I like this Banfield Pet Hospital (Mt Vernon Plaza) because of the Vets and the staff. I have been to the one near Springfield Mall, Alexandria VA and learned quickly that they would not be a good fit for the care I was seeking. This Banfield staff is friendly and interested in providing the best care tailored to your pet’s needs. E.G….my dog has great teeth (I use an extra sonic tooth brush). When it came to renew his health plan, the vet recommended I exclude the dental treatment since the health of his teeth is superb and the care he receives at home is outstanding. This advice saved me money. This type of recommendation reminds me of the original the advice given by Santa on Miracle on 34th Street. I drive way out of my way to get to the Banfield on Richmond Hwy, but it is worth it! P.S. Dr. Birch is a true professional!

Staff changes here frequently and so do the vets... its always a hassle to book an appointment and theyre not as flexible as they used to be. I understand that time is valuable but Ive been going here roughly five years now! I was 5 minutes late to an appointment and had to rebook?!?! Pathetic. This place has seriously gone downhill.. avoid at all cost.

I wish I can cancel this idiotic insurance. How the hell there is only one doctor per day everyday. I came 5 min late for the appointment and they asked me to reschedule the damn appt. They are never available when emergency comes. There is something wrong with this place

Friendly but feels understaffed. Expensive if you dont pay for the monthly health plan, but what veterinarian isnt expensive these days? They have a FABULOUS attached dog grooming salon, for what its worth - reasonable prices and great work.
