextended with the clamp. I have gone through so much pain throughout the last year that I wanted to get the word out so nobody else has to go through this! I even opted to have a root canal done (which my new dentist did as a last line treatment since I was in so much pain) due to the extreme tooth sensitivity I was experiencing. Now, the remaining three teeth that she filled are still incredibly sensitive. I am currently pursuing a TMJ specialist and have spent thousands of dollars all due to my dental appointment with her. Avoid Dr. Harrison (currently at Cherry Creek Modern Dentistry), Dr. Gail Raether and the dental groups that hire these horrible dentists!

I had a very painful tooth emergency. I called this office and asked if they accepted my dental discount plan and they said yes and can even see me the same day. "Great!" I thought. Upon arrival I was pretty impressed with the office and their technology. After they took x rays, the dentist told me I needed a root canal and a crown and some other minor things he saw in adjacent teeth. He referred me to their financial counselor and she came in with a quote. For my one tooth that needs the root canal and crown, it will cost me a little over $3000. Omg I nearly died! Where am I going to get that kind of money right away? I left with a prescription for an antibiotic and pain killer in tears thinking my life is over. Ok maybe not my life but my tooths life. I thought, I will never be able to fix this damn tooth anytime soon being a single mom. Fast forward a couple of months and a couple of tooth scares on this one tooth later, it finally caught up to me and the whole left side of my face swelled up. Still scared I wouldnt be able to afford fixing it, I had no choice but to call other dentists because the pain was unbearable. I decided on a Comfort Dental near my house even though I swore not to go to a chain dental again. Well what do you know? They were able to accept my dental discount (for real this time unlike River Point Dental where I was tricked) and perform the same treatment for a total of $900 (what my discount allows) paid in installments. Wow! And I was traumatized because some greedy business scared the crap out of me? All in all, be warned. This place will try to upsell you with extra stuff and charge you an arm and a leg for the same quality service you can get somewhere else.
