There are two things that should be covered here... The general atmosphere of the facility and my first time experience with Frisco West Animal Medical Center during a stressful time. Atmosphere. The place is very elegant, with an almost resort style design to the examination rooms that are accessible via a single back wall from the main lobby. Removing the hall to the secret excluded rooms in other designs open the place up and makes the experience much more welcoming and comfortable. The floors are tile, but not just plain flat ceramic tile expected in an bio-hazardous environment; where function wins out over form. The decor is stylish, modern and appealing. Its higher maintenance than others, but it makes for a less "clinical" experience. Other features like the free coffee, friendly staff and maintained facility all lend to the thought of paying a big upcharge for the expected overhead. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices we paid for services, were no higher than what I would have expected from you more common "no frills, just medicine" facility. The moment of truth: The real review is here... We brought in a relatives aging dog who had a growth that had gone out of control. The vet was open and honest about our options, the reality of the situation, etc. Without going in to great detail, here was the experience summarized. The Dr. gave us the reality that the situation was likely going down a bad road, but... He wasnt willing to give up hope. He gave us some advice and medications to try. He shied away from needless procedures until more information was available, admitted when the surgical options were out of his league and referred us to specialists. He was honest in his skills, wasnt willing to give up on the animal, but at the same time was very respectful to the budget. It did not take advantage of emotions to increase his margins, and was extremely sensitive and understanding to our emotions. In the end, we had to put her down :=( We went to one very comfortable, very nice, very well sized room where the family got to spend the last moments with our beloved member. We were not rushed, and the whole staff and doctor made us feel like we were the only client of the day. In the end, she went peacefully in our arms while the doctor administered the treatments. There was no cold steal table, we sat on the floor with her on a cushioned blanket. It was a sad first time experience with this vet, but I cannot imagine any other facility capable of caring for us and our pet with more compassion, sympathy and honesty.

We have been taking our “guys” to Dr. Tucker for about a year and a half now. We were acquainted with him when he worked with our previous vet who has retired. We tried a couple of other veterinarians who were closer to us, but after several bad occurrences we decided to make the trip north to Frisco West Animal Medical Center and Dr. Tucker. Recently, one of boys was recovering from a bronchial issue when we were scheduled to leave on vacation. While we were gone he had a relapse and the boarding location got him to Dr. Tucker. After administering some much needed meds, Dr. Tucker had him taken to the 24 hour Animal Emergency Center off of I35E where the little guy was kept on oxygen and medications. When it was apparent that he was definitely in recovery mode Dr. Tucker had him brought back to his office and for much needed moral support he also had his brother “by another mother (and father)” brought over as well. It was the quick response and follow-up by Dr. Tucker and his staff that saved our little guy. We greatly appreciate that he made sure that Moto got the 24-hour care that the emergency center could provide and to follow up with a specialist at the Diagnostic Center off the Dallas North Tollway to ensure that ongoing recovery was ensured. His compassion for our pets, understanding and patience with us is never taken for granted but is always appreciated more than we can ever express. Moto and Chanlee offer “kisses” to Dr. Tucker and all of his staff.

Dr. Chris Tucker is the very best veterinary in all of the Plano/Frisco area. Dr. Tucker was best friends with our two schnauzers, who loved him back. (Dr. Tucker speaks dog.) They were always happy to see him. He help my husband and I get through several schnauzer problems, and the passing of both of them several years ago at the ripe old ages of 13 and 14. We waited about 6 months and talked with Dr. Tucker about adopting a 7 month old Yorkie from Chris Rescue Angels. Our first stop after being approved to adopt Joey was to see Dr. Tucker for a check up. All was well, and our Yorkie is now 4 years old, and we love seeing Dr. Tucker. His rates are reasonable, and he is always up front with you about any problems he sees. He does not recommend expensive, unnecessary treatments. If you are looking for an honest, caring vet, look no further! His staff is also very friendly, helpful and caring. No matter where you live he is worth the drive. Linda Beer

It has been a couple of months now since I first took my 12 year old cat to Dr. Tucker. Actually my wife did. She said that the entire staff was very polite and great with our cat. The bill was a little high but that is because we had to get several other tests done while he was there. I think otherwise, they are really reasonable with the vaccinations and other services cost. What I was really impressed is when Dr. Tucker actually called us several days later to see how our cat was doing and to offer any advice/help if needed. I cant really speak about all other Vets, however, I never had the actual Dr. make the call to check up how things were going. It would always be one of the staff members who would do so. Two thumbs up to Dr. Tucker! This actually showed me that Dr. Tucker cares and listens to the pet owner. If youre looking to try out a new Vet Dr. , give Tucker and his staff the opportunity. You wont be disappointed!

I love my dogs and therefore I am extremely picky with them. Im picky about their food (grain free Fromms - nothing else). Im picky about how much they exercise. Im picky about the amount of time they spend socializing (the more the better). So you can imagine how picky I am about the vet we take them to see. We are loyal to Frisco West Animal Hospital. The environment and atmosphere that they have fostered within their facility exactly what you would expect from high caliber professionals, and theyve included Texas charm! Ive found their advice to be spot on, their prices to be reasonable, and their love of animals to be the driving force behind the work they do. Ive never been asked to pay for a service that wasnt completely necessary. In fact, Ive asked about some of their services and theyve explained to me why it wasnt necessary. To me, this shows their honesty. We love our dogs. This is our vet.

Outstanding. I can walk in here and not only is this place SPOTLESS... but they genuinely care about the animals. My only complaint would be the groomer is ALWAYS BOOKED! !!! she is THAT AMAAAAZINGGG!!! its August 2016 and she already has bookings thru March 2017!!! However, putting your name down on the cancellation list usually gets you in within 3 weeks. Dr Tucker is awesome! Not only is he professional and courteous bit also always takes the time to PERSONALLY follow up on any of the issues my pup has had... or even regular blood work! Oh he is also eyecandy ladies (or gents) hahaha! (My husband is not gonna be happy about that haha). On another note, phone hold times at times are very long... but they are super quick to respond emails, return calls and such. Im super happy here and so is my beautiful baby girl (my doggie)
