Im not sure how anyone can complain about this hospital. I have been admitted 3 times for various illlnesses and my husband once. We received nothing but the highest care by everyone. Yes the ER staff may seem a bit curt at times, but people must remember they have more than one patient to deal with. The ER on duty must see all those patients, order labs, radiology whatever is needed than make a quick decision as to the best care for that particular patient. It may seem slow at times but when you have people going to the ER instead of their family doctor for a minor problem that holds everyone up. These are usally the people who complain the most. They have to make a decision as to which patient goes first, this is just good medical decision making. People may have to wait if they have critical care case or an ambulance brings someone in. I have been admitted to the 5th and 2nd floor the nurses and CNAs are the best. I had a great doctor when I was in the hospital this time. Second stay in the hospital I had a doctor that was a know it all and I dont think he read my chart. He told me I would have to live with the problem and probably wear a diaper the rest of my life. Both my husband and I looked at him like he was nuts. I didnt have the diagnosis he claimed I had. Also Ive been on chronic pain meds for over ten years. He let me lay in the bed for a week without anything!!!!! Needless to say I went thru horrible with drawals and wanted to leave at 2:00 am, but my wonderful nurse conviced another doctor to give me a shot of something for the pain. One shot was all I got for pain. This doctor was arrogand, pig headed and a know it all. I love the nurses and the staff. Wouldnt go to University if you paid me. They hire people who are just plain nasty and think they know everything. I went in for an intrathecal pain pump overdose and they pulled my husband aside and accused him of beating me. WHAT!!! Bunch of idiots. Go to Aurora South for care they are the best in town.

1 STAR ISNT WHAT I WISH TO PUT I WISH TO PUT 0 STAR FOR THIS SO CLLED HOSPITAL. I recently lost both of my grandparents in this so called hospital they have here not even 60 days apart from each other. First my grandfather was admitted to the 3rd floor in the (ICU) and passed away on February 21st 2016 due to a massive stroke. Yet nothing was done to save him not even a single attempt . My grandmother was taken here due to having a heat attach and passed away this afternoon (03/30/2016) when my grandmother was taken into the back and brought her to her room with freaking burses all over her body as if she was viciously attacked not to mention they punctured her throat so deep I couldnt believe my eyes as there was an extreme amount of blood pouring out of this tube. As it stayed in her mouth to keep sucking out the blood. THEY KILLED MY GRANDMOTHER and my GRANDFATHER. This is the worst hospital you could ever walk into. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT COPMING HERE WHAT SO EVER. OR YOU WILL WISH YOU NEVER DID. I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO SEE JUSTICE. AS TWO SOULS HAS BEEN TAKEN AND I BE DAMED NOTHING HAPPENS TO THE DR. AND THE LITTLE SIMPS FOR NURSES THEY HAVE HERE They couldnt even pass correct information from the dr. to the family not to mention during shift change to the other nurse coming on duty I couldnt believe my eyes. This is how they treat a Vietnam veteran who went through two wars to fight for our country and lived to talk about it. The only thing that mattered to this hospital was clearing out this room for another patient to die in. I though (ICU) does everything possible to help save a life and think off other options to try but not this hospital. I have never witnessed so many unprofessional heartless people in my life who do nothing but snack all night and play games on the computer. If you are hurt Dont ever come to this hospital NO MATTER WHAT. Drive the extra hour if you have to get to the next hospital, it will be worth it. Because you will regret it if you dont.

If I could give no stars...I definitely would. My mom was brought into the ER by the ambulance due to severe chest pains, couldnt feel her left arm, as well as she had a seizure. They had us wait for 1.5 hours then we decided that we would go to a better hospital that takes care of her, the University of Colorado. We always receive excellent care there. As we were leaving, the nurses (whom I had told numerous times that she was having chest pains still) had the nerve to say that they were going to call the cops because she wasnt free to be discharged yet and had an IV in still from the ambulance. They took her IV out and then she started to seize a bit and fell. I was the one who had to catch her because they were not paying attention, as if CARE is not in their vocabulary. As I was getting ready to take her out of the ER, there was a man in the waiting room holding a towel to his head that had blood all over it and crying and saying, "why wont anyone help me?". That is definitely a great question. All the nurses are just standing around gossiping and mocking the patients. We were then taken back into the same room where the nurse stated that she was about to come in to start procedures, so I got her back into the room, we waited again, still no one came in. Very disappointed in the nurses unprofessionalism. They should be required to take a course on offering excellent customer care to all patients no matter the reason for their visit. The room that they had my mom wait in was also disgustingly dirty. I looked down and there were bugs crawling around, no paper towels in the holder (I had to wash my hands), it is was very, very unclean. Needless to say, even if I were dying I would drive the extra miles to go to a hospital where healthcare is a priority rather than sit around and be told that I am just faking it. VERY, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I went to the ER couple nights ago for a friend who was sick with a ovary problem. The staff was nice and it was super fast to check her into a room. After we were placed in the room, my friend was crying and screaming because of the pain. So I got the nurse and asked for a doctor maybe 5 or 6 times. Each time they said the doctor will be in shortly and asked to wait. I waited outside of the room to watch and saw that the doctors were checking on drunk patients who needs breathalyzers over patients with pain. After about an hour of waiting outside in the hallway, a doctor told me to go wait inside and told me that they will be right in. About 20 mins after that I got the nurses to come and give her some pain medicine. After the pain medicine, she fell a sleep and her pain weakend alot. I took few videos of the doctors checking on drunk patients who were not urgent over patients who were in extreme pain. If they would have at least provided with her some pain meds when she first came in, 2 hours to see a doctor would not have been as bad. I feel that this ERs priority is not the patients with pain. Doctors do not care about you at this emergency room, they dont care if your crying or screaming because of pain. Ive heard of people who came in with a appendix problems and their appendix blowing up in this hospital because of the long wait time. I have been to few ERs around the world and it was shocking for me to find out that a hospital in the U.S is in lower quality than hospitals in China. Do not go to this hospital, even a healthy person will come out sick. P.S. I would not call this an Urgent or an Emergency room. This was just another doctors office with long wait time that opens at night.
