This is THE WORST Banfield location I have ever been to. I have had a wellness plan with Banfield for about three years, two of which were in a different state. While on my wellness plan I have never paid for anesthesia or routine medications such as deworming until I visited this location. I was charged $300 for anesthesia for my cat which I was told was a special type due to her age (she is 8) and would help prevent her heart from slowing during her routine dental exam. Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt all anesthesia slow your heart? All of the employees at this location are rude and idiotic as well. Every time I visit, they dont remember me or my pet and have trouble locating our file (again, this is something that has never happened at any other location). The staff rarely seems like they have a clue as to what is going on with any pet or any exam that they intend to perform and when I ask them to explain what they are doing, they are unable to do so. When I arrived today for my routine check up, I had been dealt my final straw with this location. A person whom arrived after me was checked in before me, even though I had been standing at the counter waiting to be helped. After being checked in I was told that I would have to wait another 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time because the doctor was running late. This is absolutely unacceptable! I cancelled my entire afternoon to attend this appointment and being a full time student as well as holding down a full time job, it is not easy to cancel an afternoon and my time is valuable. I had picked my child up early from school in order to make it to my appointment and I was not going to ask my seven-year-old special-needs child to wait another 20 minutes at the vet when we had made an appointment for an exact time. They could have had the courtesy to call me and let me know that the doctor was running late BEFORE I drove across town in afternoon traffic to get there on time. I will NEVER visit this location again and you can be sure that I will recommend everyone I know avoid it as well.

The Doctor was extremely helpful my first visit there. My poor dog has heart worms and has been on antibiotics for a month. She just finished and I had an appointment scheduled. However, it was a bit later in the day and with personal issues that came up I asked if they had more appointments whether it be earlier that day or the next day. Somewhere along the line an utterly rude lady named Carissa cancelled my appointment and said I can only bring my dog in for a walk in, EVEN THOUGH I HAD NEVER CANCELLED MY ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT, I was simply calling for advice and to see my options, something this woman made extremely difficult for me. Desperate to get my dog seen, I said I could try to make it by 12:30-1pm (my original appointment was at 4pm) however, it is an hour drive from my house and I didnt get there til 1:40. The way she spoke to me was absolutely disgusting, saying I would be lucky if the doctor could still see my dog, EVEN THOUGH I HAD NEVER CANCELLED MY ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD TO COME IN AS A WALK IN. This woman clearly does not take her job seriously. The stage of heart worm disease that my dog is at, taking the hour trip alone is a lot for her, so for this woman to be so inconsiderate and rude when my dog has a serious illness is disgusting. The way she spoke to my mother and I is inexcusable and I hope her boss sees this and takes into consideration her work ethic, and evidently how unfit she is for her job of scheduling appointments. To say the least, I would not recommend this Banfield to anyone, and I will be taking my pet somewhere else. I will be taking her to Cape Coral and the only appointment they have is two days from now. If ANYTHING happens to my dog within this time, from the moment that woman decided it was her choice to cancel my appointment, I will be coming after her job and more.

Took our Rottweiler to them on a Sunday morning with vomiting, drooling, and lethargy; they rolled her in the PetSmart cart back to the back and in three seconds returned stating it was $500 to start any testing and wanted to do an X-ray on her abdomen even though there was no swelling anywhere on her body, refused this procedure only approved for blood testing of various tests which was $237; left for twenty minutes they called my home spoke to my wife (I am still en route to home) and tell her she needs a parvo test because she has no White Blood Cells, I call them back and approved the parvo test and within 20-30 minutes called and told it was positive they were going to give her a treatment: IV of fluids, antibiotics, anti-nausea, and anti-diarrhea. and pick her up in three and a half hours; picked her up and she was wheeled out in the same cart and looked EXACTLY as I had left her, was told the above treatment was administered subcutaneously and not IV as told over the phone would be done, anyone who is knows parvo knows that it has to be aggressively treated with consistent fluids and initial treatment has to be through IV method to save them; my dog died six hours after bringing her home, her symptoms during her passing were that of: drooling (heavily), could not move other than her legs (like she was swimming) and her crying out, seizure, then coma, then death. These are signs of POISON or VENOM in her system NOT PARVO, THEY KILLED MY 8 MONTH OLD ROTTIE!!!!!!!!!!! This will be looked into by the appropriate authorities to find out what is going on here!!!! TOTAL COST WAS $577, FOR WHAT MURDER????

I live down the road from this banfield so I sometimes drive there out of convenience. I have to get my dogs anal glands expressed and for those off you who do the same know that they WILL NOT schedule an appointment for this. It has to be done as a walk in. So, Ill walk in and they tell me "oh we only do walk-ins after 2pm" So I come back after 2pm (like they said) and then they tell me they dont have enough staff to take my dogs in (for the two minutes it takes for the expression) its so frustrating to deal with people who are rude from the beginning and tell you a different thing every time you go in there. This has happened to me MULTIPLE times. "We only take walk ins after two" "Sorry we dont take walk ins on the weekends" "We dont have enough staff" "You neeed to make an appointment" "No we dont make appointments for anal glands" (Same for nail trims) Its so frustrating to be given the run around EVERY TIME I go. Save youreself the headache, save yourself the bad vibes, drive to the coconut point banfield. The staff there is PHENOMENAL and the vets are so sweet and have never turned my animals away during any walk in hours (even if theyre busy and you can tell they are short staffed) Now I remember why I choose to drive the extra 20 minutes to coconut point EVERY TIME. The fort Myers banfield is awful. Ive been there off and on for 2 years now and have neve had a positive experience.
