My 12 year old dog was mis-diagnosed, mistreated by the ER veterinarian and in the died as a result of it. What happened was that my Dad and I took my dog in on a Sunday. Upon arriving I discussed the symptoms she was having and mentioned to the doctor that one of my former Dobermans had similar symptoms and my vet thought it was wobblers disease but in the end it wasnt. I told the doctor my dog was knuckling like the other one had and when the that happened she treated her with prednisone. I clarified to the doctor that the day before the visit my dog shook a basketball and probably knocked her back out of whack and that I gave her a tramadoyl for the pain the night before but she wasnt any better. I told him that she did have a history of pulling out her back, but she never showed the knuckling signs that she had that Sunday I took her to WPAH. I did deny Dr. Scott from doing xrays and had those done the next day at my regular vets office. After multiple visits over the next few days to my regular vet and fast deterioration it was determined she probably had an underlying kidney problem. Dogs kidneys can operate at 25% and perhaps that is how they were operating at her age yet she had not shown any prior signs of kidney failure. The problem is that if you add prednisone to a dog with weak kidneys it will kill them.I know she was old, she wasnt going to live forever, but she was a healthy dog and active the day before she pulled out her back. I have talked to 2 vets at my regular vets office and 2 vets at 2 other offices and told them the story. They all asked me why didnt the Dr.at WPAH take a blood test and do a blood panel??? They all confirmed that for a senior dog coming into a clinic with no prior history at that office or medical problems it is imperative to take blood and check levels. This vet did not do that, he just jacked her up on drugs and sent me on my way. This vet killed my dog. I spoke with Dr. Scott about a week after her passing to let him know what happened and ask him why he did not take blood from her. What the doctor told me is that he heard that day that my dog had a history of wobblers treated with prednisone. HE WASNT LISTENING - I WAS TALKING ABOUT A PRIOR DOG!!!!! He never questioned me, he did check all of her vitals and came back and said in his words "shes a healthy dog, she probably has wobblers". Then he went ahead and gave her a lethal dose of the drug. He basically let me dictate the visit and he didnt do his job. Days later she died due to kidney failure as a direct result of being overdosed on pred. The doctor was very apologetic but also stood by his decision and said she must have had something wrong. He told me that sometimes they take blood and find nothing. And sometimes they take blood and clients get mad at how much money it costs. This doctor NEVER asked me about blood tests, never asked me how much I was willing to spend. I would have spend hundreds of dollars for my beloved dog.

I am active duty military and was transferred to the CLE area about a year ago. Being a pet parent I wanted to find a good vet quickly. I read the reviews and saw that this place had some great reviews so I tried them. At first everything seemed okay. The staff is friendly and they appear knowledgeable, however they come across as being a little too concerned with being paid. I have had some urgent situations come up and while I was concerned with my pets wellbeing they seemed focused on payment. This had my spidey sense tingling but not enough to quit them. Everytime I have brought my pets in I have had to wait well past my appointment time. In excess of 20 minutes. I believe they overbook and with their atmosphere of payment being their foremost concern this doesnt surprise me. Once they see your pet its feels like they are rushing to get you out of there. The vet swoops in, quickly examines your pet and rushes out. Then someone comes in the room to collect payment. Maybe they save their time for their long time clients and us newbies get rushed...idk This past December I brought my 8 week old kitten in with a Upper Respitory Infection. Once again it felt like payment was at the forefront of their concerns. They saw the kitten and prescribed him meds. When I got home I realized they gave me some other pets meds. I am not sure how it happens but on the box it clearly said "for dogs only". I checked the invoice I wasnt charged for it but because of their error I could have given my kitten the wrong medication. When I told them about it the response from the vet was "We are human beings we make mistakes". I get that but I wanted a sincere apology not an excuse. I brought the kitten back in for his vaccines which required boosters. I was told that it would not require a vet visit and the tech could handle it. I called and scheduled the boosters. When I showed up they called me back and the vet saw the kitten. She asked if he was eating and drinking normally. He was so the vet said "You have a healthy kitten" and walked out. They charged me an extra $45 on top of the vaccines just because the vet stopped in which I didnt ask for. Which reinforces my belief of money being their primary concern. I will say that they have been able to resolve most of my pets health problems. I am currently trying to resolve an issue with one of my pets. Once they are able to diagnose the issue and treat it issue, I will be going to an different vet.

If I could give less than zero stars, I would. My kitten almost died here due to negligent staff. My cat had eaten toxic medicine. When I called to ask what to do- a secretary who had NO knowledge of anything- told me to watch for vomiting and that was it. 3 days later my kitten wasnt moving. Turns out the meds my cat licked started shutting down his kidneys immediately. Why the secretary didnt just say, "Im not a vet so I dont know, bring him in" is beyond me. It is common knowledge that the meds my cat ingested are THE most toxic to cats. Yes, kicking myself for not just coming right in, but secretaries should NOT be giving emergency pet advice to owners to begin with. So once my cat arrived he was close to dying and they suggested putting him to sleep. I said "no way try to save him!" He had a kitty IV with lots of meds to flush the toxins out of his poor little kidneys. I visited my boy every day, as lethargic as he was. When I saw what I thought was improvement, Dr. Amy I believe- stated to me "dont get your hopes up". She literally said this. Appalling, heartless comments because her tone of voice was irritated. No joke, actually seemed bothered by me coming to see my kitten and looking for a shred of hope. By the 5th day my kitty came around and through a miracle had recovered. Even the other vet said he was surprised. So goes to show you, you cant always give up on these animals! My cat was not the same, but he was now getting healthy. I do thank them for the treatment that saved him, however I am sickened by the horrible advice I was given by a secretary who was not trained or authorized to give me emergency info- and who SHOULD HAVE just said "I dont know"- because like I said- the med my cat got into is THE most toxic thing a cat can eat and should be known by any vet with experience. Front desk people should not give advice to any pet owner, EVER. Of course there was no apology or accountability for a desk person giving me emergency advice. Of course they werent going to admit it happened! I will never forget how horrible and condescending the vet was when I was hopeful about my cat. I felt like a burden to them and it was hard enough to go there everyday crying and holding my lethargic cat. Thank god he recovered, I really hope they have changed some vets there. Needless to say, I have never and will never return, nor would I EVER recommend to anyone.
