This place has taken a steep dive since I visited it last (about 4 years ago). About 2 months ago I was very sick and in the worst pain of my life. We walked into the ER at 7:15pm, nobody at the reception desk. We waited for 20 minutes before the security guard felt bad and went to look for somebody for us. Another 10 minutes later some lady comes out holding half an eaten sandwich in her hand and collects my info (apparently it was a shift change). Another 15 minutes go by before a nurse comes and gets us and brings us back into a room. From that point another HOUR passes by before my wife has to go ask the nurses for a doctor. There were very few patients, so I know they werent overloaded. At this point weve been at the ER for almost TWO HOURS and I havent been seen yet. Im suffering in excruciating pain so bad Im ready to pass out. Finally the doc comes in....no apology, no bedside manner, just prescribes me the meds I need and ushers me out. Worst hospital experience of my entire life! AND...on top of all that, when I called and explained what happened, they were completely unsympathetic and unwilling to work with me on my medical bills.

I dont even know where to start. You could say that I am rating this hospital 5 stars because my dad had a successful quintuple bypass surgery, but that is only the starting point. I have to say the entire staff from the doctor to the nurses and service workers have all been stellar! Everyone was so nice. Dr King was absolutely amazing at what he was able to accomplish with my dads surgery and gave us some light humor to entertain us as well. We had exposure to all the service workers that were all kind as well. The true reason though Im have to say for writing this review is for all the wonderful nurses that took care of my dad during his now almost 9 day stay. He has had multiple nurses as he passed back and forth from pcu and icu and back. The warmth and kindness that they displayed throughout our whole experience made the work to my mom and I as they were the true caretakers. Love to the entire staff, thank you for taking such good care of my dad! My only reason for the 4 stars was the lack of accommodations for family members staying at the hospital, but I know a new building is going up in Silverado soon.

I wish I could give it no stars! I went there three times in one night. The nurses and front desk staff were mean and snotty I had a hard time breathing and standing and they would just roll their eyes. I had a hard time opening my mouth and a nurse evidently wasnt paying attention because she jabbed the thermometer in my mouth and wouldnt stop pushing until I was crying and they kept putting words into my mouth and not listening to a darn thing I said which is probably why I ended up going three times. I think the whole staff needs to get fired and they need to hire new ones. I will never go there again and I will definitely tell my loved ones not to go there for their own safety and health coming in three times in one night and getting treated badly each time? Yeah no thank you! Fire your current staff and get people who actually care! No reason for this Im a nurse myself and would NEVER treat my patients the way they treated me no matter what kind of day I am having they are here to make us better with love and passion not treat us like we are dirt!

My dad had pneumonia and was admitted to this hospital. They provided him with intravenous antibiotics along with steroids. He responded well to treatment and in a couple days could breath well enough to hold a conversation. Im glad hes home and still on the mend. Unfortunately, this all happened leading into the Presidents Day holiday and wouldnt you know it, the hot water for the entire floor went out. For four days there was no hot water for any of the patients. Did anyone offer to wheel patients to another place in the hospital to clean? Nope. And to add insult to injury, during his last day at the hospital, they changed his room and placed him in such a tiny cubicle that you had to move the furniture to get to the bathroom. Not the easiest thing to do when any little strain takes your breath away. I still wonder if they have ever put a "Private Insurance" person in that broom closet, or if that is an honor only bestowed on "Medicaid Patients". I encourage people to think carefully if they are self admitting and have other choices.

If you have any special needs (ie; not normal cookie cutter system) they will not be taken in to account. If you have more than one heart attack a day you will be given narcotics to mask the pain, nitro will be withheld. IF YOU ARE ON LIFESAVING MEDICATIONS, BRING YOUR OWN! While there are a few great nurse aids(and an e.r. doc), the staff is not knowledgeable, think that their one vial of blood will give them all the knowledge as 20 vials of blood from your cancer doctor. Youll also hear they are more knowledgeable than a cancer center. They will not contact your own cardiologist, even though he s in staff but insist on the ER cardiologist. IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON MEDICAL CARE, GO ELSEWHERE. After my care (lack thereof) at Harrison, I will not be seeking anymore medical treatment. I already have 4 clogged arteries, hopefully it will kill me soon and get me out of misery. Really, what nurse refuses nitro during a heart attack and suggests narcotics to mask the pain!

DO NOT go to Bremerton Harrison for ANY type of mental health crisis! They have repeatedly failed at providing any type of quality care to me and many, many others that I have talked with. They have repeated complaints from the Ombudsman regarding their care of the mentally ill. If I could give them no stars to rate them, I would. They have didnt give me my mental health medications when I was there for a mental health crisis. They have refused me food based on the fact that I didnt provide them with a blood sample. That is illegal. The security guards have put their hands on me without probable cause. The list goes on and on. Quite frankly, save yourself the pain and go to Saint Anthonys in Gig Harbor. Ive taken a friend there for help and had a better experience with them.

Now , I know some of you out there have your own opinions of Harrison Hospital. This is my opinion of the Emergency Rm care providers I had today. Twice in three years Ive had to be brought in by ambulance. Today started out not so good , but when I arrived this morning, I was delivered to an A+ team. I would like to express my deepest appreciation for all these members. Couldnt have had a more caring team to work on me A special.thank you to Michelle , your a super RN ! Loved the joking and light hearted conversations I had with ya, you brought a bright ray of sunshine to a day that started out very gloomy. Dr. William H Moore , you rock sir ! U Da man ! How fortunate I was to have you , an Michelle as my primary care providers today . Thank you all so very much !
