About the individuals who had less than perfect experiences- I can only say: There are people in this world that will just never be happy. I have never been happier with a veterinarian. Dr. Wayne is wonderful with both my dog and cat, and I always appreciate his honesty with me. He definitely has the animals best interest in mind, and is very knowledgeable. At my previous vet, I was told to go on a hypoallergenic, holistic diet for 3-6 months for my dog, since her food was not agreeing with her at all, and the vet couldnt understand why. This would have cost me $35 for every 7 lbs of dog food, and Id have to make sure to check back with the vet every month after slowly introducing one new item of food/treats each time to rule out any allergies. I quickly switched to Dr. Wayne as per recommendation, and after a very thorough first office visit, Dr. Wayne told me to buy regular IAMS dog food- nothing crazy- just the "regular green bag of IAMS". I was skeptical since it seemed too easy, but that night I bought her the food he recommended and within a few days, my dog was eating with appetite and was a much happier dog (belly-wise and personality). I have gone to other many other vet offices, and this is the first where I feel like I am walking into someones home, not just a place of business. Everyone is super friendly and caring. They also offer boarding for your pet- if the opportunity ever presents itself, I would not have second thoughts about leaving my dog with Dr. Wayne and his staff. Lastly, the hours are great (most days they are there until 8 pm, and will accommodate!) In regards to the individual who said he is unpersonable and wont talk to you on the phone, clearly didnt meet him. Hes VERY personable, never rushes you, and asks if you have any questions before you leave. Perhaps he doesnt have time to join a phone conversation with you since he is busy with surgery days twice a day, and is otherwise scheduled solid with unrushed patient appointments with paying patients???

Countryside is a single doctor practice and its a very different (and far superior IMHO) experience. I found Doctor Wayne and Countryside when I caught the mega-practice that we used, lying about medications that they prescribed and partially paralyzing my cat. Doctor Wayne was a consummate pro and did everything possible to help rehabilitate my cat. He obviously cares deeply about every animal and owner that comes in to the practice and treats them all as respected individuals and not as a bag of symptoms to resolve via google. Unfortunately, the damage that the other practice had done was irreversible, but Dr. Wayne fought the good fight with us and never once pointed fingers (even the drug company threw the mega-vet under the bus, but Dr. Wayne always takes the high ground.) Weve been with Countryside ever since. Yes, visits take a lot longer than the "drive-through vet". No, he wont issue prescriptions to animals that he hasnt examined himself. Yes, his team does a lot of hands-on work because hes only one man and he spends a LOT of time on diagnosis, research and surgery. Hes not going to personally cut fluffys claws rather than stitch up the dog that just got hit by a car. Get over it. However, if you go in for a visit, hes incredibly thorough and doesnt miss any nuance of behavior or history. He welcomes and encourages the owners to observe and note *anything* different and hes incredibly skilled at putting the pieces of the puzzle together. If you just want a vet that spends 10 minutes every year renewing vaccinations and otherwise doesnt know you exist, this is the wrong office to visit. If you want a vet thats going to take a personal interest in your pet and become a partner in keeping them fit and healthy, I sincerely doubt that you could find a better choice than Dr. Wayne and his team.

My regular vet (Dr. Reynolds-Ringoes) is on vacation. Ran out of prescription diet dry food for the dog. Called Purina for assistance. They provided Countryside Vet as Purina product seller. Called Countryside, explained the unusual situation, and asked to purchase Purina NF (Kidney function diet) 20# dry food. "Oh NO!! Your animal must be evaluated by the Countryside vet, for prescription diet food to be sold"...... I say.... "I have paperwork from Dr. Reynolds office visits for last 2 years that I can bring regarding his condition..Ill even bring the empty NF bag! to show U.... Oh NO!! Pay for office visit and then we sell U food". No acknowledgement of Dr Reynolds or his reputation. They would rather your pet get ill, then do the right thing and help U out. These people cant see the forest through the trees!! How can I now recommend Countryside to anyone? Very bad form!!

Dr Wayne and his staff has kept my cats healthy for years! We had 2 that have passed on that were 18 and 20 years old. We tried a vet literally 2 minutes from our house when we got our 8 week old kitten, and we were shocked at the conditions at that place. We immedately took the 40 minute drive to Dr Wayne, and after 8 years, Countryside Vet is the only place we will bring him. For the poster that said they were dissapointed - NO vet will give prescription food to you without checking them first! TRY IT anywhere else! You said your vet was on VACATION?!? Wow, that sounds like a great place! I love how people push off their irresponsibility onto others! YOU were the one that ran out of food and YOU bash an excellent vet for your mistake? YOU are the joke!

I have a 13 yr old husky with eye problems for years. Shes been to no less that 4 vets over her life. Others just gave us drops that would clear the problem but then it would reappear weeks later. We thought it was something we had to deal with. We were even told to see a dog optometrist. After seeing my dog for 15 minutes and asking a few questions, Dr Wayne diagnosed a zinc defeciancy. After further research, this is a very common problem in northern breeds. It also explains her joint pain, eating dirt and grass. WOW. Dr Wayne did what no other vet weve seen could do. He diagnosed the cause of the problem instead of chasing our money. Thank you so much Dr. Wayne and staff for making my Mistys feel better!!

This vet is awful. Does not know what he is doing! I would search for another vet is I were you! He has done wrong for 2 cats that I am aware of and probably more. Plus he is very unpersonable. Will not talk on the phone, just likes to take your money. He leaves incompetant people working for him to answer your questions but they know nothing. Good luck to anyone who uses this vet! I am going to report him to the license board for sure!

If youre looking for a vet who cares more about your animals and you, as an animal caregiver, then you should visit Dr. Wayne. He doesnt push unnecessary medical tests, treatments, or products. He listens to you and talks to you like a friend who has known you for years, even on your first visit. His staff is pleasant and patient. I couldnt recommend a better doctor for your pets.
