I had a 7pm appointment and was seen promptly. My exam went well, and my doctor was kind and quick, completing the exam in about 15 minutes (she is the only reason for giving two stars rather than one). I waited another 45 minutes to meet with a glasses tech, remaining patient while others were helped. When I sat down at 8pm with a tech, he immediately made a negative comment about the appearance of the glasses I had chosen, saying, "These? Really? We can find something better!" About halfway through the appointment, he realized that my file was someone elses file, and became verbally aggressive toward the receptionist over the mix-up. He then threw the file down on her desk in front of her, telling her to "just go home." Completely unprofessional and not how someone should treat their coworkers at all, and especially not in front of customers. I was absolutely appalled. The cost of $70 frames (which were supposed to be covered by my insurance) were going to come out to be the same price as a pair of Calvin Klein glasses I bought there 3 years ago, and another $150 just to put new lenses in my old Calvin Klein frames (and 14 days to replace the lenses...after they had originally told me it would only be 7). I did not make a purchase. SVS just lost a 14-year customer, due to a wildly unprofessional staff member and unreasonable prices.

Beginning in February 2016 it seems like SVS Vision eye doctors cannot get their crap together. We are now in the 8th month of the year and they still cannot get my eye prescription corrected. In their computer system it says -3.0 on the charts its positive 4.50 left eye and 4 for the right eye. Everytime I try to address this matter they speak to me like it is my fault. How was it my fault that you keep giving me the wrong prescription? When trying to speak to supervisor as they are being rude on the phone in consider it and much more. I have left a message for the district area manager of this location lets see if he calls me back. What I can say is the reception in the corporate office very snippy. The best part is all of my calls are recorded and have already consulted an attorney in regards of this matter. I do not recommend SVS Vision in any way shape or form very poor customer service and obviously cause more damage than good

"Highly recommending the Shelby SVS location!" Im writing this review on behalf of my husband, since I made the appointment and felt that I had an invested interest for a future appointment for me at SVS. Though the glasses have been ordered and not received yet the service was utmost professional from the receptionist, to Dr. Chad, and Jim the technician whos personal touch of knowledge and expertise gave Paul an ease of choices and decisions made from the frame and lenses to the cost on what best suited Paul and his new pair of glasses. I write this review amidst my research of other optical centers that we could had gone to but choose SVS and in particular the Shelby location. We appreciate the service provided and kindly THANK all who were involved in our great experience!

The SVS vision in Shelby Township is the greatest. When I picked up my new glasses, I noticed that the lab didnt polish the edges on my rimless lenses. They were going to send them back to the lab to have them fixed, which would have taken another week. Under normal circumstances this would not have been an issue. However, I was leaving for a vacation in two days and was hoping to have my new glasses. When the store manager heard my dilemma, she offered to personally take them to lab in the morning and wait for them to be done. Well she did just that and they were ready to for pick up that day. I am blown away by how the manager went above and beyond. I truly appreciate what she did for me. They have a customer for life.

This is the worst experience in getting safety glasses. I went in to order my glasses and waited an hour while the women who was initially helping me left to go help someone else. Rude but kept patient as I needed them for work and the last pair fell apart. Going on 4 WEEKS NO GLASSES....... lab sent but lost on transit is what they said. One hour later they called to ask my global i.d. now its the i.d. that was entered incorrectly!! TERRIBLE!!!! Im forced to use SVS due to work contract but not the one in Shelby. They could care less and it shows!!!

Very deceiving. Went in to schedule an appointment, they let me know theyd cover a free eye exam and up to a $100 in eyewear with my insurance and when I went in for the exam it was a complete different story and my bill was coming to over $300. Employees act very unprofessional and talk about personal problems in front of patients as well.

Nice staff...I went in to get my eye glasses repaired. My warranty had recently expired and I didnt know, but the staff was really nice and still gave me the warranty price for a new pair of glasses!

Receptionist was incredibly rude over the phone. By the end of it told her to cancel my appt. If theyre this rude over the phone I can only imagine how rude they are at the office
