I boarded my young Doberman Pinscher here for a couple weeks while I was on vacation. He weighed approximately 70lbs when I dropped him off and when my brother and I got the dog back he weighed 60lbs. At 70 lbs he is a healthy, thick, and strong dog, and at 60lbs his rib cage, vertebrae, and hip bones protrude and he looks emaciated. He was excited to see me, but when he got home he passed out on the couch and barely moved while I made food and when people came to the door, when ordinarily he would be at my side for food and would run to the door and bark. After inquiring about the procedures the clinic took to ensure the health of my dog, the doctor became very defensive, wouldnt answer any of my questions, and diverted the conversation away from the real issue - my dogs health. Having asked multiple different employees how much food they fed him, everyone said a different amount. Upon dropping him off at the clinic, the girl behind the counter told me they would call if any problems arose. His obvious weight loss was a problem, yet I received no phone calls. When addressing this issue, the doctor told me that when she called clients in the past, they would get upset, so she no longer calls the pet owners. The nurses mocked my brother and me for being upset. In general, I would say these people completely lack social skills and customer service, and I would highly advise you to NEVER BRING YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC.

Best vet around, period!!! My mother began to take her Burmese kittens/cats to her when I was around 13 or so. I am 45 today, & shes still taking her cats only to Dr. DeWitt! When I adopted my 1st kitten, I thought it best to take her to the new vet by my house. It was so beautiful there. Next thing I knew, I was told Channing Taylor needed expensive tests. Conclusion - she wouldnt live past 5, if she made it that long, due to a heart problem. Next issue: her vet, after we arrived for our appt., sent an assistant in to anestitize my kitten! He told me that the vet wouldnt even walk into the exam room with my cat unless she was sedated. At that, I drew the line & took her to Dr. Jan DeWitt at Club Hill Animal Clinic. She cared for my problem child, no matter what, until it was her time. Channing lived over 13 years under Dr. DeWitts care. She told me that my baby did not have a heart condition, almost immediately! I was also thankful to learn that my cat suffered from a condition that caused her to suffer when stroked on her back! I cant begin to convey all of wonderful things that Dr. DeWitt has done for our family. She owns the clinic, so she will be the vet you see. The clinic stays open late 1 night per week, to offer the opportunity to walk out with a more or less empty waiting room after difficult appts. Dr. DeWitt really gets to know both you & your pet. Shes precious!

Ive taken multiple cats and dogs to Dr. Dewitt for well over a decade; and, what you read about all her ATTRIBUTES is TRUE. Ive seen her pull off fairly miraculous deeds, at least with my pets. She is the BEST VET in the area, if not the state. As for grooming or boarding, Ive gone elsewhere. I dont know why; guess Ive always thought of the vets office as a place to take animals in need of medical treatment. (I need to change that, since I know of no place more caring.) Also thought Id mention one dog I rescued from an animal shelter; he was extremely thin when I adopted him (10 lbs), but put on weight nicely as soon as he made his home with me. UNTIL I boarded him where I have my dogs and cats groomed; he was there for a couple of weeks and steadily lost weight. The shop owner was a friend and told me that she had even offered him her best food trying to lure him to eat...no luck. Once I got him home, he ate voraciously; hes now a happy, active, healthy 17.6 lbs. Ive mentioned "Dr. Jan" to several people around other north metroplex cities (i.e. Richardson, Plano, etc.); and, many of them not only already knew her, but take their pets to her. Like I said shes THE BEST. Mom and I LOVE OUR VET and her wonderful (but very busy) staff!

Staff has gone downhill. Took my pets to the office for boarding, the women at the counter were so unorganized it took an hour for me to drop them off. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I think they hire high school drop outs and ex cons based on the intelligence and appearance. They let my cat out of the carrier in the waiting room two times while there were multiple dogs in the room. TWO TIMES! The carrier was hanging open partly and my cats body was hanging out! I told them they need to learn how to close a pet carrier, but this is a vet office, shouldnt that be something they can do? Not these geniuses. Then the big hillbilly pet handler came out to the parking lot to confront me about me telling him to learn how to close a carrier and would not leave me alone. My husband called up there and spoke with the manager, and she proceeded to laugh at him after he voiced his concerns for our pets safety. The office is dirty, the attendants are rude, and they do not care about you or your pets. The carriers I brought my pets in where clean inside and out and when I picked them up they were covered in dirt and dust. I hate to think about the filth behind the closed doors.

I have switched from a holistic vet to Dr. Dewitt. This wman has the experience and the knowledge to makw up for any time spent waiting on your appointment. I find that at any vet where Ive really appreciated the expertise & service that waiting on an appointment is just par for the course. I brought in one very sick puppy about 9 months ago. She was 16 and going into kidney failure. That was hard, but the round-the-clock treatment from Dr. Dewitt was wonderful and gave my girl a fighting chance. When it was time for me to finally day good-bye to my sweet girl, we scheduled the appointment for the end of the day and I sat with my girl for an hour after it was over, never once feeling pressured to leave though the office was closed. Shes to-the-point and doesnt sugar coat anything, but she will help as much as possible. Since then Ive moved my other pets to her care. With each pet, she has helped me with an issue that other vets did not immediately notice (but she did) and then found ways to improve their quality of life. Often, she instinctually knew what was wrong before tests proved her correct.

We started going to this clinic a year ago when we moved to the Garland area. I havent had any problems with the vet techs being rude, but they are usually very busy and rushed when at the counter. The vet techs have always been courteous to me, and when I bring my dog or cats in they have always been polite and explain what they are doing in the exam rooms. The exam rooms have always been clean and well maintained when my husband and I have brought our pets in. There have been times when Ive called in with questions about the special diet my cat is on and Ive always been called back by either the Dr. directly or one of the vet techs with answers within a few hours, always before the end of the business day. We have also both been impressed with the Dr.s bedside manner and her willingness to discuss our concerns and explain treatment options. As I mentioned before the clinic is very busy, there is usually some amount of waiting to pick up prescriptions and for a room. Overall I feel the vet techs and doctor are competent and would recommend this vet for anyone in the area.
