Monday evening after work. Cooking Dinner, tending to my 3 year old, and folding laundry..... all while my weekly bread is rising. I let our two dogs outside to go potty, and set my bread dough out to rise in the summer heat. After about 15 minutes I let the dogs back in, and I noticed my pan of bread on the grass... and the dough... gone..... In a panic, I quickly found out that the culprit was our 5 month old puppy, as our 4 year old dog would look very very guilty had he taken food without permission, and he didnt. I start feeling the stomach of our 5 month old and its rock hard and very very distended. We immediately call his vet in federalway and explain that hes eaten raw bread dough and they suggest an emergency vet clinic... in seattle. Much too far with all that traffic on a Monday evening. We went to the Algona Animal Hospital. Walking in without calling ahead 45 minutes before their closing hours. We explained that our puppy needed immediate assistance, and they were so kind in listening to what had happened and taking quick action. They explained that with as much dough he had ingested, it could quickly become a very bad situation. The Yeast can break down into alcohol and basically give him alcohol poisoning and the dough will block the intestines. They stayed late that day to make sure our puppy survived the incident, they treated him and were very careful. I was extremely impressed with their facility (they let us come into the back room where all animals are held, to show us the xray of our babys tummy) Everything was clean- other then the floor where they induced vomiting to save our puppy. After they treated him they told us that if he doesnt start looking better and we notice hes gotten worse even in the middle of the night, to call them right away. I will recommend this vet to anyone who has a fur family member in trouble! Both our dogs are doing very well a week later. I also want to mention- as I would be willing to spend any amount of money to make sure our dogs are okay. They were surprisingly very affordable for taking us as an emergency last minute visit. The most expensive thing was the x-ray, as they usually are. I will definitely be back!

This was my first visit and so I was a little nervous but hes in my town and he was willing to see my kitty on a Sunday. I took my cat there because I was worried about her kidney function and other age related issues. Also, shes very temperamental and doesnt like to he handled. I was impressed by the vet Dr Mangat; he was calm with my skittish kitty and his assistant was really good with her as well. Ive had a lot of other vets for my cat over the years and hes one of the better ones.

This place has been awesome, each time I have needed help. They were available on the phone to reassure me that just a little more time was needed for some prescribed medicine to take effect, rather than making more money off of me by telling me to come back in with my dog. I have taken several of our pets here, and they have always been affordable, available, and compassionate.

Very clean, newer building. Staff is very friendly and willing to help in emergencies, even on Sundays. However, in-house prescriptions are very exspensive. They are about 3x as expensive here than they are at the drug store. Next time I will ask to take the prescription elsewhere. If they say no, then we may have to switch vets.

My dog recently had an emergency and needed to get to the vet right away. They treated my dog so quickly (right when we walked in the door) and took their time. The vet is so kind and honest. Would recommend this vet to anyone! (Great prices too!)
