Ive been bringing my gang to Dr. Engstrom for a while now and have been mostly happy overall. Dr. Ivy is a very good vet and I feel fortunate shes so close by. But this review isnt without complaint, as Ive noted a few things that could be improved here...and quite possibly things the Doc is completely unaware of. Returning phone calls. Oh man, these guys are awful at this. One of my pets recently received a diagnosis for a chronic condition. So a few weeks back, I called after hours on a Friday and left a message inquiring whether the vet would like to see him the following week. No phone call came Saturday, despite them being open a half day and nothing the following week either. Same thing happened again the other day when I left a message. By the middle of the next day, I still hadnt heard back regarding a question. When I called back to check to make another inquiry, there was zero acknowledgement theyd received the message, but they had an answer ready for me. Not very professional. The support staff (receptionist and a couple of techs) seem fairly dispassionate about their jobs, something I dont particularly enjoy seeing in a healthcare environment. Initially thought it was just a matter of an off day...but after coming here for a few years its evidently more of the norm. Cmon, folks. Fake a little enthusiasm! Put yourselves in your clients shoes and try seeing things from their vantage point.. imagine how youd like to be greeted when you go to your doctors office. Those annoyances aside- overall, a nice little clinic in the valley with a casual vibe and good care for your furry friends.

Dr. Ivy Engstrom is an amazing Vet Doc.!!!! I took all my animals to her when I lived in WA State (Lord how I miss being there!) I have lived in Colorado for the last 7 years. Never have I found a vet with the compassion she does. & years later I still call her to verify what the docs do/recomend here. Every time I talk to her she gives me advice on how exactly to take care of the animal in question which is 100 xs what the vets here do/say. She never treats me like I cant, and only she can...(like the vets here) She treats me like an equal and helps me take care of my four legged children, as financially and economically as possible. 15,000,000 thumbs up. Amazing woman! Completely blessed God led me to A Valley Animal Hospital and Dr. Engstrom

I brought my puppy in for a spay at 8:30am. The front desk techs were great, but what really made me mad is that they asked if I would like to be present for the spay and I said yes please call me. I didnt hear back from them by 12, so I decided to give them a call and the lady answers and says were just getting back from lunch well give you a call. I didnt get a call until 2:30 from the vet saying oh Im sorry we forgot to call you. She was not very compassionate at all. It was just like oops sorry forgot to call you. I was very upset this is my first dog and I really wanted to be there for her procedure.

The nicest people you will ever meet we did not any problems with are animals but after a delivery down the road where truck drivers are truck broke down on the road in front of the animal clinic a lady approached are truck and ask if we would like a cup of coffee we said we where waiting for the tow truck driver and could not leave the truck and 15 minutes later the 2 ladys knocked on the truck with 2 cups of coffee a bag of sugar and creamer and the best cookies awsome thank you very much the world would be a much better place if everyone was as nice as you..have a blessed day god,bless you

Dr. Ivy Engstrom and her staff are all delightful. They go the extra mile for you and your pet. Dr. Engstom is excellent at explaining things so you can understand. They are all very caring, gentle and compassionate with your animals. They are excellent at follow-up. They also care about how you are feeling and handling whatever situation is going on with your pet, whether you are there for a good reason or a bad situation.

Dr Ivy is a great vet. She is down to earth and is not out to over charge. I like her sensible no nonsense approach to care. They also offer cold laser thearapy. I had a 13 year old dog and have another 13 year old dog and have had this done for both. Boy does it help arthritis and joint discomfort.
