We took our pet to this office for his general wellness check up after adoption. At the time our rat terrier (Miles) had a severe shedding going on and there was one area on his back that actually was bald all the way down to his skin. When asking the doctor about it he guessed that it had been a previous flea allergy and was nothing to worry about - he said it would get better. When it didnt get better and in fact became even worse, I discovered through extensive research on his particular breed that it was actually a food allergy - it was a reaction to the dog food he had been eating that the doctor in fact endorsed as good. Once we changed his food his hair grew back in, lush and shiny as it should. That was the first strike that perhaps this particular vet hadnt graduated even close to the top of his class. The second strike came when we ordered Miles heartworm medication from Pet Meds online, After 2 weeks I followed up to see what the hold up had been on receiving our order. I was told by the Pet Meds people that our vet would not work with them by sending a faxed prescription and would only provide a hand written prescription to be picked up in his office (not a convenient trip for us as we are 30 minutes away in one direction) and then we could turn around and mail it to the Pet Meds company. I followed up with our vets office to verify this as true and was told that this was done "because there is so much fraud on the internet these days". I dont understand how an office couldnt merely look for the file on Miles in their office, verify that in fact yes, we are the owners of this pet and give us a call to verify the facts. It wasnt as if we were ordering hundreds of boxes of pet medicine, clearly NOT an indication of fraud of any kind. Do yourselves and your pet a favor and dont go to this ridiculously operated office with such nonsense. They sell these meds in their office - I suspect that is the reason for the implied concern over fraud - they just want people to purchase meds from their office to make a profit. I would NEVER recommend this office to ANY one!!

We have two dogs and one of them (Duke) has been coming to Brandywine for 5 years. Our younger dog (Duncan) has just started coming to Brandywine. The third week of December we left both our dogs for 7 days while we went on vacation. When we came to pick them up both dogs acted like they were happy to see us. The person at the desk told us the only issue documented on the file, was that the younger dog did allow the male attendant to get near him and they received a complementary bath. Nothing else was said. When we got home our dogs just laid around and slept. Later that evening we noticed blood on Dukes paw and noticed that one of his toe nails was torn off to where you could see the quick. Now I understand that dogs have some anxiety when left alone, however, nothing was communicated to us about Dukes paw. We knew this didnt happen since we picked them up so we brought Duke back the next day. As we explained what we found we were told that it was "here say" and we did not know that it happened while he was being boarded. The doctor on duty that day refused to see him unless we paid and made an appointment. He would not even walk out to talk to us. How RUDE to be treated after all these years. They would not even acknowledge that this possibly could have happened while he was boarded. The biggest issue was that the RUDE doctor would not even come out to see Duke. A patient of 5 years. We took Duke to another doctor immediately after we left Brandywine and she took him in right away and wrapped up his foot and gave him some antibiotics and pain killers. We are so disappointed and dismayed at the way Brandywine Hundred Veterinary Hospital handled this whole situation. It took our dogs at least 3 days to get back to normal. I would never ever recommend this hospital or boarding.

I have been going to Brandywine Hundred Vet since 2006 and I absolutely love the staff! Dr. Hardy is very informative and will listen to whatever questions you have and will answer them to the best of his knowledge. There are no dumb questions with him! My older dog had to be recently put to sleep in June. It was the worst moment of my life but Dr. Hardy along with the rest of the staff were extremely caring and there for me every step of the way. All the vet techs are beyond friendly and I have ever lasting bonds with a few of them as they treat you like family there. They are very helpful to keep my dogs anxiety of going to the vet as low as possible. They are always very pleasant and cheerful. Everyone there knows us by name when we walk in. I did try another vet back in 2007 and had a horrible experience and will never trust anyone other than Dr. Hardy with my dogs. I will drive to the moon if I have to! I also utilize the fact that they have grooming there as well. Kristina is the best at what she does and I wouldnt trust anyone else with any of my dogs.

Weve been taking our boyz to Dr. Hardy since we moved to the area about 12 years ago. He is, hands down, the best diagnostician around! When weve had to go to the Specialty Center for specialized tests or treatments, the doctors there have also raved about his skill. He knows what hes doing and he takes time to not only inform you but also give you parameters. Hes also performed masterful surgery on our greyhound and received rave reviews from the Univ. of Penns Ryan Hospital. Dr. Paul is another great surgeon. She literally stitched together another of our greys after he was ripped apart in a vicious attack. So many stitches, he looked like Frankenweenie. But she saved an ear that most vets probably would not have and, today, hes as healthy and happy as he was before the incident.

Molly and Milo travel 30 minutes from home because we want the best vet care for our fur babies. The staff is super friendly and supportive, no wait time for scheduled appointments, and smart and trustworthy vets. We had 2 or 3 bad diagnosis before finally getting a correct diagnosis for 4 yr old Mollys toe tumor at Silverside. Other vets literally said it was an ingrown toe nail, my gut said something else was going on. We went to Silverside because our childhood pets went there, I was running out of ideas and they were my last hope. Thank god Silverside found the tumor, removed the toe before it could spread, and calmed my fears dealing with this cancer. Molly is happy and healthy and we didnt break the bank in the process! Thanks Silverside for all you do!!

We have been bringing our cats to Brandywine Hundred Veterinary Hospital for the 31 years we have lived in the north Wilmington area. We wouldnt consider going anywhere else. The doctors are competent and caring as are all the other staff members. Additionally, we have boarded our current cat during the past several summers and plan to do so again this summer. The staff has always been so caring and compassionate during the final moments of four of the five cats we have had during our 31 years in Delaware. We have had only the most positive care and experiences and will continue to take our pets to Brandywine Hundred Veterinary Hospital.
