I am new to the area and purchased the groupon for a massage. Since it is a chiropractic office and I am in need of a new chiropractor (have been under chiropractic care for 8 years). The massage was by Lauren and was ok. I have been receiving massages for years on a monthly basis and have had a number of different experiences. The massage area is separate from the massage office and they use curtains to divide the area into rooms. Not a huge deal but the door is right but the first massage area and when people come in, you feel like they are right next to you. This was not the worse experience but definitely far from the best...I would give it a 3 out of 5. Onto the chiropractor...lets start with the office setup....totally no privacy! You walk in and there are adjustment tables on each side of you. At least the massage place had curtains! Anyway, I go to check in and they ask me if I mind dogs. Uh what? I ask " what do you mean dogs?" And I am told that they have 2 large dogs but they can put them up if it bothers me.. Yes please, put them up I reply. (Arent we taking this pet friendly environment a little far!) So now I am waiting for my appointment, although I am uncomfortable with the set up and everywhere I look to sit and wait is covered in dog hair. Really?! Isnt this a medical office? I didnt leave because I was way overdue for an adjustment, although I really wanted to! I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received from Dr Oumi. He was thorough and took his time. Despite his thoroughness, I will not be back. I was very uncomfortable with being adjusted in front of anyone who was waiting or walked in. I also didnt like the fact that I had to watch out for all the dog hair. It just felt unsanitary. Everyone I encountered was nice and friendly and if you dont mind dogs and have a little exhibitionist in you, you may like it here. As for me, I will be looking for another chiropractor. ,

I went to Jacobs Chiro in April after a back injury left me with limited mobility in my right leg. The traditional docs were trying to fix me up with drugs and simply told me to lose weight or deal with it. A friend suggested I find a chiro, and I chose Dr. Wendys practice because of her smile on her website picture and her Army background (military family here). She is my miracle worker! Within 2 weeks of seeing her 3x a week, I regained mobiity and almost no more pain. Seriously! I was reduced to 2x a week and now I see her weekly, visits which I look forward to. Her assistant/receptionist is an absolute doll! (I dont know who those other reviewers are talking about -- maybe an old one?) Ive never had a massage but I did get the chance to meet the masseuse twice and he seemed like a nice man. I know they perform other holistic services like ear candling, acupuncture, etc...and, in my case, physical therapy. The only caveats: You have to like dogs, because her two dogs are in the office -- but they are uber friendly and totally docile. The other is you cant be shy because there is no waiting room as the next patients who come in will be watching you get worked on and the manipulations happen in the front window which does get a lot of traffic. But you totally wont notice, and the other patients are usually so friendly that you develop a nice rapport with them as you continue to come in. I highly recommend Jacobs Chiropractic to anyone I know who is in the market for a good chiropractor.

I was passing through the area and needed an emergency adjustment. The website said she is an Army Chiropractor and it looked official with the U.S. Army emblem and everything. I tried to call about ten times and could not get an answer and I was in a lot of pain so I thought to take a taxi cab over there. When I looked through the front window I could not believe my eyes. There was an obese woman wearing a T-shirt, shorts and sandals with two huge dogs. I thought this can not possibly be the doctor and besides I have asthma and am allergic to dogs. The whole thing seemed very unprofessional. I am surprised the Health Department and the Army allow this kind of business to operate in a nice place like Arlington, Virginia. I thought it would be safer to leave with my neck pain instead of risking an asthma attack and maybe getting fleas.

I am new to chiropractic services. But my husband has had enough success within a couple visits, getting some back issues fixed, that he made me an appt. After my first appt, I didnt feel anything for a few hours. Then I felt strange while grocery shopping and came home. Some rest and not overly-exerting myself the following day meant I felt right as rain by Monday. I have now had 4 adjustments and a massage, and am deffinatley recommending this practice to anyone who require or prefer a more holistic approach with a deft touch from staff who truly care. But please note! The location is actually on the left-hand side of the road! I think thats the East side. Google maps tells you that the business is located across the street...

I booked an appointment with Dr Jacobs based on the positive reviews posted on Google. However, I think new patients should know that in her new office, Dr. Jacobs does her treatments in an open plan arrangement in which there is no privacy for the person being treated. When another patient came in and was sitting feet from where I would be treated, I decided I was too uncomfortable with this lack of privacy to go ahead with my appointment. I trust it will save time for both Dr Jacobs and potential new patients to understand this arrangement before arriving at her office for the first time. From the other reviews I suspect she is very skillful if you are comfortable being treated in an open-plan environment.

This message is for Heidi Schuttenberg. Im sorry to hear that you were not able to receive care in our office due to you not being comfortable with the plan arrangement. We have our plan arrangement like this because we want our patients to feel as stress free as possible. We like patients to have that "home" feeling when they step in our office, the more relaxed the better we know how stressful it can be working in the city, so we like our patients to be able to walk in get treatment and walk out feeling great. We will make sure to inform new patients from now on of our office plan arrangement so they dont show up uncomfortable. Thank you for your review we appreciate reviews that can improve our office.

Customized focus treatment. Dr. Jacobs takes time with each patient to make sure they are comfortable with the treatment options before them. I witnessed her baby-stepping a person who was new to chiropractic care with great care and skill. Her office is easy to find and a comfortable environment. A big plus is the two dogs she has in her office that love to "comfort" customers (but dont worry, shell lock them up if you arent dog friendly!). She also has massage therapists on staff that are nothing short of gifted (Lawrence is my favorite, though all Ive tried are great).
