My account below is in regards only to Dr. Valerie Ferrell, whose office was formerly located within the Walmart Supercenter on Norman Drive, in Valdosta, GA. She has recently joined the staff of South Georgia Eye Partners. I encourage patients to seek to experience of doctors other than Dr. Ferrell. I arrived for an appointment at the office of Dr. Valerie Cecelia Ferrell in Valdosta, GA. The appointment was scheduled for a complete eye exam, including a Spec Rx, Contact lens Rx, and a lens fitting. After Dr. Ferrell completed the exams for me, she stated that she did not have my prescription in stock. Instead, Dr. Ferrell issued an incorrect prescription that she stated would be "close enough" to her findings. Dr. Ferrells measurements were as follows: SPEC RX: OD(-7.50 -1.50 x 005), OS (-8.00 -1.00 x 180) CONTACT LENS RX:(OD -6.50 -1.25 x 180, OS -7.00 -0.75 x180) (Acuvue Oasys Astigmatism 8.6 14.5). After noticeable irritation and discomfort with the incorrect lenses, I contacted a staff member about the issues. The staff member stated that my prescription was still was not in stock, and that she would order trial lenses of my prescription. She did so, and I picked up the contact lens that were of the prescription prescribed by Dr. Ferrell. After still noticing irritation, shifting of the lenses, and issues with "halos" and rings around light sources, I contacted Dr. Ferrells office about scheduling a re-examination of my prescription. I also sought to possibly switch to a more affordable lens of comparable quality. Dr. Ferrells staff informed me that I would need to speak with Dr. Ferrell about adjusting my prescription. On the morning of my appointment, Dr. Ferrell was over 30 minutes late coming into the office. After approximately 45 minutes of waiting, I was informed by Dr. Ferrells staff that she would require a fee to be paid before re-examining my prescription. I informed the staff member that I would call back if I desired an appointment for a "re-fit" with Dr. Ferrell. I contacted the office of another eye doctor, and explained my issues with the prescription provided by Dr. Ferrell. After the doctors examination, he found that Dr. Ferrell had significantly "overcorrected" to the extent that further issues may have resulted over long term wearing of the overcorrected prescription. The new doctors prescribed measurements are as follows: SPEC RX: OD (-7.00 -1.25 x018), OS (-7.25 -1.00 x156) CONTACT LENS RX: OD(-6.50 -1.25 x070) OS (-6.50 -0.75 x160) (Avaira Toric 8.5 14.5) I have had no issues since using the new prescription from the other doctor. I urge all patients to be wary of Dr. Ferrells practices. I filed a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Optometry. This review does not necessarily reflect the quality and practices of other staff at South Georgia Eye Partners.

Love the experience. My Grandmother, Mom and sister also go to South Georgia Eye Partners. Moved down from Marietta, GA. I have been trying to get the right eye glasses for 5 years as I use a computer 8 hours a day. Finally today I have a great pair of glasses, and I can SEE!!! Dr. Farrell is my doctor who is so awesome. She takes the time needed to help you. Once I got my prescription, Hunter helped me pick out a pair of glasses, and he is cares what you look like in the glasses. He knows his stuff. What I really like is he remembers who you are when you come back in. Great experience!!! Teena Davidson

I am so happy to say that Georgia Eye Partners are the best the only issue with South Georgia Eye Partners is that Medicaid will not cover for your glasses but it will cover your exam I have to go back there in a few days anyways to pick up glasses my nice eye doctor told me that I was nearsighted and I needed wear contacts or glasses after that I got to see them next year if I still live in Georgia

Very poor customer service. my glasses came in 2 weeks late and when they came in they were the wrong prescription. When I asked to reorder them in the right prescription they told me they wrote my prescription down wrong in the computer and had to retest my eyes again and that they couldnt give me a prescription to go to another eye doctor.

Dr. Peterman is awesome. He has been my eye doc for several years and I am very satisfied with the care I receive from him and his staff. He recently treated me for a very serious dry eye condition. Today, condition is gone and vision is back! Thank you Dr. Peterman.... Your genuine concern and care is exceptional.
