Levi the special needs English Bulldog Marcotte
I originally brought my English Bulldog Zoi in a couple years ago for a tail amputation. I was shocked at how reasonably priced it was. I was trusted to take her home for at home care, with Dr. Beckers cell phone number. She healed nicely. She was diagnosed a year later with cushings. I was blessed with another year with her. Shes now at the rainbow bridge. RIP ZOI 10/31/16. Now this week I brought my 2 year old English Bulldog in that has spina bifida, so is completely incontinent. They had no problems with him wearing diapers. . I did noticed when I came they were eating in visible site. There needs to be a break room for that. I understand this is a very busy, low cost vet. But I feel because of that they think they can do and treat you any way they want. Luckily my bill was payed for when I went to pay. I already new who paid. But asked for some kind of receipt, a print out of something, what was done, breakdown, SOMETHING... My dog just had major surgery for a Bully, palete surgery. The young gal at the front, rudely, couldnt understand why I wanted this, thought I wanted all the peoples names that paid (I didnt need that I ALREADY new) she jotted something down with -0- Balance. Im like okayyy. So I go in to tw Dr. Becker Which I honestly love and respect, and know he is very knowledgeable about the breed, that you cant find just anywhere. I actually traveled from out of town to see them. Stayed 3 nights at a hotel because he needed a steroid shot 2 days prior. . When I went in to tw the Dr. After surgery, I then got another written receipt from a gal, idk who, but again rudely handed it to me. I felt extremely rushed out. I tried asking questions it was a rush. After I left I was like dang, what about this, or that like I was a bother. . I also noticed blood on Drs hands. I didnt think about it at first. But after I shook his hand, and left I thought wow I wonder whos blood that was. The office really needs a full thorough cleaning. . I dont care that it has out dated tables, furniture, etc. But needs cleaned up. And the staff need to be a little friendlier. One woman is friendly IF you get to tw her.... she seems to have had a little more time dealing with concerned parents. These are our babys. All and all this is the office I will bring my bully to for anything serious. I do have a local vet that handles normal issues. Although I have these concerns I still give 4 stars because you do not find offices like this often if ever anymore. They are not about money, but about our babys. That I love. I hope someone sees this and makes these couple minor changes. Ive read some of the same issues in reviews above. They are easy fixes. Dr. Becker is on the nationwide registry for English Bulldogs. He is well known. And very knowledgeable about the breed. I do recommend him to others. Thank you for your services. Sincerely a Mom and her Fur Son Levi

I had brought my puppy in to have his vaccinations and though it went without a hitch, but have a few concerns. Here is what I observed. Firstly, Please ask the staff not to eat at the registration desk and in the clinical areas. This is so dangerous(cross transmission of pathogens). I saw open exposed food sitting on counters in the same room they examine specimens, and the staff eating their food. No gloves or hand washing was taking place either. In addition, I saw post operative cats & dogs laying on the floors on towels just shivering and exposed to each other and nobody standing by to watch them. For goodness sake, please ask the guys who remove the post mortem patients to please wear gloves, and realize that it is in poor taste to heap dead bodies on top of each-other in the bed of their trucks while customers are watching. Isnt there a rear access to do this? Simply put, just ask the staff to please be mindful of hygiene across the board, it wont cost the business anything additionally to do this and may save you from a potential law suit or penalty in the future. Finally, your registration staff really needs to go work in a back office and bring some folks to the front who have nicer dispositions. We tried to ask questions and they wouldnt bother to look at us let alone answer our questions. We couldnt tell if they were speaking to us or the other customers, and if we needed additional information, the younger girl with the ring in her nose would just glare and was very cold. We get that its a very busy place, but some simple changes and good habits would make this a much better and safer experience for all involved.

We have been going to IAH for about 30 years. Heres what I have experienced: 1) Its not the nicest facility. They did a refresh a few years ago, but its still pretty dated. But my dogs dont care and neither do I. 2) The front desk staff arent always nice and patient. But they are ALWAYS efficient. 3) The poop outside is not always picked up (customers fault) so you need to safely navigate to the entrance. 4) They are not always detail oriented relating to record keeping. Files on two of my dogs have been lost over the years. They just started new files. 5) The parking lot is not easily accessible, due to small, steep "hills" at the drives. 6) The BEST Vets in the KC area. Doctors Becker and Wingert work there. They have no equals, period. They are Doctor OZ and Doctor McCoy of the Dog/Cat world in this area. 7) They have the BEST prices around. Extremely fair and reasonable. No unexpected charges for unnecessary services or treatments. 8) They are ALWAYS busy! Thats a good thing. Count yourself very fortunate if you get there and there are only a half dozen other patients there. If you plan to go after work or on the weekend...youre nuts. There is a reason everybody and their dog (pun intended) go the IAH. They are the BEST!

My family has been coming to Indep Animal Hospital for over 30 years and Ive never been so disappointed, disrespected and mistreated the way i have been the past *few times Ive brought my animals in! Im truly NOT the character type to rant or give bad reviews but when I write down what doctor i want seeing my animals i expect to get my doctor "Wingert" that Ive had the past 20 some odd years (yes i understand theyre busy) i dont need some other doctor "Crowe" (let alone her UNwanted opinion) telling me that my 7 month old pup is a bad dog, needs "proper" training and tells me that i dont know how to handle my dog (simply because she was barking in the waiting room!) Well my dog has had training and in case ya didnt know, shes STILL a puppy! And while "C" is on her discouraged down-talk, i asked where Dr. Amy went and so she continued to bash Amy as well. Ive noticed that this facility has gone from compassion to pure business, not to mention the snotty (always rude to me) young girl that works at the front desk! Then when I try to express my concern to the other lady at the front, I got ignored and they kept calling patient names to avoid me and my concerns. So I guess Ill be taking my animals elsewhere! How sad!
