This vet is wonderful and genius but there is one rude guy that is a staff there. He kept insisting I should drop off my pet while the vet is on vacation. How does the pet get treated without a vet? I would not drop off the pet in a dirty area which is barely sterilized. The last time I came in, I saw a giant cockroach crawling around the exam room where I was waiting for the vet to come in. Any cockroach is health hazard for any pets and humans. Dear Vet, please have your staff to clean up the area and keep it clean. I recommend the vet but I would not recommend for you to drop off the pet for a day. The price there is very reasonable and within my budget. I love the vet but I am encouraging the clinic to please please clean up to make it a great or number one vet in San Marcos, Texas. Please have the staff be more professional and treat all of us equal. Thank you...

Every time I go to this vet, I am ignored by the staff. They are completely uncommunicative, make no eye contact and do their best to tell you nothing. The vet is great, the prices are reasonable, but the front desk workers are horrendous and rude when they finally *do* decide to speak. I was not greeted upon my arrival this morning. They were running an hour late this morning and did not bother to tell me. I had to leave my dog and requested that they take my phone number to call me when they were finished, which they said was unnecessary. I went back to get my dog in the afternoon and they still had not looked at him, and the guy at the front was incredibly rude about it. This is a repeat performance for me. I will never go back because of the rude and uncommunicative staff, and thats too bad because the Dr. is great.

I just got home from my first visit here, and I am just so happy with it! I went it, filled out a brief form since it was my dogs first time there, and looked at the treats and food they have for sale in the lobby for a few moments before the receptionist took me to an exam room. Dr. House and a vet tech came in and asked me questions about my dogs health (I went in to get Comfortis flea prevention and to have the infection on his elbows looked at) while giving him a brief exam. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and didnt try to sell me anything my dog didnt need (which is, by itself, wonderful)! I will DEFINITELY be going to Dr. House in the future for all of my veterinary needs!

We just moved to San Marcos and our old dog that has lots of issues needed to go to the vet. I went today and couldnt be happier with my experience. Dr. House was very knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly cared about my old dog. All the staff at the clinic were nice as well. Having an old dog and dealing with his issues I was expecting a big bill like always but was very surprised when I paid at the end. When/if we have more issues Ill definitely be back. I would recommend them to my friends, family, or anyone looking for a vet that cares and is not going to tear your head off at the cash register.

The customer experience from the front end to the back end is warm, compassionate and just down home awesome. The doc proves that she cares about the animals in every way. We take three dogs and a cat to the San Marcos Veterinary clinic for shots and treatment. I drive form the Reedville area even though I might find service elsewhere, no offense folks. Once I rushed an older Cairn terrier to the clinic without an appointment and the dog died in my arms in the front admitting area. The team was able to accomadate an emergency and did a great job assisting me through a difficult time. Thanks.

My husband and I have been going to Dr Julie House for years. She has taken the best possible care of our dogs. I refuse to go anywhere else! We plan to move to New Braunfels and will continue our relationship with San Marcos Veterinary Clinic even though it will require a 30 minute drive to get there. She is extremely thorough without going over the top. She has seen 2 of our dogs from pups through old age and when we had to put the older down she and her staff were wonderful! Wouldnt trade them for the world.

Dr. House is absolutely amazing!! She has been our vet for 15 years now. About 6 years ago we moved to Houston. Whenever one of our fur babies is sick or we need to board them, we ALWAYS make a day trip to San Marcos. No ifs ands or butts. Its worth the drive (and we have made many day trips in the those years). She is so loving, caring, trust worthy, and very intelligent. We consider her and the staff more like family!! Hands down Dr. House holds a very special place in our hearts!

Amy, I certainly agree that Dr. Julie House is an excellent veterinarian. I have found her to be most helpful and really concerned about my pets. However, instead of splashing your complaint about office staff into the reviews why not talk directly to Dr. House yourself about the treatment your received? That would help her take corrective action and allow for a more constructive approach for you, your dog, and others. :)

Doctor Julie and her staff are extremely caring and professional. San Marcos Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Julie have cared for our dogs (Labs) for the past 15+ years and helped my wife and I through all the rough times associated with being a pet owner(if you know what I mean). You could not ask for a better place to care for your pet much less the reasonable pricing. Two very big thumbs up!!

Been going to this place for about 7 years now for my pets needs from annual check up, any problems that my dog or cat have and Im always satisfied everytime I go. Dr Julie is very knowledgeable, friendly staff and reasonable prices compared to other vet places I initially went when I moved in San Marcos area back in 2004 Definitely will go back for my pets needs.

Classless... absolutely terrible. They wouldnt see my dog that was bitten by a rattle snake because she wasnt a "previous" customer and didnt have an appointment. How can someone just turn down a dog that is fighting for its life. Thank goodness for a top notch vet clinic in William-Sebby that took care of my pup and get her healthy.

I brought my pup here to get fixed and to get puppy shots and the main reason I chose this place was the reasonable prices. The surgery went well and my pup hasnt had any issues so far. The staff was professional and the doctor was great. It is a little out of the way, but worth the trip.

My pup was a stray and was hit by a car and picked up by an animal rescue group and treated by Dr. House. That was 10 years ago and I love the whole group there. Great treatment, very thorough explanations of whats going on and they all love the animals. Couldnt ask for more.
