For the last 14 years my husband and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Esteban Baeza. First when he was working at Flowers Mill Veterinary Clinic, and now at Street Road Animal Hospital where he is the owner. We have taken to Dr. B, multiple dogs, cats, snakes, and rabbits over the years. He has seen our lab/shepherd mix brothers, Grunt and Snort, grow from puppies to adult hood. Unfortunately both of our dogs, at separate intervals, ended up with ACL problems, which therefore necessitated in surgery for both dogs. When they came home and I saw the number of staples down their legs, I never thought they would bounce back. Both did and without any problems what so ever. When we lost Grunt suddenly last year, Dr. B and staff treated us, and my deceased dog, like royalty! Dr. B and staff have become part of our family over the years. I absolutely would not trust any other vet!!!! We now have a 6 month old German Shepherd pup who Dr. B just neutered. The next day you would never know the dog had surgery. I had to practically sit on the little guy to keep him quiet for a few days so he could heal. It is unfortunate to see unfavorable comments about Street Road Animal Hospital. Frankly I would NEVER take any of my animals, large, small, cat, dog, snake, bird, rabbit or otherwise to any other vet. I am grateful to Dr. B for everything he has done for us over the years. We love you Doc, thank you for being part of our lives. I don’t know what we would do without you!!!!

I have known Dr B for a long time and very pleased with him and his staff . On March 16th I took my 9 year old pitt in for an exam his hind legs gave out Dr B was the only person I thought of seeing Bubba. They took him in and took 2 xrays and determined that he had bad disc in his spine. After the xrays his assistant said ok go to the front and see office staff i belive we talked for a few minutes and 2 xrays later $369.00 . I went there because I wanted the Best for my boy I wanted to share with Dr B my feelings about the amount of the charges and when i went back to the xray room i had said Dr B why so much He was too busy TEXTING and ignored me even his staff member tapped him and said Doc and he shrugged her off like the text was more important and I was ignored until he carried my baby to my jeep. Well I will say this I have referred many people to him over 15 years and i left for a second opinion and was given better treatment for my boy and did certain things to check the him out i was there over an hour explaining different ways to work with him through therapy. And cost was under 75.00. I normally dont complain about things but the history we have i expected more for less or at least respect. Just disappointed. Needless to say customer service is key and bedside manners. Texting over road customer service. I will NEVER STEP BACK IN THERE NOR REFERR ANYONE

HORRIBLE experience at this Vet. I cannot Stress enough, PLEASE do not go here. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL. I called about removing mats that formed in my cats fur after he was sprayed by a skunk and we bathed him a few times. First of all this vet lists grooming on their website. So I called and was told to come in for an estimate. So I come in, wait about 35 minutes, the doctor comes in looks at him and tells me he needs anesthesia and complete shaving, estimate for this was $370. I tell them that sedating an animal to remove some mats is outrageous. As Im leaving I am told I have to pay $42 for an office visit. FOR WHAT????? I was told to come in for an estimate, I was never told I would be charged for a full office visit and NO treatment of any kind. These people are manipulate and are just trying to get money off you. They were completely rude and unreasonable. I took my cat back to my primary vet and the mats were removed with no shaving and no anesthesia for $30 total. My vet office was APPALLED at what they had done. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. There are 3 other vets in the area, NOT WORTH IT.

We have two brother cats who shared the same symptoms of diarhea. My girlfriend brought one cat in to see the vet here. First, they tested the wrong stool sample and they told her that our cat has parasites (he doesnt). The actual vet spent very little time with the animal for diagnosis while the vet tech did most of the work. They prescribed 2 drugs for the cat and sent her on her way. The cat came directly home, ingested medicine and started becoming scared, open eyed, hallucinating and shaking. Its been 36 hours and the cat still hasnt been able to eat, drink, or stop shaking. The haponal tablets given are designed for intestinal calming (google) but the side effects were way worse than the original symptoms. We took the brother to another vet for the same symptoms the next day where we received another prescription of something similar to a probiotic. It worked much better. I have asked Street Road Animal Hopsital for our money back since the visit caused much more harm than good and he refused. He also threatened me with legal action if I posted this review.

Its not a matter of the outrageous rates they charged to treat my baby, but about the hurrendous treatment he recieved. He went in for vomitting and walked out with a contused eye f you must go do not leave your pet out of your site. Dr Baez had the balls to say it was the dogs fault!!!! Are you kidding me? No apologies, no offer of future care to check on his eye after i just spent 426.50 on a office vist, two xrays and a blood test oh and a 46.00 bottle of medicine !My poor boy was so stressed and so freaked out by the time we left. He told me only thing i could do was put a cold compress on it.Sure cause every time I put my hand out my poor boy flinches and like hes gonna let me touch his eye that is swollen 3-4 times the original size. NO Compassion JUST A POOR BABY WHO WALKED OUT WORSE THEN WHEN HE WALKED IN THE DAMNED DOORS. ps he only has one star because you cant give zeroes

I was a little concerned after reading the reviews here. In fact, after what I read, I even called a different vet. The other vets price was more than I wanted to spend, so I kept my appointment at Street Rd. On July 14, 2010, I found that the hospital was clean, the staff was friendly, the service was very prompt (there were only two pet owners there - one other besides myself), and I enjoyed watching Animal Planet while I waited. I was there for a routine procedure for my bird. The price was exactly what was quoted on the phone. I was thinking of taking my dog here as well, but spoke to the receptionist there and discovered that they primarily treat small animals. Even though they welcome dogs and cats as well, Id rather keep my dog at a vet that is more experienced treating dogs. I hope that is helpful!
