Bella Turner
My Name is Bella Turner and Im a Maltese I was taken for my vaccines on June 14th and died from them June 29th. Dr Woods said it would be fine and it wasnt. I am only 9 lbs Maltese and my Parents have search the web for reason why this has happen, they have found that if you give the vaccines leptorspira and to many vaccines at once this can kill smaller dogs and sometimes it can kill big breeds too. They also give small dogs the same dose of vaccines to the smaller dogs too. I want to spread the word so this doesnt happen to other dogs or cats. I was perfectly healthy until I got my vaccines and my Parents are heart broken and once you get these vaccines they give you a 50/50 chance to survive. Please go to my facebook page and look at the video about vaccines for smaller breeds. I want to save other dogs and cats lives. DONT LET THESE VETS OVER VACCINE US BECAUSE OF GREED........If you get vaccinated and this happens please go to the animal emergency place in Grapevine as soon as possible, your dog or cat will have a fever and look at the gums to see if they are pale. The sooner you go the better your chances are.

My husband recently took our extremely sick tiny dachshund to Tara Animal Clinic. We were unsure where this journey would lead us since, our little buddy Worm is 15 plus years old, and has had a few health issues over the last couple of years. Dr. Schoonover did an excellent job of caring for our fur-baby and called us with test result the same day. My husband said the staff from the front office to the back office was courteous, caring and did an excellent job. I returned a follow-up call today and the person I spoke with on the phone was professional, concerned, caring and truly engaged in our conversation about the update on my fur-baby! As of today, our little buddy is doing better, eating, drinking and walking on his own! We are not naive to think that we will have his unconditional love forever, but we are grateful for every day we get with him! Many THANKS to all of the staff at Tara!!!

We are thrilled with Tara. We had moved to the area, and I had not transferred my vet records. Our Finley got out one day, and I called Tara to see if anyone had brought her into Tara. They were so concerned, even though she wasnt even a patient of theirs yet, but they told me to please call them back as soon as we found her, as they would keep their eyes out for her until they heard back. They were wonderful and truly concerned. Finley is now a patient of theirs, and Dr. Schoonover quickly learned so much about her personality and her medical background. I appreciated their great attention to detail. The receptionists were both prompt, warm and caring, and Megan, the vet tech, made the visit completely carefree for me and took care of every aspect of Finleys treatment. Thank you, Tara, for taking Finley in, as if she has been a patient her whole life. :) We already feel at home!

My family started taking our pets to Tara when I was just a little girl. Some 30 (ahem) years later, I make the drive from Trophy Club every year for well checks, as well as for all those necessary moments in between because we love them so much! They went above and beyond when my rescue dog came down with distemper suddenly in 2000 and saved his life. And 14 years later, when his health was failing, Dr. Schoonover did everything she knew to do to get him healthy and when all else failed, gracefully and mercifully walked us through our decision to end his pain. Now we have a reactive dog we adopted from the shelter as a puppy and the staff accommodates his every need to make sure that he doesnt encounter any other animals on our visits. We have 100% confidence in all of the vets on staff as we have seen them all over the years! They are the best!

Rosalita has been going to Tara Animal Hospital since she was rescued from the Urgent list at the Fort Worth Shelter in November 2013. Dr. Schoonover and Dr. Sims were both instrumental in helping her to recover from her initial bout with pneumonia she had when I first brought her home. Rosie is doing great now but it is comforting to know we have such well qualified veterinary care close by. The receptionists are all caring and accommodating, they always squeeze us in. The veterinary technicians have all been wonderful as well, Rosie really loves Megan and Margarita! (except of course when it is nail trimming time.) Rosie is a ~5 year old rescue dog who was not properly socialized when she was young, she can be a challenge but the staff at Tara has always treated us in a kind, knowledgeable and competent manner which I greatly appreciate!

We have been a part of the Tara Animal Hospital family for over 25 years. We would not ever consider taking our fur-babies anywhere else for their health and well-being. All of the vets are not only expert at what they do, they are all incredible people in their own right who truly love animals. When the time has come over the years to say goodbye to our pets, the vets have held our hands, shed tears with us, and helped us cope with the loss. The staff at Tara is equally as great--they are always helpful and willing to spend time with you in order to ensure that you get the answers and care you need. We continue to add to our pet family with two new rescue puppies so, happily, our relationship/friendship with this outstanding veterinary practice will continue for what we hope will be a very long time!

Took my sick Papillon Spencer in and the staff did what I thought was a very thorough examination. I appreciated how concerned they were to get the diagnosis right. They gave Spencer all sorts of shots and IV fluids, blood work and poop analysis. He was feeling better not long after we got home. Hes always been the picture of health, so I didnt really have much of an idea of what these sorts of things cost. So later that day I contacted a friend who currently works in an animal hospital in another city, to get her opinion on what was done, and what it cost. She said it sounded like they took great care of Spencer, and said the cost was a lot less than she would have guessed. So we have a new veterinary home for our pets.

I started using Dr. Read back in 1988, when she was Dr. Roberts and was the lone vet, in a location in a strip center down the road from where Tara Animal Hospital is located today. She was the perfect veterinarian then, as are she and her colleagues today. From clinic staff, to all of the docs, I have never had anything but professional, but warm and empathetic, treatment from all. I moved away for 8 years and was so happy to move back to the same area, so I didn’t have to drive a long way when my fur babies needed treatment. Believe me, I would have driven however far I needed, as it is easier for me to go to a new doctor or dentist, than it is to a new vet. Peace of mind is invaluable.
