I took my dog into CCVH and told the vet that she has been slowing down a lot. Her sister is only 6 months younger but still very active. She told me it was just her getting older and every dog is different. Later, I took her back in for her annual blood work and physical. The vet detected a heart murmur. I immediately asked her if I need to take her to a cardiologist. The doctor said, "Its only a 1-2. You dont need to rush it. You can get her teeth cleaned without a workup this time, but it wouldnt hurt to have a baseline before she has anesthesia next year." (She gets dental cleaning once a year.) A few months later, I found my dog dead. I wanted a necropsy done to see why she died. The vet wrote in her medical notes, "Owner declined cardiac work-up, so I did not have radiographs or echocardiogram results for comparison." Wow. If she would have said yes to the cardiac work-up when I first asked her, my dog could still be alive today. Instead, my dog is dead because the vet made it out to being nothing serious. When I should be simply mourning the loss of my pet, I completely feel betrayed by the one who was supposed to be taking care of her. It is clear that CCVH will write anything in their medical notes to cover their own mistakes at the expense of innocent others. I, unfortunately, have many other examples of why not to bring your pets here. This is just one of them. I had to learn the hard way, but hopefully others will benefit from my loss.

I love this place. My kids (of course I mean my dogs) went to another vet for years until we moved to this side of town. And even then I drove across town the first few trips because they had been going so long, all our family dogs had; I was hesitant to change. I am more that glad I started taking them to Cibolo Canyons Veterinary Hospital. I have never had a problem! They are always so friendly and you can just tell they are dog people. They make it very clear they love their job and they are going to love your pet. And by they I mean Donna (usually our receptionist), Lauren (our Tech Assistant) and of course Dr. McGlothlin, DVM!! They have all been so helpful! I am getting ready to move back to the other side of town, but my kiddos will continue to see Dr. McGlothlin! Shes amazing!!!

Cibolo Canyons Veterinary Hospital is the "gold standard" for dog and cat care. Dr’s McGlothlin and Fehlis are so knowledgeable about their profession and truly have hearts for their patients. Together they have more than 30 years of veterinary experience. Dr. McGlothlin has been our vet for many years and whether we are taking the dog or kitties in for a check-up or treatment, we know they will receive the very best care. When treatment has been required, we have always received the correct diagnosis and medicine and everything is thoroughly explained so we understand what to expect. The technicians and front desk team are amazing at their jobs and keep everything running smoothly. Can’t imagine taking our happy and healthy "pet family" anywhere else.

I took my sick pup to Cibolo Canyons after two days of vomitting and diarrhea. Being new to Texas I really didnt know anyone who has taken their pet so I relied on other online reviews. I am not disappointed. The staff and Doctor are caring individuals who treated my dog, prescribed a plan to get her on the fast track to recovery and took the time to go over the plan in great detail. I will be utilizing their services as they are not just a pet hospital but offer so much more. Im grateful for Cibolo Canyons and the staff for making my canine companion healthy again.

My Lab had just eaten rat poison and promptly called Cibolo Canyons Veterinary Hospital. The first time I was hung up on with no answer the second time I was promptly put on hold without asking if this was an emergency. The Third call was to Family Pet Hospital of Stone Oak. They asked if they can put me on hold if it wasnt an emergency. I told them my dog had just eaten rat poison and did not put me on hold and asked me various questions in preparation for the visit. Ill let you guess where my money went and will continue to go in the future.

They were overall a good vet practice, but pricey. I ended up having concerns, so I got a second opinion from another practice and they confirmed my concern and referred me to a specialist and they put my dog on some meds. Life is better now and now we know the issue. The new vet found the problem in less than 1 min doing a test the other didnt. Sad they didnt catch, test or investigate my concerns. I did love the staff and the vet though.

This vet was amazing! She was kind and understanding to my kitty. She was very thorough in her examination and was considerate of the costs of some exams, informing me how much everything cost and why its okay to not jump right into the higher costing labs. She also explained everything very thoroughly without talking down to me. I highly recommend Dr. McGlothlin!
