I certainly wish that my initial visit was a positive one but, unfortunately, it was very frustrating. I recently lost my upper denture and needed to get it replaced quickly. I am on a budget and do not have dental insurance, so I looked for a place to have a basic plate made. On Aspen Dentals website they listed a basic denture plate for 299.00 plus impression charge. Great! I called the number for appointments and asked quite a few questions to insure that the pricing was legitimate. All sounded good so I made an appointment for the office in New Philadelphia, OH. I arrived for my appointment and was given the free exam and x-rays that were offered for cash paying patients. The dentist then examined my lower teeth and as there were some back teeth missing, she advised that I would need a lower plate, as well. I told her specifically that I had done fine without a lower plate for as long as I had dentures, but she was insistent that they would not provide an upper plate unless I agreed to purchase a lower plate. I promptly told her that we were done then, and walked toward the door. The technician caught me and told me that they would make my upper plate, but they just didnt RECOMMEND it without a lower plate, and then ushered me to the finance person, who asked me the type of denture I was interested in. I told her that I wanted the basic plate. She then handed me an estimate that came to 499.00. Much more than the 299.00 that was adverstised. When I questioned her about it, she stated "oh we dont do that here, that is "out west". I told her that I had specifically pulled up the address/location/practice name on the website and the 299.00 was right there on the page of the services and pricing that their practice offers. "Well, we dont do that here. It is what it is". I flatly told her that that was deceptive advertising and that between a dentist trying to bully me into something I didnt want, and them not honoring their advertised price, that we were done. "You have a GREAT day!" was what was told to me as I was walking out the door. I promptly came home, called Aspen Corporate and they connected me to another practice in Canton, OH. I contacted them and they said that they certainly would honor the 299.00 price and with the impression fee, told me EXACTLY what my final total would be, and they would not try to upsell me something I didnt want. I know that many marketing dollars are being spent on media advertising now trying to bolster Aspens reputation, but the franchise/practice in New Philadelphia, OH is only serving to reinforce why people are reluctant to visit the dentist.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Aspen Dental. I recently moved to the area, so I was looking for a new dentist to go to and stumbled across Aspen Dental on the web. My main purpose for the visit was my bi-yearly teeth cleaning. Below is a description of my visit. As a new customer at Aspen, I had to fill in some new paperwork. I spoke to the receptionist and she was very professional and patient, as I was missing some of the required information. During this time, another customer walked in. He was very rude to the receptionist when he was talking to her and was borderline yelling the entire time he was in the waiting area asking about trying to access some kind of records. The receptionist responded with professionalism and did her best to help him, but he was nonetheless a very rude customer. After filling out the paperwork, I was called in to get check-up x-rays. I finished the x-rays and then spoke to the dentist, who explained to me what was happening in my mouth and answered any questions I had pertaining them. I finished with the dental hygienist, who was very friendly and also cleaned my teeth very well. I felt like I had brand new teeth. I asked her about a new toothbrush I was looking at (oral b 5000). She told me that the dental office received discounted toothbrushes. This was awesome because I was looking at getting one and now I was able to get one heavily discounted with extra accessories. In short, I was very pleased with my visit to Aspen Dental and recommend it. The staff was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Scammers, please please beware!! After moving to Ohio I needed a dentist and Aspen was covered by my insurance. That was the biggest mistake Ive made in awhile. It took me an hour to get in and out for a consultation. 45 minutes was sitting around 10 for x-rays and 4 minutes for the dentist to tell me I had 3 cavities. I have never had a cavity in my 25 years of seeing dentists. I have had many dental difficulties including baby tooth extraction, a root canal and tooth implant from an injury, and maxillofacial surgery so I am not unfamiliar with the dentists chair. At Aspen I wasnt treated as a human nor was I treated with dignity. As I went to leave the manager tried to get me to pay 300$ up front for my upcoming cleaning and fillings getting very pushy when I requested to pay at the time of service. She was very put off when trying to schedule my future appointments because I had work and vacation scheduled, sighing and using a short tone when suggesting dates. The most insulting part was when she offered to pass around my chart to the other women in the office saying "theyre dental nerds theyll love to see all the work youve had done" I have never been so disgusted with an establishment.

If I could leave a 0 review, I would. This place is run like a retail store like all other Aspen Dentals. You are not a patient, you are a customer that they put quotas on the dentists to fulfill. Even if your teeth are fine, they will find something to fill their quotas! Ive only ever had 3 cavities in my life, all in the same tooth. Until I went to Aspen when on hard times, they informed me I needed 6! Not knowing what they were like, I pulled together the money thinking my teeth were in danger and got them filled. Since then Ive had sensitivity, which they dismissed and gave me toothpaste for sensitivity. I went to a real dentist to be informed that I didnt need all those fillings and my teeth were fine. The staff were appalling when I requested my records, which I never did receive. They even shut and locked the door on me because I arrived 2 minutes before closing to collect them, sorry I work and had informed them I would be cutting it close. They sat behind the desk and ignored me at the door. I wouldnt set foot in another Aspen Dental ever again in my life. Appalling practice, staff, and treatment of patients. Clinics arent always the best answer, even when money is tight.

I had my first visit with Aspen today and this is only the second time I have actually felt happy with a dentist office (I have been to LOTS)! The staff is very respectful, courteous, and made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions (I had many) without acting as if I was wasting their time. Gina went above and beyond trying to explain everything and help me. The dentist gave me information that all of my prior dentists have failed to tell me (about the harmful effects of dry mouth to your teeth and gums, which could have prevented the catostrophic state of my mouth now). They are also willing to work with you on the costs by offering different payment plans. All in all a very pleasant experience. I will write another review after getting 7 teeth pulled at once & getting my denture.
