Dr Heller and Leso are great, but since the VCA took it over the price is OUTRAGEOUS. Took my two cats in today $710! Did they get a boob job I didnt know about? 1 had bloodwork and not even a full blood workup, two simple X-rays on 1 cat and a shot in each cat. No take home food or medicine, but they did give me fluids for 1 off my cats and we were there approximately 50 minutes. Staff was great too, not an issue and the Doctor was good too, but the PRICING IS WAYYYYY over the top. As soon as the VCA took over the pricing went up, but it has climbed into another universe and while I make good money the charge is over the top.
Sadly, it is time to seriously consider going to another vet as I have many cats. I want to be clear, that I did complain and let them know it was very expensive, but those are the charges and I agreed to pay and I am by all means against making money, but their rates are very pricey now and that is a gross understatement. The good news is the wait is minimal now compared to before and I suppose

After 30+ years of using the same vet, it is time to move on! I was thrilled when Dr. Heller first came to Maple Shade. He was caring, comforting and thorough BUT the location has changed DRASTICALLY. Its a chop shop... in and out, quick and expensive. The people and doctors are constantly changing. Immediately upon entering they present you with a form for their monthly check-up program which is VERY EXPENSIVE and does not cover medications or treatments. They are trying to get you to spend the most they can by playing on your vulnerability of loving your pet. The check up my dog received was barely anything but listening to her heart and giving the shots I paid for. I know she has small tumors (hopefully fatty ones) but the Vet I saw did not even feel around her. She has had bladder issues in the past and they have felt for crystalization before... not this time. It was in and out. I want a family vet, an caring doctor who not only gives great treatment but who can help me when I have to make difficult decisions. This is no longer the place!

Im not usually someone who writes reviews good or bad but I felt like I should in this case. We took our dog to VCA this past Friday for a split nail. My wife and I thought maybe they would trim and treat the damaged nail. Almost immediately the dr. was talking toe tumor! They did nothing on Friday except give us antibiotics. They wanted us back so they could put her under to trim the nail and take X-rays. Depending on X-ray results they said they might have to amputate the toe for a biopsy. We were just blown away!! Fridays visit was $110 and who knows what all the other stuff would of cost. We got a 2nd opinion. The new dr trimmed the nail (without anastesia) and all the rest of her nails while he was at it. $60!!!! We have felt like weve been getting ripped off for a while now but actually had no idea how bad. The dr. went right to the worst case scenario, the most expensive scenario and scared the hell out of my wife and I. Shame on you guys for playing with our emotions. It was a split nail that was sensitive. That was all!!

On September 7, 2016, I took my 8 year old cat, Bogey, to Maple Shade Vet because she was suffering from a weepy left eye and really bad breath. The vet performed a fluorescein stain and determined the eyes problem was not within the eye itself. He gave me a topical antibiotic which I was to apply 3 times/day for 1week. I did this. After 2 1/2 weeks of no improvement, I took her to another vet. Final diagnosis: oral squamous cell carcinoma. Prognosis: several weeks. She had to have 5 teeth immediately extracted. The MS vet never looked inside her mouth. When I asked him to examine her mouth, he did so perfunctorily. He pointed to the first bad tooth and said she need a cleaning. What a gross misdiagnosis. I will never go back there.

I love this animal hospital!! We see Dr. Celano, and she is great with our dog!! Our dog has severe anxiety, and the whole office is excellent about it. Jess and Ashton are two amazing vet techs that we see, and they do a tremedous job to make our dog feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Celano is excellent with getting back to us and always answers all of our questions and concerns. They love our pup, and our pup loves them!! Also, if you are looking for a trainer, Sue, their dog trainer, is incredible. Sue has tremendously helped our dog with her anxiety, and our dog absolutley adores her. She goes above and beyond to care and work with our pup, as does Dr. Celano and everyone else at VCA.

High probability of commission based vets. If they were smart enough to be practicing physicians and you had a headache the betting line is you would have brain surgery first before taking 2 Tylenols. The perfect storm. Commission vets + customers that cant talk(dog) + an unknowing customer who cant ask questions = A huge unnecessary vet bill. You take an oath. Pry on peoples fears and emotions. Should be ashamed of yourself. Office administrator is rude.

I absolutly love this animal hospital! Dr. Celano is great as are the two vet techs Jess and Ashton. My dog has severe anxiety and they alway make her feel safe and comfortable. They are always willing to answer any question at any time day or night. I would also highly recommend their resident dog trainer Sue. She has made incredible strides with my dog. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their animal and wants the best for them!

I have used this veterinary office since 1990, I have taken all of my pets here. Today I took my dog in because she was feeling sick, wouldnt eat, wouldnt get up... I went during business hours. The parking lot had one car in it, no one in the waiting room. They turned my little sick dog away. WHY? They only take appointments now. Im sorry if I cant schedule my dogs next illness for them. So any empty office was more important to them, wow!
