I am one of the veterinarians at Selah Vet - this post is more in response to 2 recent, VERY unfair reviews of our hospital and staff. We work incredibly hard to treat EVERY SINGLE patient as if he/she were one of our own. 1. Mr. Stipe - we went above and beyond to help Lee, and you, the best we could - but we do not have endless resources available for help when people are having hard times - we broke numerous in clinic rules by allowing you to bill so much, gave discounts, and even had donations made to help with Lees care. And for what, in the end, when decisions had to be made - you turn on us as if we didnt give a damn and never tried to help at all. We offered numerous options - most of which were continuously turned down. 2. To the people whom we helped reunite with their loved dachshund - Mr. Gonzalez - your beloved pet was given away by a stranger to a client of ours - whom had suspicions she had a home thus brought her to our clinic to be checked for a microchip, scanned, cared for - with the hopes of reuniting her with her family - which is exactly what we did - helped get her home. You repay that good deed of the good samaritan and us by turning on us for not violating the LAW - we have to abide by client confidentiality - that is why we needed YOUR permission once we tracked you down by the microchip to give to the good person whom had your dog and wanted to return her. We truly hope the best for her being home - but feel your review is ENTIRELY unfair - we did NOT give your dog away - we helped get her home to you within 2 hours of finding her microchip!!!

I have a half border-collie half Dalmatian mix so shes the flightiest paranoid stay away from my mom dog a person can own who needed a spay her shots and an extra toe removed from all 4 feet as well as dew claws. The staff here was so amazing with her. They provided a soft muzzle which is better then hard ones some offer that cause rubbing and hair loss. The lady who took her back for her spay was the same one who brought her out making the pre and post-op pleasant as she even remembered my name. The service was fabulous and my dog seemed much more comfortable with the ppl here then anyone else thats had to deal with her. I would recommend this vet to anyone. The spay site on my dog was very clean. It was shaved to the flesh instead of the usually longer hair bs Ive seen on my other animals causing pain and making it difficult to keep clean and replace bandages. The sutures were non-dissolvable and when I took her to have them removed they were fast and efficient. My wait time was less then 10 mins after checking in for both appointments and pick-up after the spay was able to be scheduled so i was able to get in and out fast. This was my first visit and I was referred by a friend. I"ll from here on out be using this vet for all my pet needs for sure. Would recommend to all.

We have been taking pets there for over 30 years. Dr. Beksinski and all of his staff have always been amazing and the care our pets receive is second to none. I recommend them to everyone. As far as the negative reviews. I dont think you are being fair. There are many cases where microchipped pets are no longer wanted by their owners. They did follow through and call you to verify. The dog in the mean time was more comfortable with the loving family who took the time to take her to the vet and try and find the rightful owner. Doesnt sound like a bad decision to me. A few years back we found a Bassett hound running around near where I work. We took him home and put up signs to find his owner. About a week later a man called to claim him. We meet him and the dog went willingly with the man who had another Bassett hound in his truck. About an hour later the rightful owner called. I felt horrible. But as the man left. I heard him say he was on his way to the Selah Vet Hospital. I called out there and told them the situation. They confronted the man when he showed up there and retained the dog. They called me back and I let the owner know. She immediately went to be reunited with him. They went above and beyond to do the right thing. If I could give them ten stars I would.

I have been going to Selah Vet hospital for about 30 years. I drive 30 miles to take my animals there. They have always treated my cats and dogs very well. In Jan 2015, my lab/border collie needed surgery on her torn ccl/acl knee ligament. Dr. Mike did a great job. I would recommend extrascapular surgery performed by Dr. Mike for dogs that have torn their "stifle"knee ligaments. I always recommend Selah vet hospital to every one I know. Re: the lost dog collar....things happen, collars get misplaced. I am sure no one there set out to lose a collar. As of Jan 2015, they have you take your pet collars with you if you leave your animal there. Re: the terrible surgery on your dogs leg, I am sorry you had a bad experience. In the 30 years I have been going there, I have had nothing but positive experiences. They are reasonably priced and seem to really care and love our animals. I would drive 300 miles to have Dr. Mike do surgery on my dogs knee.

My animals have been seen at Selah Vet for about 12 years now. Selah certainly isnt a fancy clinic (my animals have been referred to other specialists for TPLO and oncology services), but the staff are highly knowledgeable, and intensely compassionate. Most recently, weve been faced with an aggressive, terminal cancer diagnosis in our cat, Tony. Dr. Jess Yeary and team have gone above and beyond in helping us make Tony comfortable and find him a well qualified oncologist. Aside from caring for our animals, they truly understand the emotional impact having an ill animal companion has on people-- the compassion they show for patients extends to pet parents as well. Selah Vet has always provided us the most affordable care options possible. Unfortunately, medical care can be quite expensive-- they understand this and aim to work with pet parents to find an acceptable treatment plan that is within reach. Their hearts truly are in the right place.

Only a 5 star option? I would give them 10*! The staff at Selah Veterinary Hospital are nothing short of Amazing! Their veterinarians, technicians, assistants, office personal, all involved have created a stellar team. Our fur babies have been their patients for 16 years. Though shots, allergy testing, the prescribing and monitoring medications, nail trimming, puppy and old dog clamamities, surgeries and seeing them to the grave they have Always received excellent compassionate care. In what I believe to be one of the most mentally and physically exhausting fields of care, these staff members excell! They not only offer the finest of care for our beloved pets, but also to the parents of pets, sharing their knowledge, giving guidance, encouragement and show of compassion. At the end of the day, these people should be very proud of their service. 10 stars**********
