I have two kids, one is 6 the other is 2 and they both are having horrible painful poops. Neither one of them are able to get to the toilet in time because there in so much pain. After years of telling my doctor that there was something wrong they all responded with that there diet needed to change. After having both kids on a laxative for a year and changing there diet there problem still occurred. The last time I took them into the doctor my son was crying cause he was trying to potty and it hurt him and the doctor didnt even look at him to see if there was anything going on. I decided it was time to find a doctor that listened. I called several pediatrians and finally found one of the doctors at sunset that took the time to HEAR what I was saying and schedule some testing to see what was going on. While were still in the process of trying to figure it out I just have to say that its honestly a RELIEVE to know that I have a doctors whose really trying to find the problem and fix it then just prescribe me medication and send me out the door with nothing else. Thankyou Sunset for hearing and actually working to make people better.

My daughter was born at St. Vincent hospital and one of Sunset Pediatrics pediatricians was on call to check out the new babies. When he came in to check out our daughter and he found out that we were not going to be actual patients of his in the future he got very upset and rude. He only spent about 2 minutes looking at her and didnt ever listen to her chest or look in her ears or anything. My husband and I were blown away by his lack of bed side manner and were upset because he wouldnt even answer the questions we had for him. He didnt even come back and she her when she was discharged, but he signed her discharge papers. We were shocked 3 weeks later when we received a large bill from their office for the 2 minutes of his time. He thinks his time is worth over $10,000/hr. BS. We called their office several times to talk about our bill and how inflated it was and to tell them that we were not going to pay that much for their services and they wouldnt listen and only threatened to take us to collections. There are plenty of other pediatric offices in the area, do not waste your time and money on this one.

Our children have been seeing Dr. Michael Ericksen for several years. We had scheduled an appointment for our son and had it in our calendar for a day later than what the office had. We called the following day to confirm and was told by the office staff that his appointment had been missed. About 2 weeks later we received a bill in the mail for the missed appointment. I called and spoke to the office manager, Karina, that we were long term patients of Dr. Ericksen and had never missed an appointment in the past asking that the fee be waived. She told me that that was not possible even though it is unclear as to whether Sunset Pediatrics had made an error scheduling the wrong day or whether it was our fault. There are many other excellent pediatricians in the Portland area and given their inflexibility we will be finding a new clinic.

Dr. McCloskey cared for all 3 of my sons until the day that they were too old for her :) Her care was amazing and her sweet, compassionate way with them was the best. She came to our rescue too many times when my boys had illness (even e-coli) and sports injuries. It was very common that she would call later that day or the next (well after office hours) to check in on how they were doing. We love her and the whole staff. In all the years of working with this practice, I cannot think of one complaint, only love, awe and gratitude.

Our 14 yr old has been seeing Dr Snyder since she was 2 yrs old. He has always been genuinely concerned for her health and wellbeing. She has recently had some health concerns--it is not often a Dr will call you at home after hours solely because he was thinking about your child and wanted to see how your child is doing.......not returning your call, not calling with results, just calling to lend support and be available.

Love Dr. McCloskey at sunset pediatrics. Also office staff, advice nurse and Dr. Erickson are great too. So sad we have to find a new provider/office due to a change in insurance (going to Kaiser insurance). She is a great doctor because she takes the time to get to know her patients and allows parents to express their concerns and answers all questions.

Great doctors. Listen to patient concerns and treat all worries as justified even if it just requires some education.
