Not helpful. No communication between Dr. and front desk. I explained everything to the receptionist, who was very friendly. As soon as I got to the back, the "Dr." Did not seem familiar with their office procedures at all. Very frustrating if you are in urgent need and cannot get a primary care appointment fast enough due to moving. I was refused a standard anti- depressant (Wellbutrin) and was treated like I was a drug seeker, even though the form says that they prescribe anti-depressants.The first excuse was that the doctor thought I might not be able to make a follow up, even though I said I was not moving for a month. Then the 2nd excuse was that I was not maxed out on my current medication, even though I explained to her it was lowered because I was feeling like a zombie. I dont understand the point of this facility, which I thought was to serve as a bridge until your primary care appointment. She didnt even ask to see my medical records which I had downloaded on my phone. I did not even get an option to attend, let alone hear about any of the therapy they offer. I was just refused service and walked to the front to be given a refund. To make things worse, the "Dr." handed me a sheet when I left, when I got in the car I saw it was a list of inpatient psychiatric hospitals. How degrading. This is an example of people who read about a "crisis" in books and are dumbfounded when it is presented to them in real life. If the medicine I am currently taking was working, I probably wouldnt even have written this review. Do not waste your time. There is no help here. Just incompetence and judgement masked with a God complex.

This psychiatric facility is unique to San Antonio with what it has to offer patients. The receptionists are warm and kind, and practitioners practice in terms of treating the whole person; they arent looking to "fix" everything with medication. If medication is subscribed, it is prescribed specifically to alleviate symptoms however this is not a pill-pushing facility which I very much appreciate. The practitioners are also confident, yet not cocky, which is invaluable to someone who is anxious in temperament or anxious to have to walk into a mental health care setting. Sigma Mental Health Care, in particular Dr. Melissa S. Deuter, has helped me and my family in immeasurable ways. I am beyond appreciative and eternally grateful.

Sigma has been nothing short of a god send to me. The staff at Sigma have not only saved my life but also improved it greatly. The enviroment is welcoming, and no matter who I see I feel at home. That being said, my psychiatrist is Dr. Melissa Deuter; Dr. Deuter is one of caring, kind and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. No matter what I am going through, this place has always been there for me. I will forever be thankful for the people here who know me by name, and truly want the best for me. If youre in need, please visit Sigma. I promise you, you will get the help you need.
