I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!!! I am a Active Duty military Chief Petty Officer in the navy. I came here to visit family after having a very intense back surgery. It was a Pedical Subtraction Osteotory spinal fusion from my T2 to L3. I ended up staying in Rice Lake Longer than planned and had to get my proscription refilled.I called my insurance and doctors in San Diego CA and they told me to go to the local ER and give them my info and they will refill it. I went in and explained why I was there and they had me wait in the waiting room. I was then told by a nurse that they would not fill my median because they they dont just proscribe this median to people that want it. I asked to talk to the doctor and he told me it was illegal to to proscribe a pain killer and a muscle relaxer at the same time, he then asked me which one i wanted and said he would write a proscription for one of them at half the dose. He then told me that I would not be able to ER hop and get any more and even went on to explain I should not try to go to a different state to do it. I felt that the Attending Physician Urie MD, Brock T basically accused me of being a drug addict. I was upset and embarrassed by the way I was treated (or lack of treatment and respect). I would recommend driving a little further to get treated like a person not just another drug addict.

Will never go to LMC again or recommend LMC to anyone. My spouse was critically ill and had a week long admission. 2 of the many MDs he was seen by were very good, the others left much to be desired. The nurses were, at best mediocre. While classified as a Intensive Care patient, the wait time for nursing to respond to the call light was unacceptable. Yet, they could be heard visiting and giggling outside the door at the nurses desk. I am a RN and absolutely feel that when I was there the response time was even worse, in hopes I would take care of his needs. The new hospital is very attractive, its too bad the standards of care dont even come close to the expense and efforts put into the physical building and decor. Ive also had many professional contacts with several departments. Again, unimpressed overall. Administration is, as always in these situations, ultimately responsible for the inadequate staff and questionable/lacking care provided. Until there are changes implemented, LMC will continue to have a poor reputation which is completely deserved.

Beautiful building that houses the awful Marshfield Clinic. They essentially initiated a hostile takeover of the non-profit LMC back in 2008 and payed ZERO dollars for a 75$ million dollar organization Thanks in part to Marshfield Clinics anti competitive practices, health care costs in this part of the state are among the highest in the nation. Be sure to get any treatment pre-approved by your insurance, because the only in network provider is their in house HMO Security Plan and the state welfare insurance organizations. If you have to pay out of pocket, its going to cost you dearly. For a 30 minute consult with a nurse pracitioner where no drugs or treatments were administered, I payed $169. Which is about 10% of the monthly income of the average resident of Rice Lake.

I had to go in 2 days in a row. I had a double ear infection. Gave me the wrong antibiotics. I was in tears my pain level was so bad. Refused to give me anything for pain. They made me feel as if I was just there trying to get pain meds. I felt disrespected. And they didnt believe my pain level even though I was in tears and throwing up because of the pain . Three days later I have a ruptured ear drum the antibiotics arent working and I am trying to maintain with 3 children. If I had a way to get to another facility I would but really this was my only choice. If your able to, go somewhere else

Went to get a simple tetanus shot cause of an accident I had at work and they refused my care even when it was called in and approved by them the day before.. What a bunch of BS! That is why I will just stick to the small town hospitals where they actually care about their patients

Have always had great care here but they are not willing to work with you on payment they give you a price and thats it and also the constant phone call harassing you for their money is not right.
