Ive been meaning to write this review for a while now... Metropolitan Headache and Spine Center is undoubtedly one of the best chiropractic offices in the area, if not the country. I can say this having tried out many other chiropractic centers across the DMV area, some with success and others not so much, but Dr. Eftekhar is truly in a league of his own. Having had chronic back/shoulder/rib problems for many years due to a skiing injury as a kid, I had seen chiropractors every three months or so for about ten years. Each visit would provide temporary relief, yet Id develop pain again increasingly over the next days and weeks until I absolutely had to see the chiropractor again. Finally, when I was having shooting pains down my arms on top of the back pain, I decided Id stop at nothing to get it fixed. Enter Metropolitan Headache and Spine Center: after a year of chiropractic therapy, the pains Id felt for years are nearly gone. A major criticism about chiropractic is that you need to constantly go to appointments, otherwise your pain will return. Let me be the first to tell you thats not the case. Making the investment in the expertise of Dr. Eftekhar and Metropolitan Headache and Spine Center is the best thing I could have ever done for my health. Dr. Eftekhar goes above and beyond. He takes the time to help you discover what the long-term cause of your pain is, instead of simply treating the symptoms. Dr. Eftekhar is incredibly kind and genuinely caring, making sure to answer any questions and address any fears or concerns you might have about chiropractic in a completely open and non-judgmental way. If you have any hesitations/preconceptions/things youve always wondered about chiropractic, speak up! I asked a general question about what the deal was with acupuncture and/or massage therapy, and Dr. Eftekhar scheduled extra time for me to come in so he could explain in detail how those options might or might not help me. Now my entire family is visiting Dr. Eftekhar for various reasons, as always, one patience at a time Dr. Eftekhar is providing miracles for each of us. All in all, Dr. Eftekhar is truly the most competent and caring healthcare professionals I know. (And I work in healthcare!) Thank you Dr. Eftekhar, for improving my life and helping me live without any pain. You are the Best! Words cant express how you have improved my life after so many years.

My first appointment with Dr Eftekhar was a complete success, much to my surprise. Previous chiropracters had helped a bit with some injuries and ailments, but no one has ever been so comprehensive as Dr Eftekhar! For a couple of months I returned bi-weekly and he corrected things that I hadnt even realized could be fixed. Arthritic pain that I chalked up to age was reduced then eliminated. He even aligned my toes so the pain in the ball of my feet has almost disappeared completely. He opened my sinusues so the allergy-like symptoms of dripping eyes stopped. Who knew? All that in addition to the long-standing shoulder, hip, knee issues that I originally decided to go for. I had pain standing up and walking any distance was not happening. I no longer feel sharp pain in my hip when I stand up and I can now walk for an hour. I have not had an episode of vertigo either, since some head and neck work. Dr Eftekhar is a family doctor now. My husband, two sons and at least two of the grandkids have been adjusted and relieved of pain. One of the best aspects of a visit w Dr E is his gentleness. There is no cracking or unnatural contortions involved. I dont deny that I call him a torture expert, but, really, thats because I am in terrible shape. He has very kindly eased me into new regimen of stretching that prevents recurring ailments. The dislocated joints from a few bad falls are no longer slipping out of place. As long as I do my part, I need not return often to his office. My new flexibilty allowed me to get out in the heat to work the gardens. Of course that caused new inflamations and pain in muscles and bones I hadnt used in a while, so back I went to his tender care. I cannot say enough good about this doctor. He is very knowledgeable about many facets of muscular skeletal conditions. He specializes in headaches and spinal injuries, but he can do it all! He fixed a rib injury that my husband has had for 55 years (from a baseball!) Did I mention his reasonable rates? All this expertise and he is very moderate in his pricing. Call him. Go. Let him help you get rid of pain. Five stars. Five smiles. All the points to Reza.

Dr. Eftekhar is amazing! I had been going to physical therapy for debilitating neck and back pain for at least five weeks with no improvement. My neurologist then asked if I’d like to try a chiropractor and referred me to Dr. Eftekhar. I was a mess, but within three visits, he had me feeling better and now after 4 weeks I’d say I’m 80-90% better. But Dr. Eftekhar is much more than a chiropractor. He evaluates you and your problems as a connected whole and does not treat just individual symptoms. He takes the time to talk with you to understand your pain and I never feel rushed so he can get to the next patient. In addition to treating my neck and back pain through manipulation, he provides and teaches physical therapy you can do at home. He addresses healthy living and ergonomics. He treats migraines and many other issues that I’ve never had addressed in any another chiropractor’s office. When I first met him, I felt almost immobile with limited range of motion due to muscle tightness and pain from compressed nerves and herniated disks, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands -- I thought I was close to having to have surgery. But after a few weeks of treatment, I have almost full range of motion back, arm numbness is 95% gone and he has even identified additional issues such as hip and feet problems which translate into back pain if not taken care of, and he also helped me with my vertigo. A chiropractor I had seen years ago just looked at an x-ray and went through the same manipulation techniques every visit and that was it. Seriously, Dr. Eftekhar has “magic hands.” He can feel where my pain is, pinpoint the offending joint or muscles and uses different techniques to free the joint and loosen the muscles. He uses cold laser therapy and traction on me to help with nerve pain as well. I look forward to my visits and I can’t recommend him highly enough if you are suffering from pain. He’s a wonder!

Dr. Eftekhar is a life saver! I have worked with him over the past few months to heal a neck strain that was causing intense pain and even numbness in my hand. I also had moderate chest pain. This pain had been bothering me for about two years. Several other doctors prescribed medicine to reduce my symptoms but could not accurately diagnose the problem nor stop the pain from recurring. Dr. Eftekhar is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He identified the cause of my pain during our very first session, which was a huge relief as other doctors were not able to tell me why I had this pain. After seeing Dr. Eftekhar for just two weeks, my neck pain had been relieved by about 90 percent without any medicine at all. I was completely shocked. I could not even remember the last time I had felt such little pain in my neck. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable but he was professional, always available for questions and able to help me understand the problem as well. He worked with me to figure out a flexible but effective treatment plan that would work while I was in school. After only a few visits with him, I no longer needed to take the prescription medicines from other doctors. After about three months of seeing Dr. Eftekhar, my neck pain has completely disappeared. After about two months, he recommended cold laser therapy treatment for my chest pain. Since he administered this treatment, my chest pain decreased by about 95-100 percent. He really made a huge difference in my lifestyle and overall health! Dr. Eftekhar and the rest of the office staff were really a pleasure to work with throughout my treatmeants. I highly recommend Dr. Eftekhar and the Metropolitan Headache and Spine Center. It has been a wonderful experience being a patient in this office!
