This past Monday I brought my 13 week old puppy for an emergency visit due to an allergic reaction she had from a vaccination she was given earlier in the evening. My regular vets office referred me to regional as they were now closed and regional offers 24/7 services. I called regional and was advised to bring her in as soon as I was ready. As my poor puppy lay their whimpering and shaking in pain not understanding why she was in such pain, I rushed right over. The woman working at the from desk was extremely friendly and helpful. A vet tech came out and checked Roxys pulse and temperature, I thought great this is moving fast shell have pain meds in no time. I filled out the paperwork and paid the $135.00 emergency fee only to have to wait a good half an hour with my still trembling in pain puppy before being taken to a room. Once we were brought back she was weighed and we were given a room where we again waited. I am not sure why things were taking so long as everyone seemed to have had plenty of time to stop in our room and see the adorable puppy and fuss over her. Meanwhile she is still laying there in pain. The vet finally comes in and looks her over. She was very nice and pretty much reiterated what I knew. The vet leaves and now we are left once again waiting. Finally a vet tech comes back in the room to discuss the medication options. I decided to go with the pain medication the steroid and the anti inflammatory (all shots administered at the office) along with take home pain medication as I did not want to take any chances of getting home and having my girl in pain. Once I pay for the medications ($106.00) the vet tech leaves and finally returns with the shots for my poor baby whom is still laying on the table in pain. Roxy finally gets the shots to start feeling better and we are given our take home prescriptions and leave absolutely exhausted. The next day I gave Roxy pain medication as directed. Although she had been given pain medication she still seemed to be in pain and I couldnt figure out why. When I checked the amount of pre measured medication in the syringes I still had, they were mostly air! Each syringe was supposed to have .2 ml of medication, they barely had .1ml and were not even pulled back to .2 ml!!! When I called the vets office I was told there was nothing that could be done as they do not know how the medications were handled after I left the office. So I received an apology and indirectly told that the mismeasured medication was my fault bc I must have mishandled them because they checked with the techs working that night and they said it was measures properly. I was also told they had on record they left a message Tuesday morning checking on Roxy, there is no such message on my phone. It seems to me there is a bit of covering up going on here. This office seems to be 100% worried about money and not so worried about the animals they are treating. I am extremely thankful my baby is ok but I am extremely upset about the way this matter was handled.

Took my dog there for an emergency. He skinned himself alive. I called my vet who recommended 2 other places. Specifically was told by them NOT to go to Regional. I needed the closest place so I went. When we arrived it was a 250.00 emergency fee and I was told to sign this form and initial here there and sign here. It was expedite things faster. My dog was taken back to be assessed. Soon the doctor came out to tell me what was going on. She gave me a high and low estimate to help my dog. High end was aprox. 2,700. When I said it was really high I was told the things could be taken off the estimate. WHY DID SHE INCLUDE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE IF THEY COULD BE REMOVED?? The new high estimate was 2,300. I was told that the price included everything. We left our dog and a few hours later got a phone call saying our dog was ready but the bill was 25% more due to extra anesthetic and extra meds. How can this be?? EXTRA??????? HE WAS ALREADY OUT!! When we arrived and was explained about the price increase and explained how I felt taken advantage of I was shown blown up on the computer where I signed AND in fine print how they could charge up to 25% more for a service. I explained that not one person told me of this. He "discounted"my dogs service and my cost was back to 2,300. HOW CAN THINGS BE "DISCOUNTED" and "REDUCED" 2 days later my dog had to go back. His bandage was leaking. The next doctor told me my dog needed another surgery. He needed a drain and the cost would be 450.00. Another surgery and another 450.00. TO PUT A DRAIN IN??? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN AT NO CHARGE. IT WAS 2 DAYS LATER!! After I picked him up the NEXT DAY we returned because he looked bad. A third doctor told me I needs to consult with a board certified surgeon. She wanted to open him yet again and cut away dead skin . She also wanted to give us another estimate. We left. My dog had a 3rd revision surgery at Grey Fox and I was charged 48.00 for a visit. He is being cared for by an honest caring vet. This place Is a joke and rapes innocent people with a smile. YOU ARE AN OVERPRICED BUILDING With an inadequate staff. ITS LIKE A WHEEL AND DEAL kind of place. If I wanted to get hustled Id have gone to Atlantic City!!!!!! DONT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE IN NY CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE-I ALSO WANT TO MENTION WHEN I WENT TO THE NEW VET I WAS TOLD 3 OTHER ANIMALS WERE THERE FROM REGIONAL WHO WERE CARED FOR IMPROPERLY!!!!!!!!!!

On April 26th I took my dog to the B.H.P. hospital with a urinary infection. My dog had a laundry list of problems, over the past 2 years she has suffered with being deaf, blind, arthritis, diabetes and old dog disease twice in that time. So I decided to use the emergency service this Sunday because I didnt want my dog to suffer another day before she could see her regular vet. When I entered the hospital I was told she would she a Vet shortly, before seeing the Vet payment was demanded before services rendered. I asked would it be easier to pay for it all at once? The response was visit payment now medication payment can be made when you leave. I found this rather unprofessional but what was I to do. So I paid my visit fee. I saw a Vet that I was very pleased with and very professional. Then I leave and pay a second time for the medications. My poor Girl had to be put down on June 13th by my regular Vet. Less then 2 weeks later I take my other dog to the Vet to find out she may have mammary cancer. Needless to say I was sick.I asked what can we do,we have done blood work,x-rays that offered no definite answers. Ultra sound was the next step, then the more I thought about it, I thought I would like to get a second opinion. So I call B.H.P. animal hospital for a appointment and asked to see the same doctor. I explained we were not changing Vets just wanted a second opinion. I was told because my dog was under another Vets care they couldnt make an appointment for her, because they have an agreement with the other Vets in the area not to take their customers. But if we wanted to have her admitted as a emergency case and pay the extra emergency fee they would see her. My 1st impression was correct, to them its money first, just like my 1st visit. I didnt know I was a customer I thought I was the owner of one of the patients. I cant say the Vets are bad,but their office practices are less then desirable. They take an oath that they dont practice in helping animals when they refused to see my dog UNLESS I wanted to pay more,so its all about the money to them. Ill take her to another vet maybe one that cares about patients.(customers)
