I lived at Wernle for 9 months. The environment was much more relaxed, it still had problems and tough times, but that will always happen, no youth facility will ever be perfect. While living at Wernle and with the help of the staff and people I realized I could do anything I put my mind to. I have lived in horrible facilities and this was not one. People think that they have it bad, but it really could be a lot worse. Wernle is much better compared to say Oaklawn. I am upset at a lot of places, but Wernle is not one of them. I am glad I went to Wernle, it changed my life forever. I recommend this to anyone who is struggling and needs help. They dont focus on locking you up, they focus on getting you up again and keeping it that way. I recommend Wernle over any other facility.

This place is a prison. I was checked into this center after revealing my suicidal tendencies to my parents. After only 3 days I could tell that this was not a treatment center. This was a prison. There is no assistance to be found here. Only a place to store people in unlivable conditions. Take your children anywhere else. Find an actual family psychologist, instead of imprisoning your child in a place where they will attempt to extort your health insurance, and mentally destroy your family.

I just got out of Wernle 2 weeks ago 2/13/17 being locked up there for almost a year (11 months). The direct care staff on each unit are great and are really there to help the children. Now on the other hand the higer ups like therapists and case managers are not involved in your treatment as much as the direct care staff or as much as they are suppose to be.

This facility is a joke. Very little done to help the children in need, its dirty, outdated and resembles more of a prison than a treatment center. Employee turnover too great and training program is worthless. Cannot guarantee any set standards. If you love your child, send them elsewhere

Darrell Gordon and his team do a great job of providing opportunities for the growth, development and treatment of troubled children and their families at Wernle. They are a definite asset to the community.

My little brother is currently in Wernle, and they have helped him so much more than anywhere else he has been.
