The Schertz Animal Hospital is the closest vet from my house, and some of our friends had taken their dogs there so it was a no-brainer to bring our puppy there as well. The clinic itself is very nice, new, and clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and Ive never had a problem getting an appointment quickly. Nevertheless I am sorry to say that Im looking for a new vet right now. The problem I have with Schertz Animal Hospital is Dr. Rodriguez who has been treating my dog. He does not listen very closely to my concerns and just keeps talking about different procedures. When I ask him a question, sometimes his answer has nothing to do with my question. It feels like he wants things done his way and wont accept my input. Meanwhile I have heard from other people who were not too happy with him and switched vets. BUT: I have heard good things about Dr. Mossburg who works there as well. I cannot say anything about their prices since I just moved here and dont know the average vet prices yet.

My Dog had a botched Cherry Eye performed by Dr. Rodriguez that had to be corrected by a Veterinarian Ophthalmologist. My dog initial surgery’ stitches came undone creating massive scabs and causing ulcers in his eye. Dr. Rodriguez wanted to reopen my dog’s original surgery, removed his lacrimal gland to correct their first failed surgery. I do not have to tell you how frustrated I was and how quickly I lost all confidence in his medical abilities. This facility is a great place to vaccinate your pets and routine exams, but if your pet requires major surgery I recommend taking your pet to a specialist.

We have used Universal City Animal Hospital and the service there has suffered. Just not as personal as it used to be. So we switched here and it was a great experience. They took us in right away and the nurse was very attentive and then Dr. Mossberg was very attentive. They explained the problems thoroughly and gave us tips on dealing with our pet. Very thorough exam. The charge for everything they did was fair. Schertz Animal Hospital was a better experience all around.

This was an excellent vet clinic 16 years before they moved locations and the original vet retired. The two new vets built a "small palace", and their prices shot up immediately. I quit taking my dogs there because I felt like they were charging too much compared to other veterinarians in the area.

I love Schertz Animal Hospital the atmosphere here is awesome, its really clean, the staff & doctors are all so very nice and helpful. This is a great office, and is one of the best animal hospital I have seen. my overall experience with them has been more than excellent. 5 stars all the way!

We walked in as a new patient at 11:45 on Saturday and they close at noon. The waiting room was full, but the staff was super friendly, saw us within 30 minutes. Kept the puppy for a few hours to sedate him so they could fix him, then had him and his meds ready to go by 4pm.

Excellent medical care for our dogs. Top notch Dr. Billing and front office is terrible. Always sneaking in extra charges and tacking on services. Bills were $50-200 more than expected every time. Sorry to leave because of the good vet, but bad business practices.

The staff is super friendly and Dr. Mossberg has been phenomenal with both of my boxers. I had a dog with pneomonia and another who needed a tumor removed and was very pleased with the services at Schertz Animal Clinic. I highly recommend them to any pet owner!

We have been so happy with Dr. R. He very knowledgeable and caring. The facility is amazing and clean. We have been to many vets in the area and this is home. The staff is friendly and well educated. Dont be fooled by lesser hospitals in the area.
