I recently brought my 1 1/2yr old cat to see dr Thomas. He has been struggling with a urinary blockage twice in the past 2 months. We took him to another local animal hospital for the first blockage. The other hospital "seemed" to have my cats best interest at heart ONLY after payment was made. $1700! Now, we didnt have that kind of money sitting around. Needless to say we came up with money and they unblock him. To save cost on the surgery we did only the bare necessitiesas directed by the dr. Still cost $1700 keep in mind. Well, after that surgery our cat was never the same. He would never pee in the litter box again, he still struggled to get a little bit of pee and he did not seem happy. We brought him back to the other place THREE different times in a month period only to be told it was stress each time. Every week we spent close to $250 on the visits and meds. He still never got better. So, after talking to a few different people, Dr. Thomas came highly recommend. We decided to bring him to see her after we could no longer bare to watch him suffer while trying to pee. We called at 4:30pm on a Saturday. (Mind you, they close at 5pm). We explained the situation to Dr. Thomas on the phone and she told us to bring him in. Once we got there, the experience was the complete opposite of the other hospital. It turned out he was blocked again. Dr. Thomass only concern was getting him better, NOT how i was going to pay. She and her husband trying our baby like he was their own. She didnt cut any corners to "save" money. She did what was necessary to get him better. (Half of the price by the way). As it turned out, it wasnt caused by stress. It was crystals still in the bladder that were not fully flushed from the first blockage. Our little boy is doing great and Dr. Thomas and staff not only have a grateful new client, they also have a new fan, friend and extremely happy customer for life! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARDVARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL WITH ALL MY HEART!

We have been customers of Dr Thomas since she first opened her practice in Lionville. Her and her team of skilled vet techs have always treated my pets with respect and urgency. This past year, I had two of my dogs there for long term care (one was suddenly paralyzed after an accident in the yard and the second was diagnosed with kidney disease). I was told from another ER vet that if I didnt have emergency surgery on my paralyzed girl, that she would never walk again. Since I couldnt afford that type of surgery, that ER vet recommended the worse. Feeling disappointed and devestated, I called Dr Thomas. She advised on laser therapy instead. After several treatments, my dog was up and walking. It wasnt pretty - lol - but she was walking. As the year has progressed, she kept improving and now she has regained strength and runs, jumps, walks like shes the queen. I cant thank Dr Thomas enough. My dogs love going to that office - they cant wait to get inside because they know all of the staff loves them (and I have bully breed dogs - large intimidating Italian mastiffs). I personally appreciate the vet techs and office staff - they have always been very respectful of me, my financial situation, and my dogs. The newer vet (Bridget) is wonderful as well. We recently said good bye to my dog diagnosed with Kidney Disease and the office gave us privacy and alot of love. Yes, sometimes there is a wait. But please remember this is an emergency vet office. If a dog is hit by a car and needs to be seen immediately, I can appreciate that. My paralyzed dog was brought in as an emergency and I know she took my dog before others waiting. They do their best to prioritize the situations and take the most in need first. I commend them for that. The office staff is family. Id give 10 stars if I could.....

I only give one star b/c it wont let me post without at least one. I had heard great things about this Animal Hospital so I starting taking my dog there about a year ago just b/c I had heard good things and my vet was not as close. This was a big mistake. My first visit I was there for over an hour just for a simple check up for my dog. I figured people get backed up and they said they had some emergencies when I walked in. So I decided to give them another try...next mistake. I recently had my dog back for an annual checkup and had another long wait for the doctor to spend 5 minutes with him. I recently got another dog in November and took her there when we got her; they never updated their records to alert me when she needed her shots or checkups. Had I not known it was coming up and asked when I was there she would be behind on her shots. My most recent experience 2 days ago I was there with my new dog for the shots she needed that we were never alerted about. We waited for an hour and finally decided to leave and when I expressed my concerns I was meet with the excuse that they had some emergencies come in and got backed up. If this was the case then they should do more to let their appointments know, give them a phone call or let them know when they come in they are going to have to wait due to emergencies. They have a sign posted that they will charge you $25 if you do not show or cancel within 24 hours....what do we as a consumer get if they cant keep their appointment? Nothing!!! I would tell anyone to strongly consider taking their animal there. They say they will treat your animal as if it were their own. I guess they are ok having their animal wait for an hour and not even be seen but I am not.

Dr Thomas has been with us for many years through all the stages of our pets’ lives. From general practice to end of life issues, she has been the guiding force for all of our decision making and we have and would trust no one else with the care of our animals. When it comes to major medical decisions, Dr. Thomas gives advice and backs it up with information from her continuing education or current research which she explains thoroughly. It’s so comforting to know that your pet is in capable hands as she is up on all of the current medications and treatments. We have never had an emergency go unanswered and routine appointments have always been made promptly. In addition to her care, her medical technicians have gone above and beyond, are compassionate, professional, and treat your animals with the utmost respect. From Dr. Thomas to the technicians and office staff, all have been concerned about our peace of mind as well as quality medical care. Her compassion not only towards our furry family members, but also us, as we have traversed end of life issues and have had to make the heartbreaking decisions to say goodbye over the years has been such a gift. She truly treats your animals as your family and as irreplaceable spirits in your life. Dr. Thomas’ undying devotion to animals is not only proven by her practice and care but by her rescue, Aardvark Animal Rescue, and by the charity work she does for animals in need. When you enter the office and see not only great employees, but Dr. Thomas’ husband and children, you know this is an entire family and staff dedicated to the health, well-being and support of your pet. Don’t look any further for your next vet.
