I advised my daughter not to go here but she did because it was the closest place. She had been sick for 2 weeks, was having trouble breathing and coughing so much she throwing up then throwing up so much she couldnt get a breath in. She gets there and the nurse in the ER is rude to her (as I expected). They tried to get an IV on her but couldnt. Then just decided she didnt need one (she is probably dehydrated from all of the vomiting). The drew blood. She complained of pain during and after. The nurse matter of factly told her "I dont see how you could be in any pain we are not doing anything now". Well Miss Nurse, my daughter has fibromyalgia. Even to touch her causes her pain. Instead of guessing how much pain she might or might not have, assess her and find out why she is hurting without assuming. Your lucky she didnt pass out from the procedure itself as this has been the case when she was a child and growing up. Anything to do with needles or blood literally make her pass out and if she didnt she was really trying her best to hold it together for you. Its sad when you go to a place that is set up "in theory" to help you - they are the ones who belittle you, insinuate you are a liar, and treat you like you are the scum beneath their feet. If you didnt get into the medical field to help those who cannot help themselves then why are you still there?

Weve only been here once for my daughters newborn screening. It was a good experience. We have a good insurance and it is covered but they have been holding off on sending a copy of my daughters medical records and I have already filled out the form and also communicated with my Provider but they are still holding the document. Very poor customer service and poor management. They dont even have someone you can talk to. I think its only like a call center probably even overseas but anyhow, they are horrible in terms of communication. I would advise everyone to just go to Waco or anywhere else not here if you dont like to deal with stress. Oh and by the way its already been 8 months since we went there and they are still not sending the records and they still keep on sending me bills but they do not want to do their job to resolve this.

I went there nervous because I had no insurance and usually er treat you like trash not wanting to do anything but the least limited things to get by. I had been sicker than I had ever been. Vomited the whole night, week and barely able to walk. I got there and the wait was short as I was the only pt there that time of morning. The nurses were truly compassion Dr. Khan was wonderful even asking me why I didnt come in sooner. They took good care of me, gave me IV fluids and did an ekg cuz my bp was running real high and blood work. Truly fantastic er department. However when I got the bill my eyes nearly kept from my head. Im wondering when the kidney was inserted and I didnt know. The cost of healthcare is truly insane.

My mothers blood pressure goes up every time she goes there. Horrible customer service. The nurses/reception in mammogram area are rude and brusque to an 80+ woman being rushed through a system. And demanding more money for a test on the spot for a test she didnt know was requested. Why? (She had a lovely older woman walk her through the last time she went. Obviously it was just her nature to be kind.) Also there was confusion as to where the mammograms were done. Harris Hospital - Work on your Employee Communication Skills!! Hoping my mother never has to go there again.

The doctors and staff were wonderful during my short stay for outpatient surgery. However, the billing department does not get my votes. I set up a payment for my bill over the phone. They failed to tell me that my bank card would be per-authorized for the transaction. The per-authorization (for the same amount as my payment) stayed on my bank account for TWO FULL DAYS AFTER Texas Health received their payment. Leaving me with nearly no funds in the bank. I had to cancel my weekend plans. Very upsetting.

They convinced me to stay in their ICU, which turned out to be completely unnecessary. They knew I did not have insurance but convinced me my life was in danger if I didnt stay. I was never told any sort of price on anything. I stayed for one night in ICU, and one night in a general room. Im now in so much crippling debt (5 figures) I kind of wish I did just die. American health "care" I guess.

When my baby was breech and a C-section was needed, I drove over an hour to have my C-section here. They are AMAZING. They respect your decision as a parent, they never take your baby away without consent, and they dont force unnecessary medication on you. All their staff was amazing, including the lactation consultant (very helpful!) and the pediatrician. I cant recommend this place enough!!

Went to the emergency room. Saw Dr. Dale Lucas. I have been getting calls that I owe him because he was the doctor I saw in the emergency room at out of network cost even though the hospital is covered in network. Never have I had a bill from the ER doctor saying I owe him on top of what I paid the hospital because he is out of my network. Huh? Are you kidding me? Boo

Ive been to this hospital about 3 times already with my husband and each time weve had a great experience. We met Jarrett an ER nurse who was very friendly easy going person. My husband had surgery there his nurses at that time were Heather and Danny they were great. Id recommend this hospital to everyone.

I like this hospital and their ER services, but dude... Tell your staff to not chew gum so open-mouthedly, especially after being informed that the person needs to read your lips due to being deaf. Connie the Insurance Gatherer, spit that gum out!!!

Worst Hospital EVER!!! & I have been to the hospitals downtown San Antonio, TX! I asked 3 different nurses for water and im still waiting for that water. And this was December 8 I was there. Good food for a hospital.

Very unprofessional. All staff seem to be limited in training if very little at all. There is no care for patients in obvious need of help and there is always a miscommunication between doctors and the staff members.

They were very caring as I had a procedure done. They also comforted me as my PTSD reared its ugly head. Having a panic attack they stayed right beside me. Thank you all at the endoscopy department.

The E. R. is slow in. Out fast! Maybe its a profit over people thing? The hospital itself is descent with really good Doctors & caring nursing staff.
